Agree. Was absolutely fuming in the same fixture last season. This time around, it's different. We showed great spirit and character to come from 2-0 down and there were number of positives that shows we can go far with the team we're building here. Furthermore, we didn't lose the game because United played well. We lost it because of some incompetent referees!
Expected lineup really. And here's Man United lineup... #MUFC team v #CFC : De Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Young, Rooney, Van Persie
3 hours and 25 minutes more to go. Just add another hour to the countdown time on the TC forum homepage. Time in UK has gone back by an hour yesterday.
IF Everton cannot beat one of the most average or worst Liverpool side ever in the Merseyside derby today, they never will. They couldn't have be in a better form going into this game.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9638306/Chelsea-v-Manchester-United-humble-Oscar-having-little-trouble-adapting-to-the-demands-of-the-Premier-League.html A nice little profile piece on Oscar. An enjoyable read.
Have some sort of strange feeling that this might be a Chelsea/Man United v Arsenal of recent years. Attacking v Counter attacking football. Hope it doesn't turn to be like that.
I'm more worried with him suffering a burnt out. He has played quite a lot of games non stop recently including the friendlies for Brazil during the international break.
One factor of Cahill's play that I do not like is his style and tendency to constantly backs off opponent that runs at him. As I was talking to SeB the other day about this, he is probably waiting for the right time to make the tackle and not commit rash challenges like Luiz leading to giving away fouls in dangerous free kicks. While that is a fair point, constantly backing off is not helpful because more often than not, you're gonna allow the opponent to have a free shot at goal without any pressure and this happened quite a bit against Spurs last weekend.
No, not really. It won't make much of a difference as Ryan pointed out. It's always painful to take a defeat regardless when we suffer defeat though losing at the weekend might be slightly more painful. And that is because you have to wait for a week to watch the team bounce and this is really annoying when there are no matches in midweek or there is an international break! That being said, won't have to worry too much about that right now as we'll be playing almost every 3-4 days from now on.
