No. Fellaini did not play well when used as a DM at Everton. If you bother to look at Everton games in the past 2-3 season where he is being played at DM, you can see that he is pretty average and certainly not the same Fellaini right now. He's not mobile enough and tends to be clumsy with his challenges, which can lead to giving oppositions free kicks in dangerous areas.

Oh boy, here we go with the Fellaini speculation and debates once again.

Just went through the 3 pages and here are the results(Hope I got it right. Otherwise, it's more or less there): 1. Cahill - 15 2. Cech - 7 3. Ivanovic - 5 4. Mikel, Mata & Bertrand - All tie on 3 votes each 5. Chalobah, McEachran - Both tie on 2 votes each 6. Luiz, Torres, Moses & Azpilicueta - All tie on 1 vote each Mind you that most just posted the name without exactly pointing who should get which post, given that there are obviously 2. Now it's up to one of the mods or admins sort out the poll, if they want to add it.

If you are so eager to see that, then why don't you go through the responses yourself?

How can we just make conclusions like that when he hasn't even been given a proper chance in the 1st team yet?!

Can't just jump the gun, can I? Everybody will have different views on who should be captain. And if I were to put the entire squad(well, almost) on the poll, it's going to stretch the page because of how long it is going to be.

I would like to see 1 or 2 of our FBs be a little bit more conservative especially against the better quality teams. Can never quite understand why both have to be so high up the pitch more often than not when we have the ball. I know they are supposed to provide the width and offer themselves as a passing option when going forward. However, the amount of space left behind them and number of times we have been caught out because of that on the counter has been ridiculous. Keeping possession has been a problem for us and everytime when we get turned over(which happens a lot!), all the opposition have to do is put a direct pass into those space behind the FBs and it takes almost the entire team out but the 2 CBs and maybe the CDM as well. Suddenly we find ourselves at a major disadvantage on the counter, like what happened against Atletico Madrid! Gets worse when you have a slow player playing at RB like Ivanovic.

Slipped down the pecking order because of new arrivals?! What new arrivals?! We didn't even get anyone new for the CM/CDM positions FFS! An utterly rubbish and nonsense news!!

Until the FA actually put an end to this, we are going to be seeing the same BS again everytime we face QPR.

True but maybe his over-jovial character could work against him. That said, he definitely needs to sort out his defending and recklessness first. Players won't have faith in him if he's not reliable at all on the pitch. Leaders also need to lead by example.

Yeah but it takes time for some right now to be fully comfortable at the club given that we are slowly overhauling the squad. Definitely also need some to step up like Luiz, Ivanovic etc.

Will need to break into the 1st team and establish themselves first though. Care to elaborate why?

I'm sure RDM will make the right choice, rotate well and give them both a fair amount of games throughout the season.

Goodness me. Like I said, I was just saying that given the 2 better options we have now on our RW, Moses is more likely to start when compared to Marin(only!) for obvious reasons. Is that so hard for you to understand FFS?! Holding a grudge here!

Perhaps this is the time to start discussing about who is gonna be our main leader on the pitch in the future. As we all know, Terry and Lampard can't go on forever. The former is already 32 y/o this year while the latter is 34 y/o. From the different types of characters in we have in our squad right now, who do you think is suitable to replace Terry and Lampard as captain and vice captain respectively? What kind of characteristics do you look out for particularly to be a captain and/or vice captain? One of my choice right now would be Cahill. Reason being that he is like a clone of Terry. Possess similar playing style and more importantly, he's a strong and wise character on and off the pitch. He is by no means a finished article just yet and can definitely still improve but he has the qualities to be a great leader of the team. Tends to speak quite well to the media too.
