  1. Unfortunately, the law says otherwise.
  2. Given what we have right now, I don't think there is anything much we can do. Sturridge is just contributing more than Torres at the moment.
  3. A very composed sidefoot finish.
  4. Hangeland has been sent off in the Fulham v Sunderland game. He will now miss the league game against us on 28th November.
  5. Palermo went down to 8 men in their 3-0 loss to Bologna! What happened?!

  7. Wouldn't be surprised if RDM drops one of Mata, Oscar or Hazard for this game and return to playing Bertrand/Ramires outwide to shore things up a little bit. Playing those 3 in an away game like this can be rather suicidal especially after what has happened in the past matches.
  8. Spotted at Loftus Road yesterday... https://twitpic.com/show/iphone/be2qzl
  9. Raphael Honigstein, a reliable football journalist and expert on German football, tweeted this yesterday.
  10. What a beauty. A peach of a goal!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWGCJeiI9zs
  11. I would like our manager to get involved and ultimately decide who we should get and don't but our past history have shown that managers don't always have a final say on the transfers. RDM might have been consulted regarding those 2 transfers but it could have been ultimately decided by someone else for him.
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20385497 No offence to Shane Long but it just sums up Torres right now when people are comparing him with Long. A major fall from grace.
  13. I'm slightly surprised by your supposed angry reaction towards Sturridge. The problems we have now with both of our strikers are now well documented but at least Sturridge is showing so much more than Torres upfront in terms of movement, energy, hunger and desire. Heck, even Shane Long showed more than Torres did!
  14. What makes you say that when most people are think that he doesn't have much say in the transfers coming in?
  15. The goal he scored yesterday was his first ever headed goal in his career. After the game, he tweeted: In English, it reads:
  16. And whoever decided to let both Meireles and Essien leave needs to be thrown into outer space! Leaves us short in options in the CM area and in circumstances like yesterday or some of the past matches(when Lampard is injured), we could have done with someone like Meireles. Otherwise, we either have to play Mikel-Ramires or Mikel-Romeu in the double pivot.
  17. He meant for their Lazio game last night.
  18. Time for some stat attack! 1. Chelsea have won just ONE of their seven matches against Italian oppositions in Italy in the Champions League - P7 W1 D3 L3. 2. The one and only time Chelsea beat an Italian team in Italy in the Champions League was back in 03/04 season - 4-0 win over Lazio. 3. Chelsea are winless in their last 4 trips to Italy in the CL - D1 L3. That draw came against Juventus in 08/09 season. It ended 2-2. 4. Chelsea have scored in 6 of their 7 trips to Italy in the Champions League. Only time they failed to score was in 1999 - 0-0 vs Lazio. 5. Juventus have won 44.4% of their home matches against English oppositions in the Champions League - P9 W4 D3 L2. 6. Oscar has been involved in 50% of Chelsea's 10 goals in the Champions League this season - scored 4 and assisted 1.
  19. Yes, we will become the first European Champions to get knock out in the group stage should we fail to qualify for the Last 16. Don't think RDM would want to create this history under Roman.
  20. Just like every other players here, expect people to bash him up the minute he starts playing poorly...
  21. That. I would happily stick with him upfront than Torres even though their finishing is woeful. At least Sturridge is threatening in the attacking third by making dangerous runs, getting into threatening areas, quick and look hungry for the ball. The same can't be said about Torres.
  22. At this rate, think I might even take in Shane Long. Just look at his workrate and movement and compared that with Torres. Absolutely pathetic!!
  23. We definitely can't afford to lose this one but our recent run of form and last few visits to Italy in the Champions League are not really inspiring. 2011/12 1st Leg Last 16: LOST 3-1 to Napoli 2009/10 1st Leg Last 16: LOST 2-1 to Inter Milan 2008/09 Group Stage: LOST 3-1 to Roma and in the last 16, we DREW 2-2 against Juventus Our one and only win in Italy in the Champions League was against Lazio under Ranieri in the 03/04 season. Hammered them 4-0 then.
  24. I believe Pirlo is suspended for the Lazio game rather than being directly rested.
