Yeah but why change something when it ain't broken? Lollichon won't have stayed with the club this long if he wasn't that good and I'm sure the club recognize that. Additionally, Benitez won't stay here beyond the season(hopefully!), so why let him revamp so much of the backroom staff? He has already brought in Zenden and 2 other coaching staffs.

This was being mentioned 3 hours ago... Cech won't be happy if RB does that. He has been working with Lollichon since he was at Rennes and the result of that can be seen on the pitch!

Not sure what he said exactly but he basically just mentioned that Malouda might a chance in the first team squad again. Apologies for unable to get a direct quote but it has been mentioned by reliable Chelsea sources on Twitter too.

Worth pointing that the referee for this game will be Chris Foy.

Not that timid to start booing the manager because of his past comments about us. Can't be bothered wasting my time over such trivial matters. And I don't think you quite understand the point I made. He maybe a football manager but still a human. If his motivation is right, then yay. Good for us all. If not, then that would only be catastrophic. Saw that his half a season contract is worth 1.5m itself! As for his flaws, like I said, can only hope he has learned from his mistakes including getting distracted with matters off the pitch and not repeat it. Not just gonna disregard him immediately. Will judge him based on the team's performances and results but right now, don't think there's anything wrong with people having doubts about him.

Benitez hinted that Malouda could be brought back from the wilderness.

I was obviously only joking about the comment made about him selling Mata off! After all, our managers don't have much say in the transfers... RB may be a professional but he's a human after all and knowing that he won't be here for more than 6-7 months, what motivation would he have? If he wants to rebuild his reputation and/or perhaps try to land the job on a permanent basis, then good. If not, then I'm not sure how much are we going to get from this short term appointment. Additionally, his past record of spending more time dealing with matters off the pitch and not on it, worries me. His team's results and performances suffered as a result of that. It's his past failings that makes me really skeptical about him and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Hence as I said before, can only hope and pray he has learned from his mistakes.

As long as Benitez is our manager, I'll back him BUT only for the sake of the team. Nothing more. They don't deserve to be the victims of the matters happening off the pitch and right now, they need our support to help them get through this tough period and start winning again. Spending time during the matches booing the manager won't help the cause as the negative vibe will eventually transmit on to the players. We do not want to be like the Blackburn fans last season.

I believe he's still at the club along with Eddie. No official confirmation whatsoever yet and I'm sure RB would want some assistants who is working with the club that knows the training methods, players etc to help his preparations for the upcoming matches.
-
Yeah. Could mean a lot of different things. It would be unwise of him to make the same mistakes as AVB. Precisely my concern. He'll probably try to screw us up. Imagine him selling Mata off! That said, I'm sure if something were to go terribly wrong, Roman wouldn't be afraid to sack him as well. If Moratti can sack 2 managers and have 3 managers in one season alone, then I'm sure Roman would do it as well.

Chelsea TV was happily talking up RB's record of only losing once against City with Liverpool but the former were still average then. Could be a good sign nonetheless.

Better than having Sammy Lee perhaps...

Can say that all you want. Doesn't denied the fact that he dodged several questions like when he was asked about his previous comment about not joining Chelsea or other clubs in England due to his respect for Liverpool. Then when talking about his past success, he likens winning La Liga to having won the Premier League in his CV and even spouted nonsense about Guardiola has never won the Premier League! Regarding the captaincy question, he said Terry will keep it by saying "An easy decision. Normally, yes." Normally?! As said, he was being evasive and hardly endeared himself to the fans though he seem to know that he won't be here beyond this season. Since he's only here to get the results, then whatever. Just want to see him start winning again. Mentioned his name when RB said he spoke to the leaders of the dressing room like Cech, Terry, Lampard etc.

Could have answered the questions better to begin with rather than dodging in, going around the bush and repeating the nonsense he talks about. RDM was better. Straight to the point and no messing about. Some of the things Benitez said was just nonsense.

Not sure whose press conference is worse, AVB or Rafa's. He just keeps on repeating the same answers, going around the bush and conveniently answered some while dodging others. A bloody awful press conference!

Meh. Would have preferred to see him being loaned out to a Championship club but at least he will be getting game time in proper competitive games now. Good luck to him.

Benitez takes over the club and all the focus is on the flop blondie Torres once again. Don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

One thing I would say Benitez has over RDM is tactically, he is better than the latter. Hope we can profit from that in our games. We need it. Other than that, plenty of question marks hang over the head of Benitez.
