  1. Not for Moses and Mikel yet though. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2253740/Benitez-wants-Moses-Mikel-cup-ties-Southampton-Swansea.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Benitez wants to keep them till after we play the 1st leg LC tie against Swansea. The AFCON only starts on 19th January after all.
  2. No Moses? Why? He won't be going to the AFCON yet.
  3. With Benitez around, he might well utilize him. A decent squad option to have I guess and can play behind the ST too.
  4. Oh gawd! The nightmare then of having Boulahrouz as one of our defenders!!
  5. No. No. No... Last time we beat Everton at Goodison in the league was back in the 07/08 season. Essien scored the only goal that day in a 1-0 win.
  6. Lewandowski surely isn't that silly to join United, surely?! And...
  7. While we are facing Everton this Sunday, our nearby rivals' fixtures are: Manchester United v West Brom Norwich v Manchester City Sunderland v Tottenham Arsenal v Newcastle
  8. Chelsea have not lost a single game this season in all competitions when Juan Mata has assisted a goal in the game - P11 W10 D1.
  9. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-eyeing-january-move-for-franco-1506338 Brendan Rodgers wants to get Di Santo apparently.
  10. Look? What look? You have a wild imagination.
  11. Yup. We won 2-1 there AET last season. Did mention that was in the PL only though.
  12. In the ideal world, we would all want the team to score 3-4 goals in every games and smash the opposition to bits but unfortunately, in reality, we all know it doesn't work that way. Regardless of the quality players that we have, one cannot just disregard the oppositions that we face and expect them to just roll over, let us score 3-4 goals past them and give us the 3 points. Furthermore, we have practically been playing a game every 3-4 days this season and there's no way the players can play at their 100% best every time. Sometimes you just go to do a professional job on the opposition and grind out the win even if it's not pretty or spectacular. As many have pointed out, Norwich won 1-0 against both Arsenal and Man United and they didn't give too many chances away in those games while created a couple themselves. Admittedly, we weren't at our best offensively yesterday but defensively, we were solid and organized. We restricted them in creating chances from open play and their only opportunities to score came from set pieces and Bassong's header at the end was the closest they came to scoring. As I said, it wasn't pretty and arguably got a bit nervy watching it towards the end but I wouldn't mind us in games like this against a team in good form and don't often lose at home, to be a bit streetwise in our approach and grind out the win rather than just trying to open expansive attacking football in every game resulting in us getting exposed, which has happened a lot this season, and lose the game.
  13. Here's a couple of stats on this game: 1. Chelsea have only won 7 of their 20 Premier League clashes against Everton at Goodison Park - P20 W7 D7 L6. 2. SIX of the seven Chelsea league wins at Goodison have all been won by 1-goal margin. 3. Chelsea are winless in their last 4 Premier League visits to Goodison Park, losing the last 3. Last time they won there was back in the 07/08 season. Came away with a 1-0 victory. 4. Everton have only lost 2 of their last 28 Premier League matches - W13 D13 L2. 5. Everton have only lost 2 of their last 21 Premier League matches at Goodison Park - W13 D6 L2. Arsenal were the last team to beat Everton at Goodison as they won 1-0 back in March earlier this year. 6. Everton and Stoke City are the only 2 sides left with unbeaten home record in the Premier League this season - both P9 W5 D4. 7. Rafa Benitez won 4 of the 6 Premier League meetings against Everton at Goodison Park during his time at Liverpool - W4 L2. 8. Gary Cahill has scored more goals against Everton than against any other teams in the Premier League - 3. He scored the winner for Bolton in January 2012 when they came from behind to win 2-1 against Everton at Goodison.
  14. Last time we beat Everton at Goodison in the league was back in the 07/08 season. Essien scored the only goal that day in a 1-0 win.
  15. Oh alright. Was just wondering what was going on with it. Sorry.

  19. Indeed. He scored 12 goals in 54 appearances across all competitions last season. This season, he has scored 13 in just 28 appearances in all competitions.
  20. He scored his 13th goal of the season in all competitions today, beating his total tally of 12 in the whole of last season.
  21. Meh. All Everton, West Brom and Tottenham won in the end. Well, at least we did our job and got the 3 points. We sit in 3rd with 35 points. Tottenham, Everton and West Brom all have 33 points and sit in 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.
  22. Our game in hand is against Southampton at the Bridge. Not sure about both Manchester clubs dropping points against West Brom and Norwich. United play West Brom at OT and can see them doing enough to win that game, as always. Norwich v City is the tricky one though.
  23. His face is never right in pictures.
  24. Not sure about catching up to United just yet but the 3 points gained was vital in staying in the Top 3/4 especially after Everton and West Brom won as well and the fact that we're facing Everton next at Goodison this Sunday. Feel it's more important focusing on consolidating our place in the Top 3 first by getting the 3 points and pulling away from the chasing pack. If we can catch up to United, then great. If not, no matter. A Top 2 or 3 finish this season with the young squad that we have and closing the gap difference between us and the top last season would be a good achievement.
