  1. You gotta be kidding me!! We are in a desperate need to finish in the Top 4 and need every points we can get with everyone else so close behind us but here you are worrying about whether to give City a chance to catch United!
  2. Our Top 4 rivals' fixtures this weekend: Arsenal v Aston Villa Norwich v Everton West Ham v Tottenham The first two games will be played on tomorrow while the London derby will be on Monday night. Arsenal and Everton will move to within 2 and 4 points respectively of us if they win their game tomorrow.
  3. Benitez just said in his PC that Torres did well there because he created the space for Hazard to score..............
  4. Kompany and Barry are both doubtful for this game. They will be assessed tomorrow.
  5. That's a bit on hindsight though. Had we not messed up in the other CL matches, Oscar's goal would been important as it got us the points to progress. Hazard's goal got us through yes but we might still have won it had it gone to ET.
  6. Fantastic goal! Just what we desperately needed at that time. Similar to the one he scored against Villa but this way better. And as for it to be the goal of the season, not too sure about that. Think Oscar's second goal against Juventus is still the best goal we have scored this season but this Hazard's striker is definitely up there. Probably second.
  7. Chelsea have lost their last 3 league away matches against Manchester City and Carlos Tevez has either scored or assisted in each of those 3 matches. He scored the winner in the 2-1 loss in 09/10 season. Did the same in the 1-0 loss in 11/12 season. He then assisted Nasri to score the winning goal in the 2-1 defeat last season. Chelsea's last away win against Manchester City was back in the 08/09 season, where they came from 1-0 down to win 3-1.
  8. Unless he has some inside information, saying things based on one's gut feeling is pointless.
  9. Thought we played OK, not good or poor but just OK and this game summed up the season we're having. Offensively, we played decently. Looking dangerous, creating chances and good ones too but just not taking them, again. Defensively, we are in a mess, again. We are making it so easy for opponents to score against us these days and they hardly ever have to work hard for their goal! Take Sparta's goal for example. They played a quick free kick and our defence went to sleep completely especially in the case of Cahill and suddenly, bam goal! It's getting utterly ridiculous these days!

  12. We will now face Steaua Bucharest in the Last 16 after the Romanian side beat Ajax 4-2 on penalties tonight. They won 2-0 with the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate. Full Last 16 ties: Viktoria Plzen v Fenerbahce Benfica v Bordeaux Anzhi v Newcastle Stuttgart v Lazio Tottenham v Inter Milan Levante v Rubin Kazan Basel v Zenit Steaua Bucharest v Chelsea The first leg will be played on 7th March before the return leg on 14th March. So, we'll be away in Romania first before playing at the Bridge.
  13. Chelsea 'dominate' Barcelona: how the Spanish press reacted to the Blues NextGen Series win
  14. There is a reason why this is where it is...
  15. Understood what he said then. Of course teams like Barcelona and some others do it better and effectively more than others. Was just making the point offering basic movement attacking generally. Sheesh!
  16. That wasn't what I was referring to when I made the point earlier.....................
  17. By basics, I meant teams aren't going to penetrate and score if their attacking players don't offer movement going forward. Doesn't have to move all over the pitch like Barcelona do. As for us, yes, it is a problem with us right now. Though some things have to be pointed out. Things went stale under Ancelotti in his second season. AVB arguably tried to implement the movement etc but didn't have the right players to do so. We saw those attacking movements under RDM earlier this season but backfired in other areas. Under Benitez, not so much movement that is partly down to his style of play implemented on the team and the fact that his main focus is always remaining solid and organized defensively more than anything else.
  18. The silly about Cahill and Benitez's PC yesterday was when the journalists suddenly went and asked them about the Arsenal v Bayern CL tie and whether they can turn it around.
  19. Yes, Guardiola's Barcelona had amazing movement but that's kinda like the basic aspect that every team should have, no? Regardless of the team, if you don't offer movements going forward, you're not going to penetrate the opposition. Barca may have an off day of sorts but Milan made it very difficult for them to penetrate by remaining discipline, tight and compact. They denied them the space in which Barcelona likes to play in.
  20. Well done to the lads! Deja vu for Barcelona. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dca6OaALvT0
  21. http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/Hutchinson-set-Nottingham-Forest-return/story-18209277-detail/story.html#axzz2LWUiybUG Looks like he might be returning to Nottingham Forest soon.
  22. Still. We didn't nullified them as much as Milan did tonight.
  23. It also has to be said that Milan did a better job than we did against Barcelona last season. They hardly had a sniff at Milan's goal. Think all of Barca's chances came from set pieces and long shots. Only had 7 overall here compared to 24 when we played them at the Bridge back in April.
