He is suspended. And picking up a red card in the Super Cup and resulting suspension DOES carry over to the club's next UEFA competition match.

Trivia: Chelsea play Basel on 18th September, the same date as Mourinho's last Champions League match with the Blues in 2007 - 1-1 draw vs Rosenborg.

Maybe. Maybe not. But the thought and possibility of it, even if it's just 4 games in, is just sickening! Doesn't help after our result on Saturday..

Analyzing Everton's goal - How it went completely berserk
Jase replied to hjperdeath's topic in Chelsea Articles
I know I know. Just failed to phrase it properly. Apologies. Definitely agree with your point that the lack of clinical finishing is concerning. We've had like 68-69 shots in 4 league matches so far but only about 19 of them are on target! And it also won't help much if our defence make comical errors like that especially when scoring goals is a problem for us. Will only make us more desperate and difficult. -
Lost 1 game at Everton where we were unfortunate and so much has been said about it. And always trust Martin Lipton to add fuel to the fire.. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelseas-defeat-everton-shows-jose-2277042 And then there is this..

We could go 5 points behind Liverpool tonight if they beat Swansea. Ugh!! :banghead:

Analyzing Everton's goal - How it went completely berserk

Adding to that, players and managers (and the staffs) normally analyze what went wrong in matches to ensure that it doesn't happen again in the future anyway. Nothing wrong in any way about this analysis. And there wouldn't be this much analysis if we had not mess things up hopelessly.. -
Analyzing Everton's goal - How it went completely berserk

Said this in the post-Everton match thread and maybe it's a hindsight comment but Cech could or should have calmed things down and not take any risks with less than a minute to go before HT even though a counter attacking chance was on. Going 0-0 at HT is certainly better than suddenly going 1-0 down. Instead, we saw a whole bunch of comical errors with one mistake compounding after the other. -
With so many options in the team now, someone sometime is bound to get left out from the matchday squad altogether. And Mourinho has said as much that sometime he will make decisions that are strange to us all..

Well if you are curious, you can try that out. Otherwise, stay clear.

As someone with experience, would suggest you to avoid Nour. You do not, I mean you DO NOT want to get anywhere near him during night time.

Like I said, it's only 2 games in for Mata and he's still clearly finding his form. The likes of De Bruyne, Schurrle, Hazard and Oscar have done alright so far because they did not suffer any injury before this and have had the luxury to get consistent game, from pre-season, to play themselves into form. Moreover, Mata's performances might have not been the best so far but it's definitely not the worst or as bad as people have made it out to be. And yes while I understand the competition is tight but really, from what you stated there, it's clear you are over-thinking and assuming that others will just consistently do well or will immediately do well and Mata will then be tossed aside completely. It will be the same for the players across the board, not just Mata alone.

Believe there are other ways to help one relax. Go check out the hottest chick in college. It would help if I'm not such a skinny fella.

Has gotten worse now already. 3-0 down after 35 minutes..

Think if I ever tried playing rugby, would well end up in the hospital for months! It might be tempting but ain't gonna start doing it for the sake of it. Media and PR stuff.
-
In what way was that last post was a sarcastic response? Granted Mata is nowhere near his best yet and even after watching and observing the games, it's absolutely nonsensical to jump to conclusion that Mata is no longer good enough because he's not the focal point of our attacks anymore based on just 2 matches.

Romeu starts and will make his debut (finally!) for Valencia tonight as they take on Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
-
When he look back at the game, he might well be regretting the subs we made yesterday. And that aside, it doesn't justify some people here for seemingly overreacting to the Mata situation.
-
True. Him dropping back deeper helps us to retain possession and circulate the ball around much better but he doesn't offer enough attacking impetus for one playing in the No.10 role. Kinda disagree that he controlled the game yesterday against Everton because even before he came on, we were in control of the game and pinning them back. And there was no invention or creativity from Oscar, or anyone else for that matter, during that period as Choulo has alluded to. With Oscar deployed in such role, it probably places even more emphasis on the wide players to create and cause problems for the opposition with little threat coming from the middle and although it's no exactly alien for a CAM to drop back deeper into midfield, it would actually help if we have a reliable pivot that can help keep possession on its own without necessarily needing the CAM to drop back so often.

Might have to wait another week for that.

Right but point obviously still stands. Think it will be Mikel and Lampard. Ridiculous not to play a DM for game like this.

Well, your fault then.
