Adding more to what Mourinho actually said since the Chelsea Twitter only pick and choose certain things... Miguel Delaney @MiguelDelaney 43m Mourinho: "I'm not surprised [at criticism]. I'm not worried. I didn't read many [critical reports], but I have to agree with some." Mourinho: "I understand if results are not good, people put question marks. It's up to me to follow the direction." Mourinho: "If somebody expects me to play against Fulham with low block, nine men behind ball, waiting for mistake... [1/2] ... [2/2] Mourinho: "... I'm not going in that direction." Mourinho: "We haven't been relegated to the Europa League, so if you want to make comparisons, you have to wait." Mourinho: "It's not how you start, it's how you finish. I prefer to finish well. Of course, perfect to start well and finish well." Mourinho: "I don't want to be protected because of what I did here in the past. The profile of the players change." Mourinho: "I was asked if I want a Didier. That's history. That's a fantastic history, but I'm going to change." Mourinho: "I don't want a lot block, I don't want central defenders in midfield." Mourinho: "I know the work I have to do doesn't sell papers. I know what sell papers is big wins or big defeats. My work doesn't sell papers Mourinho: "I know [i have to win], but I hope you have the same dialogue with the other managers and not just with me." Mourinho: "Did you say to Avram, Carlo, Benitez that Mourinho never lost a match at home?" Response: "Yes." Mou, laughing: "That's fair." Mourinho asked, is it too early to ask about a crisis. Mourinho: "Crisis of what, Syria? Chelsea, no. No crisis." Mourinho says Lukaku will not be recalled in January, regardless of what happens. Mourinho asked about 2022: "After the pressure you put on me with your stats, I have no time to think about Qatar."

Talk about taking what he said out of context. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/19/chelsea-mikel-john-obi-basel

I forgive you..

Whooaa. That was rather out of the blue and scary. I obviously didn't mean any offence, like you said. Just find it astonishing, in a positive way of course. And from experience as well as after watching Junior Masterchef Australia, nothing surprises me anymore with younger fellas capable of doing brilliant things.

Noted.

I remember someone said last season that it isn't the best for a young player making his debut playing alongside Luiz in the pivot. The same probably applies with him and Lampard yesterday. Was left alone and exposed whenever Basel broke forward in that midfield with Lampard ghosting so far forward and not there to help him protect the back 4.
-
Another international break is not too far off and there are 2 more games that need to be sorted out - Steaua Bucharest and Norwich (both away matches). Who wants to preview those games? @hjperdeath, @Barbara, @Hutcho, @NishC300, @CHOULO19? Hutcho, free to do any of those games as I believe you haven't previewed a competitive match this season yet?

I don't disagree that Oscar is doing fine right now but is he really in fine form or are we overplaying it because the others aren't? His workrate is no doubt better than Mata at the moment but for someone playing in the No.10/CAM role, he doesn't seem to provide that same creative spark, guile in the attacking third like Mata does though it probably doesn't help when nobody makes an attacking run off the ball..

Ignore that. Suffering a morning blues back then.

Players are not robots. They don't suddenly just come in and perform at their very best like turning on and off tap water. You need a run of games to get your game and rhythm going. Oscar has had that luxury since pre-season and that's why he's in the form he is right now while Mata hasn't. If Mata has been in the same situation as Oscar, then even you wouldn't put it past him that he will be in form right now. And no, it's not about Mata getting minutes based on his name alone. It's the fact that he was our best player in the last 2 seasons and it's the fact that he performed greatly in the No.10 role for the past 2 seasons and gave us that attacking impetus as well as cutting edge in the final third that we haven't seen much of this season. It is that why he should be given more chances, more regular game time to let him get back to form and make a difference for us.
