  1. I only post the result in the first post immediately after the game and in the thread title on the day we play our next game (or at least a few days after it).
  2. Wonder if we'll score on Saturday especially with our trouble of scoring these days and this... - Tottenham have kept 8 clean sheets in their 9 competitive matches in all competitions this season. The only time they conceded was the 1-0 loss to Arsenal.
  3. Did well yesterday on his debut. Produced some decent saves on the few times he was called upon. And it does kinda feel safer with Schwarzer in goal as compared to having Turnbull or even Hilarious there.
  4. He'll probably end up giving away another penalty again..
  5. You'll find that many says he's overrated, which is probably true. He is a good defender but tends to have a lot of 'meltdown' defensively, making silly errors at the back that has cost Dortmund several times before.
  6. But yet despite after scoring against Bayern, Torres has failed to start the 3 more important games that followed till yesterday. Since Eto'o has been signed, he has started against Everton, Basel and Fulham. It's clear who he rates as his No.1 and Mourinho is likely to go with his tried and trusted players on Saturday as opposed to taking the risk on someone who blows hot and cold consistently.
  7. Or one could argue with some of them being tactical fouls to stop Swindon's momentum. In the past, we have seen Mata hardly putting in any challenge to break up opponents' attacks when they build from deep or from his No.10 area and we ended up coming under pressure too easily. It maybe needless in your eyes but for someone who is not the best defensively, it should not be surprising if and when some fouls are given away like that. Mata is obviously still rough around the edges and will take time before his defensive work and challenges get up to scratch.
  8. That maybe true but think it has reached the point where people aren't going to be easily swayed and praise his performance. Credit where it's due for yesterday yes but we have seen from Torres before, does well in a game (against lesser opponents mostly!) and then when we play him in the next few games, he goes missing altogether. We have had many false dawns with this fella already.
  9. Think only 1 of those fouls was close to our penalty box and the rest were further away from the area. So, I wouldn't necessarily classify them as dangerous free kicks.
  10. That was against Swindon. This against Tottenham. Different opposition altogether. He did alright yesterday but there's probably a reason why he hasn't played this season till yesterday and besides, his match fitness and sharpness still won't be anywhere near 100% after 1 (competitive) game in more than a month!
  11. @Rmpr and @zolayes, please, seriously stop it! If you wanna argue with one another, do so over the PM. Don't derail the place here.
  12. By the way, Mike Dean will be the referee for this one.
  13. Had Mourinho's hand not got tied up by the 2 unfortunate and unexpected injuries, he could have probably brought on Baker later in the game. OR had Torres, Willian not squandered chances to kill the game off completely, Baker could have come on. At 2-0, the game was not completely safe with Swindon creating some decent chances and that's probably why he didn't want to bring Baker on and besides, Mourinho probably felt more important then given the circumstances to give Ba game time to improve his match fitness and match sharpness so that it will benefit the first team in the long run this season.
  14. Chelsea fear Van Ginkel could be out for the entire season with suspected cruciate injury
  15. The media will have a field day if it happens. Think they have been waiting for AVB to beat us, especially now that Mourinho is here and we aren't exactly doing too well at the moment. They'll be sensationalizing everything then..
  16. A pivot of Mikel and Lampard will probably be a disaster..

  19. Benteke has been ruled out by Paul Lambert for 4-6 weeks with a hip injury. Chance for Lukaku to the lead the line for Belgium in their upcoming last 2 WCQs against Croatia and Wales. Belgium are 5 points ahead of second place Croatia.
  20. That failed back-heel...First it was Luiz and then him. :banghead:
