Was talking more of this season given the fresh start under Rudi Garcia etc. He has made 7 appearances this season with only 2 as starts. 4 out of the 5 sub appearances have been after the 70th minute and 1 in the first half but that was because of an injury to Pjanic (IIRC). Maybe you just see things differently from me but Bradley is mainly about his energy and stamina, like a B2B player I mentioned. His passing is average and nothing really out of the ordinary and hence the comparison with Ramires. He's just not the player for the pivot for us. Not sure how much I'm gonna believe this solid source of yours when you just came out of the blue and suggest this. And doesn't mean much if he's suddenly linked with Villarreal (who isn't really a big club) and Manchester City. Would he displace Toure and/or Fernandinho? Doubt it. Both are way better than Bradley and he will be just a squad player at City.

Anyway, I guessed the only positive thing here is that we have qualified for the Last 16 (thanks Steaua for trolling the group since losing 4-0 to us!). Otherwise, the game is beyond pathetic and rather embarrassing for a team that is filled with quality. To play badly and lose a game is one thing but to do that and not even threaten Basel's goal ONCE is something to be applauded at. Am not against the idea of going to Basel to play on the break given the onus is on them but the setup seems a tad too defensive with the intention of don't lose, just draw. Nothing more and in the end, we paid the price. Furthermore just like last season, we've hardly been convincing in the Champions League this time around. Back then, one may use the excuse that we have Juventus and Shakhtar in the group but now (no disrespect), we only have Schalke, Basel and Steaua in it and we're making life difficult for ourselves with the play we're playing. What's more concerning at the moment is that we can hardly get a winning run together or let alone, putting in a run with consistent performances. One minute, we are playing well (which is something that hasn't happened often this season) and getting the right result but the next, a complete shambles of a performance. We won 6 out of 6 in October but only 2 in 5 this month. Maybe, mysteriously, it's just the November thing again or maybe not but with 9 games (could have been just 8!) in December, it's needless to say we need to pick up our game BIG time! Though judging by recent outings and performances, I'm not totally 100% convinced or confident we can do that over the next month and win most of the games.

Doesn't matter really. Win here and that Steaua match will be meaningless. And thankfully, you're not managing the team and being rather ignorant or casual of Basel here. Mourinho's team selection overall certainly reflects he's taking this game seriously and not going to let this drag on till the last game if he can help it.
