  1. Sneijder was in a similar mould as well...though that might have something to do with the strong and solid duo behind them.
  2. That was rather expected and predictable...
  3. Goodness knows. Doesn't seem to be fancied by Mourinho. Probably doesn't like Bertrand getting forward so much...

  5. Again, there is no need for that mate!
  6. There is no need to call someone stupid just because of that mate..
  7. Playing Azpi at LB has seen us defend narrow and to even counter oppositions playing with inverted wingers. While West Ham do that, they are not afraid or alien to the idea of having wingers on the correct side to put crosses in and stretch the play. We can't afford to let that happen, certainly not too often.
  8. OR they are just rumours with no foundation and created by the media to sell papers.
  9. Ba may leave but even then, we will get only less than 10m for him. As for Mata and De Bruyne, it's all just rumours now. There's nothing concrete right now to suggest we'll be selling them.
  10. You are talking as if it's a given that a team will take Torres right now. We'll be lucky to even get rid of him as early as January or even next summer for that matter.
  11. Think the more accurate description of England would be there is a distinct lack of quality throughout the team.
  12. Cole was subbed off for England against Germany earlier and Hodgson said... Still having the same trouble as before it seems. Cole to miss this game on Saturday?
  13. And yet despite that with just an additional 10m+, we did not sign Cavani last summer. Even if Falcao's price is slightly cheaper, I'm not sure we will be inclined to spend that much still for him.
  14. Even then, it doesn't really justify Falcao's huge price tag and need to pay for it. I'm not sure what's wrong with talking about the 'right' striker considering the kind of players we have and type Mourinho possibly wants given his team setup and style of play. Falcao is a great goalscorer but has his limitations and it can affect the way the team setup overall if you suddenly have a player that doesn't suit the system and between the two, I would rather have Lukaku starting when arguably, he's more of an all rounder than Falcao. And speaking of the two, I'm surprised nobody has brought up the argument of 'buying player A will mean player B gets less game time than he should. we shouldn't buy player A!'...
  15. (Partly) Because our Champions League game against Basel is on Tuesday while both United and City's games are on Wednesday.
  16. Can these English media and pundits get anymore pathetic and embarrassing?! When he was still available, they can't bloody wait to get rid of him forever championing for Terry to be ditched and how Hodgson must focus on building England's future. And now, because of England's horrendous looking defence and Terry's form this season, they want him back. Absolute joke!
  17. It's a fact that Cech has made mistakes this season but it's also an exaggeration to make it sound as if he has been doing it in every game. Out of those 4 mistakes you pointed out before, only 2 really can be blamed on him; the goal against Bayern and West Brom. The ones conceded against Villa and City are not exactly downright his fault just because he conceded at his near post. All too easy to blame him just because of that as there are factors that need to be looked in at on that.
  18. True but those pressing from midfield (and other areas) and Lloris being the sweeper keeper is their way of playing though. It's similar to Guardiola's Barcelona.
  19. You are basically on reiterating The Skipper's point earlier about using those reasons to justify Falcao's price tag. It's not exactly very justifiable. Regardless of what it is, 52m is still A LOT for a player, especially when you're not Ronaldo or Messi. That money, if and when used wisely, can be spent to get arguably 2 quality players and moreover, if we are already so reluctant to dish out 60m+ for Cavani previously - if reports are to be believed - then it's unlikely to see us spend 50m+ on Falcao, even if the amount is less.
  20. People seem to have fond memories of Benitez here because of the unbeaten run we had towards the back end of last season. And people also have the tendency to reminisce of the good old days - which was then - when they are in bad times.
  21. But it's hardly the end of the world. People are so eager to see us sign him is mainly because he's a Chelsea fan. Not that he isn't a good player but the excitement around this seems to stem more from that fact.
  22. We are winless in the last 5 games in all competitions when Chris Foy has officiated our game - D3 L2. In fact, we've only won 2 out of our last 8 when he's the referee for our game. Last win with Foy in charge was the 2-0 win over Man City under Ancelotti back in March 2011. *gulps*
  23. Galatasaray abort mission to land Terry after accepting he doesn't want to leave Chelsea
  24. While it's unquestionable that Falcao has a great goalscoring record, I doubt though that his style of play suits what Mourinho wants from his strikers. And that is being all rounder type of striker or at least close to it, especially for the kind of squad we have where the goals do not just come from the strikers.
