The thing is though, Arsenal are playing teams that are already safe from relegation and/or have nothing else to play for. West Ham and Hull are safe (Hull could also be distracted by the FA Cup if they reach the final). Newcastle on a free fall and West Brom should be safe by then. Only Norwich could potentially be the tricky one because they could still be in trouble then and not to mention, Arsenal have proved themselves to be a flat track bully. They can beat these lesser sides with ease but only stumbled against the better ones. As for Everton, their tricky one is against Sunderland next but should have more than enough to beat them, Palace and Hull. Will come down to that 3 games against United, Southampton and City and what they get from those games.

Wanting City (and of course Liverpool) to drop points so that we can win the title is a tricky circumstance. If that happens and we win the league, then great! If we don't, then City dropping points may well aid Liverpool in winning the league! Tricky.

Arsenal are highly amusing. In just 4 matches away against Man City, Liverpool, us and Everton, they have conceded 20 goals and that is 50% of their goals conceded already this season. Although this defeat means Everton have the advantage due to that game in hand, still think Arsenal will just about finish in Top 4. Have an easier run-in. Arsenal - West Ham(H), Hull(A), Newcastle(H), West Brom(H) and Norwich(A) Everton - Sunderland(A), Palace(H), Man United(H), Southampton(A), Man City(H) and Hull(A) On the other hand, Everton's highest point tally in 11 Premier League seasons under Moyes was 65 points. Martinez's Everton are now on 63 with 6 games left to better that.

Norwich are in 17th and 5 points clear of the bottom 3 but seems like they may well get relegated. They face 18th placed Fulham next week at the Cottage and after that, they play Liverpool, United, us and Arsenal in their last 4 games. That is just absolutely horrendous!

After Cole came on earlier, not sure where was he playing really. Was like just rotating positions with others since we suddenly saw Azpi and Ivanovic popped up so far in the final third and a bit out of nowhere.

The only thing that is missing from Mata's game as a footballer is that physical capabilities such as having good stamina, pace, energy. His defensive workrate was an issue to begin with but he improved on it under Mourinho. Otherwise, he pretty much has the technical capabilities and that quick thinking to play those incisive passes, creating chances in tight situations or out of nothing. Basically, doing the things that we saw him did for us in the last 2 seasons. The funny thing about this whole situation is that I was thinking earlier if only we could merge him with Ramires. I mean, Ramires is like the opposite of Mata. Has all the physical capabilities to fit into Mourinho's system but lack the brain and technical prowess on the ball to truly flourish in the setup. Combine those two up and we would have a great player on our hands but shame that wasn't the case in any way..

Kinda disagree with that point. Yeah, he did pick that team but it was more of making sure the players he put out performed and they performing themselves especially when I believe this is the first time we saw a combination of Schurrle-Willian-Salah in between the ST and pivot.

The game was one of the better performances and comprehensive win lately. Whole team played well. Did what needed to be done. Can't ask for more.

Yeah. Only Ramires is suspended for the 2nd leg. Willian is only on 1 YC in Europe and needs 2 more to get a suspension. So, he's safe though Ivanovic and Mikel are on 2 YCs each. Get one more and they'll be suspended for the semi final 1st leg, if we progress.
