Can you two lads just stop it and talk about the game instead?! Can't stand each other? Just put the other in the ignore list! Continue this and there will be warning!
-
Maybe so but one would think it's unforgivable that we haven't improved in that aspect to play more 1-2s and give variations in our play with 3 quarter of the season gone..
-
You seem to be aware of that and yet you associate us/Mourinho with "specialist in failure" in that post earlier... Granted our results in the last 3 league games have been a bit dodgy but let's not forget before that we were on a 14-game unbeaten run. In those 14 games, we won 11 and drawn 3 where one of it came at the start in that 0-0 draw against Arsenal while another in 'one of those games' against West Ham. Frustrating as it is beating the top sides but not the smaller ones, we were never going to win all our games then and bound to drop points, one way or another. Some people would still like to moan either way anyway but 11 wins and 3 draws in 14 games is still a strong run, like it or not. To put things into perspective on the 'consistency' point, the 14-game unbeaten run was our longest since 2007/08 under Avram Grant, when we went 21 games without defeat from mid-December till end of the season. Additionally within that 14 games, we won 5 games in a row (should have been 8 if it weren't for that ridiculous 0-0 draw with West Ham), which was our best winning run in the league since the back end of the 2010/11 season. Seeing us with the record of 'WWWWW DWWDW' is way better than the inconsistency of 'WWLWD WDLWL' or 'DLWWD DDLWL of the last two seasons especially, where a run of results like those were quite common.

Who would you sign to lead the line at Chelsea?

Not sure if there is any word that can describe just how bad this is... -
I don't think it's confidence issue but more of a mental one. You can't possibly lose confidence and not even get it back especially after 4-5 years! It's just like he has gone completely 'dead' or AWOL on that mental strength and desire to succeed. Not a bad joke to set us all up for April Fool day tomorrow.....

Sometimes I just wonder if people actually comprehend what Mourinho said rather than just taking his words literally and as it is. Mourinho called Wenger a "specialist in failure" because he has gone 8 years (EIGHT YEARS!) without winning a trophy and is only ever building a squad and building one that has gone nowhere. To even sound us or Mourinho as a "specialist in failure" because we could well win nothing this season (just after one season) is ridiculous. In the last 8 years, we have won 9 trophies (excluding Community Shield) and at the same time, Mourinho won 9 trophies across 3 different countries. What did Arsenal and Wenger win since 2006? Nothing. In fact, we (and Mourinho) have won more trophies in the last 8 years than Wenger in his 18 years at the club; just 7! To address Henrique's point on Mourinho saying last season was a failure under Benitez, well, it is true isn't it? Yes we won a trophy, had great moments along the way, we all enjoyed the craziness of it but looking at the bigger picture, it wasn't not good enough for a club like us where we want to compete at the highest level and set high standards for ourselves (something we have struggled A LOT in the last 3 seasons). We crashed out of the Champions League in the group stage(!), only just squeezed in to finish 3rd within the last 2 weeks of the season, lost countless of chances to win trophies and struggled with inconsistencies throughout the season. This time around, as many have said, we look to have a direction and plan to move forward as team and Mourinho is laying the foundations in which we can challenge consistently for major honours in the upcoming years. We are more consistent (since December at least) and are in the Champions League quarter finals with a good chance of progressing to the semi finals. And not to mention, we would be finishing in the Top 4 without any trouble and drama like we experienced in the past 2 seasons AND actually challenging for the title till the end, something we have failed to do since the 2009/10 season. You can judge a season whether it is success or failure by the number of trophies won but honestly, that is really a myopic way of thinking. The REAL failure of a season would be say the 2010/11 or even 2007/08 season. No trophies won in those seasons and worse of all like in the 10/11 season, there was no progression, no development and not even anything positive to take or did that season to put us in a good stead for the subsequent seasons. Never mind not winning trophies then, we were just awful and uninspiring throughout the season. If this is the case next season where after we (hopefully) get rid of the deadwoods and have a proper, strong squad going but win nothing, then you might have a good case of it being a failure. But this season, no, not even if we don't anything in the end. We are fixing the mess we had for the past few season and set the foundation to get us going next season and beyond.

After beating Villa on Saturday... Moyes really do love making himself look like an idiot. Forever blowing the trumpet or saying things when the facts/circumstances don't back his statement and things that shouldn't be said when managing a big club like United (e.g. City are what we aspire to be, Liverpool are the favorites). Old Trafford is not an easy place to come? Ha! 7 defeats in last 14 home games and even the likes of Everton, Newcastle, West Brom, Swansea etc have all won there.

Am curious, if Giroud is the 'f**king lamp post' upfront according to Arsenal fans, then what is Torres..?

Pellegrini's message to Mourinho: 'Intelligent bosses don't play mind games'

Right, re-opening this thread. Hope you lads have cooled down now and get back to talking about the game itself. Anymore bickerings, petty verbal wars, trash talking or any other nonsense that is nothing about the game in here and you'll suffer consequences accordingly.

Porto are now 15 points behind Benfica with 5 games to go and their chances of winning the title is now gone completely. That Porto v Benfica game on the last day is so pointless now. Had wanted to see this again..

Against the Top 7 - P11 W7 D3 L1 Against Bottom 7 - P11 W8 D2 L1 Though should note that it wouldn't be balance if we take our record against the bottom 7 and compare it with the Top 7 since we are one of those Top 7 teams and there are only 6 others to play. So taking that into account, our record against the bottom 6 reads - P9 W6 D2 L1.

Who's blaming him for what? Others are just discussing the flaws in his game. And even if people do blame him for something, there has been a legitimate reason for it.

@, looks like I was right. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2592833/Jose-Mourinho-vows-summer-surgery-cut-players-without-personality-warning-misfiring-strikers-fight-leave.html

Mourinho vows to get rid of Chelsea players without 'personality'... warning misfiring strikers they can fight or leave
-
Will just do what zolayes said earlier and just lock this thread since you lads can't seem to stop this nonsense and something that isn't related with the game itself. It's getting really silly. Go chill out or something and come back later...

For goodness sake people, get back to talking about the match itself and NOT about other things! Some people are really asking for trouble here..
-
They couldn't pick a more obvious problem and easiest topic to talk about, could they? Anyway, valid points made by them three except for one. Martin Lipton is talking absolute rubbish when he said Torres always put the effort in and move himself about. He only does that when he fancies it. Otherwise, he'll just jog around and couldn't really give a tosh and that happens A LOT!
-
Not that it makes much of a difference but PSG are now 13 points clear in Ligue 1 after Monaco lost yesterday. Now, they can practically rest all their first team players next weekend ahead of the 2nd leg..
-
Mostly against rubbish oppositions...
-
But even then, you gotta admit they are a 'special' bunch of people. The delusional ones.. Maybe we shouldn't have chased it against Villa and leave ourselves open against 11 men. Played straight into Villa's approach play. As for Palace, well, shame we couldn't even create meaningful chances and even when we did get them on the rare occasion, we fluffed it.
