  1. We definitely need to make a better start in Wales than we did against Tottenham, Watford and Newcastle. Otherwise, we risk getting picked off with ease and their first half performance against us at the Bridge showed us what they can do to us if we aren't careful. He's off to City anyway.
  2. One major concern though - we have suddenly looked extremely vulnerable against pacey and direct players. Not that we have not seen our defenders struggle against such players before but it has happened far too often in recent games. Not to mention, some of the attempted challenges to stop these kind of players have been been pathetic. So many half-hearted tackles and hardly any committed ones. If the players are going to do that, then they might as well not bother putting in the challenges at all.
  3. Fair play to Mourinho for dropping Cahill. Was completely shocked to see it actually happened when the team news came out. #UnbelievableJeff
  4. Gosh. Spurs are hopeless. Beat us last week and they followed up that by losing to Palace. Of course. Pathetic. Speaking of hopeless, how bad were Sunderland against Liverpool? Utterly shocking display and they only seemed to turn up against us!
  5. Can't say I'm surprised by the incredibly average performance against Newcastle. But the 3 points is all that matters and thanks Everton!

  11. And I'm disagreeing that Moses is a better option to bring off the bench than Schurrle. About that offer, have any of the German papers reported about this? So far, Di Marzio seems to be only the source and people are taking it as something true (because of the 30m).
  12. Solid squad player yes but good enough for us? Probably not. If he was that, then think Mourinho might have recalled him last January rather than going out to buy Salah. Moses having superior pace is questionable but there's no point being better at dribbling and quicker if there's no end product, no? I still remember Moses' final product can be extremely frustrating, especially his crossing (and that's what people are complaining about Schurrle now too).
  13. That may be true but let's also not forget that we are competing for much bigger things this season. We weren't even in the title race and Champions League then. Moses is a decent player but it's like people have forgotten they actually moaned about him and I'm pretty sure some even said he's not good enough for us. Moses has played more minutes than Schurrle this season (at least in the league) and he's hardly been blowing defenders away but because Schurrle is awful right now, people suddenly think Moses can do the job for us? That was always going to be the case when you don't play the player (Schurrle or not) often enough. The point would have been much more valid had Schurrle played a lot but still not putting in consistent performances.
  14. He should be banned for asking the silliest question in 2015!
  15. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/01/fa-cup-fixture-news.html Our FA Cup 4th round tie will be played on 24th January, Saturday. If we play Millwall, then the KO time will be 1pm. If Bradford, KO at 3pm. Millwall will face Bradford in the replay on Wednesday, 14th January.

  17. Even a squad player does get game time to get their rhythm, form and confidence. The downside of us having a really settled starting XI is that situation isn't happening. You can't expect players to come in and perform like turning on/off a tap water, especially when these players are hardly at their peak (the situation at City is probably an ideal comparison perhaps). Moreover, looking at the number of minutes Schurrle (or anyone else for that matter) has had is misleading. Only a few of them were starts while others have been in the final parts of matches.
  18. Did anyone watch the presser? It's either Holland or the person managing the Twitter account had a brain malfunction.
  19. I know. My point was, at least Schurrle has shown what he can do since he joined. So, he can be a useful option if he regains his form. We have seen what Salah can do but that was mostly in the Swiss league. Not objecting that but who can we realistically get in January? Plenty of names being thrown around but not easy to buy in this transfer window unless we put in a big offer. Schurrle's flaws aside, when you are only given the time to play one game here, one there and not being able to get any game time going, you are bound to struggle for form. One of the major reasons we have been doing so well this season is because we have a fixed starting XI. We were definitely going to get problems when the squad players come in and perform poorly as they couldn't get any rhythm going. Weren't we linked with Willian but we just didn't pursue him strongly at that time? If only getting a replacement was that easy..
  20. And his Basel form was more than a year ago. Hasn't convinced when playing for us (apart from the Stoke game last season).
