  1. Ha. So predictable. The way people have been talking about it like it's a given.
  2. This transfer window? Doubt it. Who can we realistically get anyway?

  5. And people thought we were going to thrash them at the Lane...
  6. Gotta thank Gerrard for announcing his Liverpool departure at the right time. Took away all the attention of this defeat and the fact City have closed the gap on us for the time being..
  7. Manuel Pellegrini hints Frank Lampard could stay at City next season If true, I don't even know what to say anymore...
  8. Funnily enough, the media hasn't run a campaign on that.
  9. Done. Your login name remains the same.
  10. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will give some of their key players a rest this weekend
  11. Some people are taking that post too seriously. Where's the fun people?!
  12. Why is it that when people defend Willian, Salah and Schurrle has been mentioned more often than not? Seems a rather convenient defence. When I said 'our other AMs' earlier, I meant Hazard and Oscar given those two are the first choices in the team. Yes, Willian is there to provide balance, he's playing because he's a workhorse, got tactical awareness etc but which ever way one spins his role, it still doesn't hide the fact his offensive contribution is almost non-existent. Like I mentioned as well, let's act as if Mourinho doesn't give Willian the license to attack. He does but Willian has been poor at it. Take out those abusive and 'Cahill Out' one-liner posts, some of the responses have been more than decent and justifiable especially given the performances of Cahill lately. And by the way, I didn't mean to insult or anything like that when I said 'if you read through carefully' in the last post.
  13. Yeah but like I said, Willian does get into the penalty box (so do our other AMs) but nothing good seems to come from him in the final third, be it scoring, assisting or providing the killer passes. Oscar's role is similar to his and yet his goal/assist return is much better than Willian and mind you, not all of the former's goals/assists came from set pieces. Massive overreaction and witch hunt? No. If you read through carefully, people have brought up this point long before the defeat yesterday. Same goes for the Cahill debate really.
  14. TBF, they haven't been that bad against us at WHL in recent years. Suffered only 1 league defeat since the 05/06 season.
  15. http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/news/article/chalobah-returns-to-chelsea-2178081.aspx Burnley have ended Chalobah's loan. He's now back at the club.
  16. Honestly, on current form, I wouldn't even classify the Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham games being tough for City. Everton have been poor this season. Liverpool are still unpredictable. And Tottenham have been absolutely rubbish in recent games against City.
  17. We get it. Willian is in the starting XI to provide balance and we aren't exactly disputing that. But let's not pretend as if Mourinho just tells Willian to stay in the defensive half and don't go forward. He's got the license to go forward but when he does, there's nothing productive and decisive coming from him in the final third. What people need to understand here is that, we get his role in the starting XI but we also want more productive return from Willian. Nobody is asking him to be a goal and assist machine, scoring and creating in every game. No. Just contribute more in attack with the goals, assists and other aspects offensively, because let's face it, 2 goals and 2 assists in 24 matches (came in just 2 games) isn't exactly a very impressive return, is it? To make a comparison, look at Oscar. He's also in the team, playing the No.10 role to provide balance and even though he's not exactly very consistent, he's still able to chip in a few goals and assists here and there. If he can do that, then why can't Willian?
  18. Dropping Schurrle from the starting XI yesterday after his poor performance at Southampton is fine. But to drop him completely from the matchday squad looked like a misjudgment, given Tottenham were playing a high line and Schurrle could have been used to exploit that better.
  19. Our midfield has been protecting the back 4 yes but Matic isn't the only one doing that, is he? Fabregas himself hasn't always been 100% convincing from a defensive point of view, especially when it comes to putting in challenges. Moreover, what does it say about our defence if they rely so much on the midfield to protect them? It's almost tragic to see our back 4 (except Azpi) backing off runners every time and not knowing what to do.
  20. You are right. Both of Willian's league goal and assist came in the same against Aston Villa, back in September! And he's actually made 19 appearances in the league for us this season. So, he practically has 0 goals and 0 assists in the other 18 matches. In fact, in 24 appearances in all competitions, Willian has 2 goals and 2 assists only and each pair came in one game - vs Aston Villa and the Schalke in the Champions League.
