By the way lads, if you haven't noticed, City go to Anfield next weekend...
-
Of course I know what adrenaline is! Was only judging by the way he walked off after that. Mind you, I don't blame him at all for reacting the way he did. Was probably shocked by his reaction his anything, given he's one of the calmest players in the team.
-
Yeah but 1-0 lead is a dangerous one as they say.
-
True but we still didn't do enough on our part to get the win. Instead, we left it at the hands of someone else and we know what can happen when that happens.
-
If he was really hurt, then I doubt he would have walked without any problem after that.
-
I'll admit that I'm one of those fellas who thinks Matic should not have reacted the way he did. BUT on the other hand, I can understand why he did what he did. What I don't quite get is, why was Matic rolling on the ground for 2-3 seconds after that challenge and then suddenly just got up and charged Barnes down? And oh, he's now going to miss games against Spurs, West Ham (A) and Southampton (H). Oh the joy...

Think most of us had sensed the 1-1 was coming, just not in the manner that it happened. Poor performance really. Costa, Fabregas, Oscar, Cuadrado anonymous.

Not surprising especially when Mourinho decided to go for it with 10 men. That being said, we were a mess already even before the sending off.
-
Poor performance overall from the team - key players went AWOL, horrific passing, individuals not connecting with one another. Martin Atkinson, however though, was diabolical! Absolute joke!!
-
The #CampaignAgainstChelsea is definitely legit. On the other hand, we've been poor despite having the lead.
-
Dortmund won again last night. 3 league wins on the spin now. Good to see.
-
And so is the Leverkusen vs Atletico Madrid game too.
-
Think most of us would like to see that happen but as long as Mourinho is still managing us, doubt we are going to see Luis at LB and Azpi at RB happening any time soon...unless somehow Ivanovic suffers a serious injury (touch wood) or his form/performances go completely downhill. Not sure if this is true but Don Hutchinson mentioned before on PLTV that he once asked Steve Clarke who is Mourinho's favorite player at the club and his response was Ivanovic, because he will run through brick walls/do anything for Mourinho.

Done. Login name remains the same.

This thread really does get embarrassing from time to time (the Costa one is becoming a joke as well). I don't dismiss all the points made to criticize Mourinho as some are valid. But others are made just for the sake of moaning. I also do wonder whether some of you lots here actually have lives outside the Internet or are trying to be keyboard warriors. Every time after we fail to win a big game, it's the same old people coming in here to post the same old narratives, arguments etc, as though this is their first time watching Mourinho and his team play. What is worse, as some have pointed out, is when we do beat one of the big sides, the thread is silent and the usual fellas who criticise Mourinho are nowhere to be seen.

Do people actually believe that or are only advocating that change because Oscar has been below average and Willian (suddenly) has been in good form? I didn't see people were calling for that to happen when Oscar was doing the job well for us. Some fair points made there but I don't think he's steadier in possession than Oscar. Both are average of it and prone to misplacing simple passes...unless of course, you are counting Willian passing backwards when his attempt to dribble fails. Moreover, when we come up against teams who park the bus, Willian is arguably the worst of the three. Never mind not possessing the eye to pick out teammates in tight areas, he doesn't even score enough goals (or provide enough assists) to suggest he will do a decent job in that no.10 position. Our approach changes from game to game - be on the front foot against the smaller teams and play on the counter against the bigger ones - and Willian has the qualities as the no.10 with the latter approach but not with the former.
-
No but there were certainly spaces for us to break into, especially against a possession-based side like Everton, and that's when Willian could cause some damage.
-
Well, I wouldn't blame him for trying to be creative last season. Clearly, he was acting under the instructions of Mourinho.
-
He is only suitable to play as a no.10 when we play on the counter, when there is plenty of space for him to drive into. Otherwise, he's useless in that position, especially when we play against the lesser sides.
-
Willian is like so overrated as a no.10 at the moment. He certainly isn't going to turn into some creative machine when he can't create chances on a consistent basis out wide.
-
Of course he would get chances again. The only question was, how many of them would he have gotten? Considering how things work with Mourinho, he certainly wasn't going to get a lot compared to some other players.
-
It's genuinely funny whenever the media and pundits praise Ivanovic for his defensive qualities, when he tends to make at least one mistake in every game.
-
Not worried about Costa's Champions League goalscoring record. Not yet anyway I guess. Would have been worried if he wasn't getting into goalscoring positions but he has and has just been unlucky so far. The goals will come and I won't be surprised if it is in the return leg against PSG.
