  1. Yes to the first one, maybe leaning towards yes for the second. I will admit I harboured a dislike for him for a while, because he displaced my favourite player of all time, Drogba, and because we signed him from the Scousers. I couldn't get to watch many games last season as it was a very busy year for me, so I had to read to catch up on the goings on. Torres had been playing really poorly and because I hadn't seen him play I was assuming that he was just a git. When I started watching him proper, this season, I started warming to him as he wasn't a lazy idiot and now I actually like him. So while I think he's past it, I still hope I'm wrong. If that makes any sense.
  2. So, another false dawn then. Good run for 4-5 games then he fucks it up for 6 months.
  3. Real and Barca just like to hog talent. They'll buy him and let him rot on the bench.
  4. Thats fake, its tapping up and we'd face a transfer ban for it.
  5. I'll have you know that Mata lost the ball more than Kalou did tonight. He lost it 26 times by my count, Kalou an enormously better 8 times. He created bugger all and every time Kalou played him in he was offside. Poor show.
  6. On the topic of women's football, Hope Solo
  7. Just saying thats how bad our entire attack was tonight. I'd give Mata and Torres 3.5-4/10 each, Kalou 5.5 or 5.6/10.
  8. Let it go, both of you, its only grammar, lol.
  9. You're having a laugh. I'll say this again, Kalou was by far our best attacker on the night. By enormous magnitudes. He was Lionel Messi in comparison to Emile Heskey and Ali Dia.
  10. Come on, TX. There are always a couple of wankers that support any club. The rest are by and large decent, intelligent people. And yes, I agree about the travesty of Ovrebo-gate.
  11. 2 votes for Mata? Cole, for me. Great in the first half.
  12. Brilliant I have so many people I need to rep, I went over my limit at half time
  13. Its true though. It'll be like that for a long time, until women are accepted in the mens football scene. I'd imagine it would have been the same with female bus drivers and construction labourers and tradesmen (or tradeswomen).
  14. We need more female fans posting in this thread
  15. Well said. Remember, all it takes to beat Barcelona is to park the bus away, and then hope for a fluke goal at home. Man Utd set the blueprint, we copied it down to perfection, Inter Milan modified it a bit, and now it's up to us to keep that tradition going. One striking fact about those three teams I've listed is that around the period of those game, the central defensive partnership was probably the best in the world. Vidic-Ferdinand, Terry-Carvalho, and Samuel-Lucio.
  16. Thanks again to everyone who voted for me and congratulations to all those who were nominated, you were all great this month
  17. Its amazing how far the quality of world football has slumped so badly since the 2006 World Cup that this Barcelona side are considered the greatest ever team. Rijkaard's lot were miles ahead of this squad. Even Arsenal circa 2005 had a better team, IMO. Every major English team is currently paying their worsts squads in 15 years, and they're still competitive. Makes you wonder just how poor the Premiership clubs need to be for the others to catch up.
  18. What do they expect? All the players are men. The vast majority of coaches, scouts, etc. are men. Obviously in such a male-dominated environment there's going to be some sexism. They're not used to having women around. Having said that, I can bet Eva gets treated as an equal
  19. True, but instead, the dippers had to play us. That Chelsea team would lol this Barcelona team back to the 1930s where their tactics belong. Makelele would shut Xavi out of the game, William Gallas would have made a fool out of Messi and Drogba-Robben-Duff would have absolutely had a ball playing their fragile, shit, back 4.
  20. But you have historically been the little brother, yes? Very good club but always in the shadow of the two Lisbon teams?
  21. We're out against Barcelona if we play this bad. Lucky that Benfica didn't beat us, and there is a wide gulf in class between us and Barcelona. What will work for us though is that Barcelona's defenders are utter wank. Alves and Abidal are ok, but Pique and Puyol are hopeless these days.
  22. I can see why Porto are obsessed with you. It's the small brother syndrome. It means a huge deal to them to beat you. Not so for us, we don't have an obsession with anyone, we've always been at least equal to our rivals (except Arsenal).
  23. I agree. He was too free with those yellow cards. I know technically, he's right to book them for arguing but how often do you see that happen? And he was inconsistent, if he was going to be picky and give out bookings for stupid things, then Jesus should have been booked for leaving the technical area. It was a poor performance from him. And he was really bad with his free kicks tonight. Played advantage at the wrong times, or brought it back for the foul at the wrong times.
