The Official TC 'We don't hate Man City thread'
capriccioso replied to capriccioso's topic in General Chat
So you'll hate anyone if they're a barrier to our progress? And you'll hate anyone for factors out of their control? City fans did not fly over to Abu Dhabi, pull down the Sheikh's trousers and give him a blowjob to get him to buy the club. He bought it as an investment vehicle and/or so he can go to his billionaire mates and say "I own a football club, beat that". Hatred for City for this reason is as irrational as hatred for Chelsea for Roman buying us and catapulting us onto the world stage. We had no foundation before Abramovich, we were on the verge of liquidation and doing a Leeds. Also, like fuck Hazard would ever have signed for us. He would have chosen United if City were still mid table. We lost Aguero, Silva, Toure etc. because of management inertia. We didn't swoop in for them when we should have. We weren't in competition with City when they made their bids for them, we had Andre 'I must assess the squad' Villas-Boas and Carlo 'no spine' Ancelotti in charge when those signings happened. Finally, we had no chance in the league this season. No chance. City and United finished level on points. We would have still come 5th behind a massive gap to 1st. Your competitiveness argument will make sense when we go into the final day level on points at the top with City, or when we are genuinely making a bid to sign a player that City too are interested in. -
Meh. They can select who they want, it'll still be a group stage/quarter final exit. Inb4 England win it just to make me look an idiot.
-
Nope. They would much rather see the Yids in the CL than see us be the first London team to lift it.

They have a vested interest in the Champions League, having provisionally qualified for it. Spurs are a fairly good sized club, anyway. -

So cynical. Anyone who thinks City will dominate football for millenia needs only to look as far as The Greatest Team of All TimeTM to see an example of a team that was supposed to dominate football perpetually because of Messi and a fantastic youth set-up. It's not right to hate a club just because they're challenging you for trophies or will hypothetically relegate Chelsea to runner up status. For me, I will never hate another club unless I disagree with their culture entirely, or if they show fierce, prolonged hatred for us. -

The Tottenham thread is the worst of them all, even worse than RAWK; especially when you consider the first 30 or so posts were before Spurs finished 4th. I see I forgot to send a link for that, here it is: http://www.thefighti...d-t2155-60.html The Official Come On Bayern Munich Thread QPR are irrelevant. I wanted to talk about the major clubs and clubs we've fucked over on our way to the Final. -

And for the record, I don't hate Arsenal either. I don't like them and it doesn't hurt me to see them underachieve but hate is a strong word reserved only for Liverpool, Tottenham and QPR. -

Take them all if necessary. It still won't change my view. I read the thread. The only reason given for not wanting Chelsea to win is because Terry is the most unpopular footballer in England. Huge overreaction if you were genuinely thinking banning me for nothing other than failing to hate a club you hate. I am disappointed, but I don't expect better having seen your posts in the AFL thread. -
Yes, I understand what you mean. You are throwing the cake at me, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Don't insult City. They sold out Maine Road even when they were in League One.
-
They have a thread called "Come on Chelsea" on Bluemoon. No other non-Chelsea forum has such a thread.

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=257411 Class fans. Good on them for not being tribal.
-
City fans are class. Probably the set most sympathetic to us in the PL. I think Ramires would be fairly poor as a DM. He'll be stifled, he won't be able to go on those long dribbles with the ball as it'll leave us too open. It's better to leave that job to players like Mikel who are more responsible and are satisfied with having little impact going forward.

That will help, but I'm still counting on him to bottle any chances that do come his way. -

Forget fatigue, this is the last game of the season. They can dig out one last brilliant performance for 120 minutes if need be. -

Very nice, Shane! You're being harsh on yourself., that's a great article! If I were to nitpick, you've used one of my pet peeves by capitalising words in the middle of sentences that don't need to have capitals. But I'm OCD about that kind of thing, so don't take it as an insult

More than that is at stake. France is in danger of losing it's cultural, racial and historical identity because of over-immigration. Immigration is great if it happens to a New World country, like America or Australia, because we have no culture anyway. One day people in France will not see events like Le Tour or the French Open or the Louvre as key parts of France's culture. And that will be a sad day for the world. I'm not self-hating or anything but as the son of migrants, I am happy to have been born outside Europe and Asia, where immigration is causing vast upheavals and changing the perception of those places.

Regardless of how many times he spinned after hitting the turf, it was still a foul that won the penalty. It was a shin hack, the Olympiakos player could have been booked for that.
