Good news.

Wow, just looking at the difference in the lead up to the game on Chelsea and Juventus forums. You could have sworn we are a relegation club not the Champions of Europe. Small club mentality is etched into some of your minds unfortunately. Juve fans are talking about trashing us and here we are in fear, talking about how it will be difficult and must show them respect. lol some of you are acting like Pussies and are down right Embarrassing. On their forums they are talking about our reactions to them and how we are scared. Sheesh enough is enough, I ain't biting my toung to please some idiots on here. Let's play like we know we can and give them a beating. We are a better team with better players. We know that and they know that.

The Problem in Chelsea 4-2-3-1 Formation
KonohasOrangeFlash replied to ╫rue Blue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Playing the same personnel could cost RDM his job. He needs to integrate youth into the team. Players like Oscar and Romeu should be top of the list. -
Always an option but a bit down the list.
-
Moutinho is more a creative CM and Regista whereas I think we need a strong DM.
-
To be honest we could have had 3 penalties. All which would have been given any other place (just about) but since its Loftus Road filled with those blood thirsty junkies... Anyway, anyone else find it a bit worrying that he said 'we controlled the game reasonably well'. What game was he watching? We struggled to keep possession when pressed and QPR had more possession. Its a concern that he doesn't see the same problems we do. Again, I ask the question, is he manager material? Time will tell. Let's see how he goes about the next 2 games.
-
To put it simply, what that QPR game showed and what we will continue to see if we play Ramires and Bertrand on the wing is that Hazard is too fluid to be tied down. He is best when drifting in from/out to the left. With Bertrand and Rambo on the wings it tied Hazard down into the Attacking Midfield position, which although he likes playing, he needs more creative freedom to roam. Rambo and Bertrand obviously won't switch wings, drift around and interchange as they are rigid and functional wingers. Hazard looks more threatning when he is roaming around as his movement is hard to track. He can also be great on the wings. Anyone seeing the trend here? When Hazard is asked to play Solely as an AM or winger he isn't quite as good. When he is allowed the freedom to do both he can be jaw droppingly brilliant. Much like how Oscar drifts around central midfield, Eden drifts around the final third in order to get amongst the action or find different ways and angles of attack. Which defenders to get at. (Do not tie him down, but rather, release the Kraken!) This is why to get the best out of Hazard, 2, even 3 attacking players need to be playing together. It would be desirable if we had a threatning Striker with great movement. I don't think Torres quite brings that so if we got a Cavani/Falcao it would help our attacking players like Hazard quite a lot. At the beginning of the season we were talking about a Hazard and Mata partnership and I think we are realising how important they will both be to one another in order to play at their best. With Oscar (especially), Marin or Moses it would help even more. The fluid movement will make it almost impossible to mark them and Hazard out of the game.
-
A lot of praise for Moses but I would just about always prefer Oscar in the starting 11 over him. Of course Moses should play when a player is injured or resting or when we are up against a compact opponent or even against Juventus as they play 3 at the back. Also we should bring him on a lot around the 60 minute mark. Unless he does some great stuff I can't see where he would start (Unless Oscar plays in the Pivot).
-
True. We have Lukaku I guess. Plus the likely possibility of buying a Striker in January. We could buy a midfielder as well but this is all in the future and hypothetical. We'll only face each other twice so it comes down to who has the best starting 11 and who plays the best.
-
I guess but we have very good depth in defence and attack.
-
I would say our Defence when at its best is better, the midfield I suggested not far behind yours, attack lightyears better, your goal keeper a bit better and we have a lot better depth just about everywhere except midfield until recently.
-
I don't think your team is as good as ours in General... Pressing, I think is something Hazard, Mata and Oscar can do but constantly tracking back is not what they should be doing.
-
Attackers do minimal defending. This is true for most top teams.
-
Oscar should start the game as far as I'm concerned. Its not like we have a lot of possession orientated CM's. However RDM will use 4-2-3-1 and Mikel and Lampard for probably 40 games straight and burn them out.
-
Again I'll say, attackers don't need to defend. If they do its a Bonus. Its not a pre-requisite. A midfield of Ramires-Mikel-Oscar could be as good as Juventus's.
-
His performances for Brazil speak for themself. He is class. I don't know why you are bringing up Ramires. Oscar is not in direct competition with Ramires. They should play in the same midfield (in a 4-3-3).
-
Bendtner is mediocre no matter how you look at it.

The Problem in Chelsea 4-2-3-1 Formation
KonohasOrangeFlash replied to ╫rue Blue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
4-3-3 should at least be tried by RDM. If we continue to play 4-2-3-1 at least use players in their correct positions and drop Lampard from the Double Pivot. -
The way DaLenny explains it shows us 4-3-3 would win us this game. It would nullify Juventus in just about every area. 3 against 3 in midfield with the two wings backs often being occupied with the front 3 of Mata, Torres and Hazard so meaning Juventus won't always have a midfield 5. We can bring on Moses (for Mata) at any time to trouble them at the back even more with pace. Cech Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole Oscar Mikel Ramires Hazard Torres Mata Mikel and Ramires would need to really get at Pirlo and stop him from playing. There is speed, defense and possession in that midfield. A nice balance which we need to try and match Juventus's midfield. I don't think 4-2-3-1 is the right formation to match a team who plays 3-5-2 really well. There are minor weaknesses to us playing 4-3-3, like any system. That weakness is the potential that Hazard and Mata keeping the wing backs busy means that them tracking back weakens Juventus's midfield yet bolsters their defence a bit with 5 at the back against 3. However I think this is the best option as Juventus's midfield is their greatest strength. 4-3-3 has the least weaknesses against 3-5-2 and as a system in general.
-
From a key player into borderline Liability. Feel sorry for Ramires and what RDM is doing to him.
-
I'd classify the recent Newcastle match as his only 'really good game'.
-
Potentially but we will likely play at least one defensive winger and RDM will probably ask Mata and Hazard to track back. If we don't use any defensive wingers then we can keep your wing backs and defense occupied which is another way to combat your midfield.
-
Do you think 3 at the back will leave your defense exposed?
-
Marin is injured/not match fit.
-
Us cracking under the scrutiny of constant pressing yet not pressing the opposition back is so frustrating.
