What do you base this on, his transfer record is 15m for Arshavin, what makes you think they will spunk 40m on either of these players? Guys, just because he plays for a poor team (not club) doesn't make him a poor player. I don't expect him to be a world beater or to replace JT long term, but he would be a marvelous squad player, and leagues are won by the strength of the squad not the starting 11.

He's no world beater but at 7m he's a very decent squad player with good value, homegrown and relatively young. If anyone thinks he will replace JT long term is frankly, wrong.

I really didn't want Torres either. Especially for 50m. But the main reason was because of Aguero, at 22-23 years of age and everybody knew he wouldn't stay at Atletico for long. No doubt we will probably buy Aguero in 5 years for 120m when he's off form and shite.

AVB has hindered the results far more than Lampard has.
