It's now been almost a year and I am still in shock and disbelief that we blew 50m on him. The footballing world is truly strange, in fact, I think regular people would make better managers/owners based on the transfers that occured in these past few years. It looks like he will leave this January, and for a fee of 25-30m, I'd drive him to the destination myself. One thing is true though, Torres is a confidence player. And anyone who thinks you will get confidence from sitting on the bench + playing 7 minutes is completely wrong.

The media in this country is useless. When they could be asking Sir Red Nose whether his team is "struggling" in Europe (lol, to be fair I reckon they will be doing just fine on chanel 5) for comical value, they make up crap instead. This is just bizarre, why would someone force someone else to celebrate in a way? It's a rush of emotion and would be really stupid to control it, as long as it's not abusive or vulgar. They can celebrate after the game. These are individual human beings and should be allowed to celebrate how they want!

Chelsea did win 2-0 on my football manager save to be fair. Ramires double.
-
Rvp was rubbish prior to last season averaging 4-8 goals a season in the league. Now he is truly amazing, however at 29, doesn't represent a good buy for anyone.

The amount of great chances Suarez misses are astonishing. I agree with you on his other qualities, but he is not a clinical finisher. As for Hernandez, like I say, very good poacher but not a top striker who could contribute far more to a team. Think we should try Ba, reminds me a lot of pre-Chelsea Torres, but he has some knee problems IIRC? Might be risky

Hernandez is not even close to aguero or van persie. He's just a tap in specialist with otherwise no remarkable footballing qualities. Aguero can take on his man and make a great pass, or strike a magical ball from the edge of the box. Hernandez can't, he's one dimensional and while he has great off the ball movement (great requirement for a striker) he will never be anything more than that As for Suarez, his finishing is woeful, and again not near the top strikers in the league. The top five are: Dzeko, RVP, Balo, Aguero and Ba

Aguero went for 15m less than our pretty boy bench warmer and is 1000000x times superior to him at the moment. He is also heads above any other striker in the league bar RVP (who is 29), any agent fees or his wages would have been worth it.

Very mediocre player, but for 7m a good deal. Would be a good rotational player, would likely do a great job against the likes of stoke, everton, Norwich, etc but would be out of his depth against European heavyweights. Silva from Milan for me, if we want a great CB. But would probably cost too much.
-
Of course he won't. Because we won't go for him @ 50m. If we havent learned our lesson, I will be truly disappointed.

People overrating Napoli. A great side but IMO inferior to the likes of Arsenal and Milan. This always happens because of the hype, I said last year that Dortmund would crash and burn in the CL, everyone else disagreed and said they would make the Semis at least.
-
Hopefully someone takes them off our hands. 25-30m would be great.

Steve Kean is a woeful manager and deserves all the abuse he gets. You and Arry should be ashamed of yourselves. He took a top ten team and made them into relegation fodder. He should never have been promoted in the first place - why would an inexpirienced coach be promoted to PREMIER LEAGUE manager? Smells of corruption. The owners seem like they couldn't give a second sh*t about the fans nor the club. They gave him an improved contract on large wages after he only had one win all season! The guy will bring them down and the owners will asset strip their club, sending them to league one with loads of debt. They have agents leeching off them who get 400% add-on fee that goes to their pocket of the players value. The swansea game just masked a truly pathetic record. A bit off-topic I know, but the man is a joke of a manager, and Blackburn fans should rightly be aggrieved. Also, Redknapp is completely correct about AVBs complains.

Mata as a central striker Drogba as an attacking midfielder Lol
-
He's really digging into them, which is IMO over the top and not needed. I found the comment about Luiz hilarious because it's partly true. He has been a ridiculous centreback in many matches and it would border on delusional to suggest otherwise. Fortunately the English media love huge d*cks and managers who regularly spout nonsense/abuse, so AVB is on the right track.
-
Sturridge must work on his teamwork in this game. Too many times he decides to go on his own when Mata/Meireles/Lampard/Drogba/Ramires are arriving late in the box unmarked and begging for a cutback
-
Lol, the one with the Europa League logo on it?
-
The only three teams that worry me are Barca, Madrid and Bayern. Should two of them be drawn later on, I'd be very happy.
-
No way should we pay these fees, like the ones Palermo or santos delusional chairman wants. It is utterly insane. Mata is a different player IMO, and he left for far less. We should be aiming for players like Sturridge, Ramires, Mata, Romeu, etc. Young but ready to step up to first team football, players with potential with a transfer fee of 5-20m at most Screw gotze, neymar, hazard etc. Great players but not value for money.
-
Not that it matters, but assuming he plays on the left or left midfield, surely a Malouda replacement? Can't see him staying here tbh

Ok let's put things in an optimistic perspective -they are out of the group stages, hardly a sign of a top team -we are at home -we just comfortably beat a side that drew with Barcelona and narrowly lost to Real Madrid (who are better than City) -we are gaining form and haven't conceded in three matches, scoring 9 goals in the process -city haven't had a clean sheet in 7 consecutive games in the PL (not sure this one is correct but I could of sworn I saw it on BBC preview) -they are on a morale drop
