^ I'd take Cuadrado at the club any time, excellent little player.

Come on Chelsea, give me a nice birthday present.

"Chelsea Kulübü'ne yakın bir kaynak olan Talkchelsea.net'te yazılan bir habere göre Chelsea ile THY'nin forma sponsorluğu rafa kalkmak üzere. Chelsea'nin daha önceden sponsorluğu bulunan Delta Havayolları kulübün gelecek sezonki forma sponsoru olabilir. Türk Hava Yolları ise gelecek yıl yan sponsor olarak Chelsea'nin destekçisi olacak." They did. No idea what it says there but TC is mentioned.

Not sure if that just means you're clueless or if it really is a relatively unknown company. Something in the world of finance would be my guess. A bank, an insurance company or something along those lines. United had AIG and AON while Liverpool have Standard Chartered. All companies the average person does not really know that well but all definitely have the money and their logo can look good on a shirt.

Didn't know Benfica were based in Turkey.

Di Marzio was saying earlier that Chelsea, together with Leicester, were still very much a part of the negotiations for Kramaric and if that's true I believe there could be a first option or a fixed buy-out clause for us to get him in the near future if he proves to be successful at Leicester and if not, the club haven't lost any money either way. Sounds good to me.

Much like Lampard his public image used to be spotless and because of that people have always considered him a nice guy but the reality seems to be something else entirely. Don't know whether being the best player in the world changed him at some point or if he has always been like that behind the scenes but judging by reports from the last few years he really is a cunt of the highest order. Either way I'd still take him any day if it was a serious option but as of yet I'm far from being convinced that it is. Over the course of next few weeks we will see Luis Enrique sacked and replaced by some puppet who Messi has agreed to work with and before summer Messi will also be getting his annual contract extension with higher wages than before. We all know that's what is going to happen here so don't get your hopes up, lads.

It's obviously Messi.

Muppet season has officially begun.

He was part of our squad but he didn't play. It's much like in the CL, a player can be registered to the squad but he only gets cup tied when he plays so in this case Torres has only represented Milan this season and is free to play for another club should he make a move in January. Will be interesting to see how the deal works out for us if he indeed does go back to Atletico. Another loan to June 2016 or a permanent transfer?

" Your drinking habits are unlike the average from any country. But your closest match on overall consumption alone is Belarus, the heaviest-drinking country in the world." Whoops, is this bad?

Hell no. Play-offs would make the regular season, and thus most of the season, matter much less than it does now and a team that has been shit throughout the season could still fluke the title in the end by overachieving in the last few games when it matters most. When I was younger I used to watch some ice hockey, mostly NHL but also our domestic Finnish league, and I don't like the play-off system at all. Most teams just surf through the regular season without putting in much effort and whether a team finishes first or eighth in the table doesn't really affect their chances of winning the title so only when the play-offs begin they start to give 100%. The way it is now in football every single game matters the same and the champion could be decided by just one or two results so everyone has to give everything they got in every game, be it QPR at home in August or Manchester United away in May. However, I do like the way some football leagues have play-offs for deciding European places or relegation so I think something like that could be successfully implemented for the PL as well. For example a Championship style promotion play-off between the teams that finish in places 4-7 could be used to determine the last team to qualify for the CL and at the other end of the table there could be some kind of a play-off played between the places 15-18 to decide the third relegated team with teams in 19th and 20th relegated automatically.

True, and if they can survive the games against Spurs and Newcastle without picking up yellow cards they're both free to get themselves suspended for the League Cup game in which they would probably not feature either way. I think we could manage Derby with Ramires and Mikel / Ake in the pivot.
-
Does anyone still think it was a bad idea to bring him back? Fantastic option to have on the bench.
-
Did Costa get injured again? He signalled to the bench that he wanted to go off and walked straight down the tunnel after doing so. Either he was feeling some discomfort in his hamstring again or he didn't want to keep on playing and didn't even bother to stick around to watch the rest of the game.

Who's the player leaving Chelsea for Besiktas?
Jype replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Salah would be my guess. I don't think Besiktas could afford to buy him though, so if a deal has been agreed it's probably going to be a loan. -
Oh for fucks sake, just made a live bet on Southampton to win after watching them batter Villa for 25 minutes but not managing to score and then Agbonlahor scores 30 seconds later.
-
Glad for the nomination but he's not going to win, this is Neuer's year. No worries though, Neuer is six years older and the fact that we can even compare them for who's the best in the world is amazing because Neuer at 22 was nowhere near Courtois' current level. Thibaut will have plenty of opportunities to claim this title in the years to come, maybe after we win the CL again some day. On another note, what on earth have Casillas and Bravo done to get nominated ahead of players like De Gea and Lloris? Just because they play for Barcelona and Real Madrid does not automatically make them the best in the world.
-
Wrong. If we draw our remaining two games we'll top the group regardless of the other results. If both Schalke and Sporting were to get a point from us and three from Maribor, Schalke will end up with 9 points and Sporting at 8 points whereas we'd have 10. Unless Schalke or Sporting beat us there's no way either of them could finish in first place.
-
That doesn't really mean anything. Did anyone really expect Mourinho to just say at this point in the season "I think our current players are shit and we're doing everything we can to bring in a quality player like Reus" when any potential deal is still very, very far from being completed and there's still a long time before the transfer window even opens. That being said I don't believe for a second that we'll get him be it in January or next summer but Mourinho denying everything means very little.
-
Incoming and outgoing transfers work out differently. When a player gets sold the received transfer fee is, after writing off any remaining book value, counted as a one-off profit but the fee for a bought player is divided equally to the length of the contract. Basically if both Luiz and Fabregas were included in the 13/14 books, the profit from selling Luiz was around £36m but the cost of Fabregas would only have been a 1 / 60 fraction of the £27m transfer fee and a few weeks worth of his wages, totaling less than £1m.
-
Okay, well that sucks. Despite that at the moment I’m still feeling slightly sceptical about reports saying it was included because by my math it shouldn't have been, guess we’ll have to wait till December 31st when the club has to release a full report on the financial year 13/14 to know for certain. If the Luiz money indeed was there, then it'll be interesting to see what the result for next year will be like because the income from player sales would again be much, much lower with only Lukaku as a noticeable outgoing transfer.
-
He's not coming to Chelsea, let's not do this to ourselves guys because we'll only going to end up disappointed when he joins Bayern next summer.
-
The Luiz money was not included. I made a post on page 14 explaining why I think so and at the time was like 90% sure but since reading Jake Cohen's article analyzing the figures I am now 100% certain of it. Because the transfer did not become official until the 1st of July 2014, no payments were made by PSG before that date so it would be ridiculous to include any money from the sale in the financial reports for the 13/14 year. Including it would be almost comparable if the club had a year ago counted the £££ from the improved PL broadcasting deal for the 12/13 financial year to make it look better than it really was just because they knew the money was coming in sometime later. For the 14/15 financial year the club already have a £62.3m 'profit' from the sales of David Luiz, Romelu Lukaku, Demba Ba, Patrick van Aanholt and George Saville. We may also see some players being sold in the January window so that figure may still rise. Even now the amount is roughly £25m more than the sales profits from the whole 13/14 season so assuming the club's expenses stay pretty much the same with newcomers such as Costa and Fabregas merely replacing former expensive players like Lampard, Cole, Eto'o, Luiz then I see no problem for the club in making an even bigger total profit next year. It's true that we can't rely on making such significant sales every year while also remaining competitive but for the next year or so we're pretty much set with the sales we've already made now and then there's the army of loanees like Ryan Bertrand, Victor Moses, Oriol Romeu, Lucas Piazon and Marco van Ginkel, most of whom will almost certainly not have a future at the club but will still produce a significant amount of book profit when sold. And let's not forget the big elephant in the room named Fernando Torres, whose annual £18.5m cost will soon be off the books completely. There will also be new and improved sponsorship deals kicking in every year, for example the rumoured Turkish Airlines shirt sponsorship alone will fetch the club around £10m more annually. I wouldn't be concerned at all about the current situation, quite the opposite really.
