Absolutely. I think we should play a couple of youngsters and those suspended in the CL final for the remaining league matches. Then add a few first team players like Torres and Sturridge into the mix to see if they can find good form in those games which could be a big help for Munich. Torres / Lukaku Ramires - Meireles - Sturridge Romeu - Essien Bertrand - Terry - Hutch - Ivanovic Cech Against Blackburn start with something like that and then bring on at least Piazon and Chalobah to make their first team debuts. For the Liverpool match I'd start with pretty much the lineup intended for Munich to see how well they play together against a decent opponent.

We could be drawn against AVB's team as early as next season if Roma qualify to the Europa League.

That's why I said in my earlier post "it's time for Chelsea to finally start doing business wisely" or something like that. With the FFP rules kicking in this year it's much better if we spend £10m on a player who's just as good as some proven star playing at a top club who costs 3x the amount. If Chelsea's board and scouts can't see this then they should be sacked because they are incompetent cunts who do not deserve to run this football club. Of course we all know of their incompetence already and nothing is changing so moaning is pointless but still...
-
I know and I only used Marin as an example of a player who could be a great addition to the team if he succeeds and doesn't even break the bank. The world is full of football players and I'm sure that with good scouts we could find a wonderful striker outside the Premier League who could be just as good as Cisse and would only cost us a fraction of what Cisse would cost if we bought him now when he's already a proven striker in the PL. Why can't we get players like Modric, Cabaye, Cisse etc. before other smaller PL clubs buy them while we just focus on buying expensive has-beens and only become interested in players when they already play for a top club and will cost too much? That's not very good business if you ask me.
-
Way too expensive. Should have bought him in January for £10m but now he'd be something like £30m if not more. Time for Chelsea to buy their own 'Cabayes' and 'Cisses' through good scouting rather than let other teams buy them for pennies and then buy the players from them a year later for triple the price just because the Chelsea board are lazy or incompetent. That being said I think Marko Marin could turn out to be something like Newcastle's recent signings if he makes it at Chelsea. Let's hope he does indeed make it.
-
That's it then, we're fucked.
-
Apparently he's had some sort of a fight with the Napoli chairman De Laurentiis and wants to leave Napoli? I say we let United and City battle it out for Hazard (we wouldn't stand a chance of getting him anyway) and try to buy this guy under the radar like we did with Marko Marin.

Time to lay off the alcohol perhaps.

Of course I'm disappointed but not much to complain about as Newcastle were by far the better side and totally deserved their win. What a player that Cisse. It seems the only chance of Chelsea playing CL football next season is to win at Munich. Not too bothered about missing out on CL for next year if we lose the final because it would be a good chance to rebuild the squad and give the younger players their deserved chance in the first team without the constant pressure of having to win the Champions League but to once again get so close of winning that shiny trophy only to lose it would be heartbreaking.
-
He should have been sold a year ago and most of us would probably have more good than bad memories of him. He was great in the double-winning season 09/10 and last season he was doing okay and was even our leading goal-scorer in the PL but now he's just clueless and we wish he would just leave and make room for younger talents to get their chances. Thanks FloMo for spending five seasons at Chelsea but it's time to move on.
-
Bertrand starting again. Nice to see him getting a decent amount of games under Di Matteo.
-
Always the one whose win would be more beneficial to Chelsea or get me money from my bets but other than that I don't care who wins. Liverpool are the exception to that because I always want them to lose.
-
In Football Manager his release clause was £21m and we all know that if FM tells us something it has got to be true.
-
Wish him all the best wherever he goes, as long as he's not managing in the Premier League.
-
I believe they made some changes to that ridiculous rule for this season and teams can't be fined for playing a weakened side any more. Of course I could be wrong too but it doesn't matter either way because we all know Liverpool wouldn't be fined for something like that even if the rules hadn't been altered.
-
I thought this thread was supposed to be about Chelsea linking up with a Formula 1 team. Seems to me I was wrong.
-
How on earth can anyone like a Liverpool kit?
-
Would love to have him at Chelsea.
-
Coyle won it in March. April's winner hasn't been officially announced yet but there are a lot of rumours around it's going to be RDM.
-
Apparently he won the Barclays Manager of the Month award. :blue scalf: (Not 100% info yet but rumours on Twitter. Roberto Martinez would be a good choice too...)
-
Maybe he will but we have to be realistic here. Not every team can get Hazard and when there are a lot of good clubs interested in him chances are Chelsea can't sign him, especially if we miss out on the Champions League for next season. If we could sign even one out of Hazard, Hulk, Lavezzi or Kagawa in addition to Marko Marin who we already got then I can't see any reason for fans to whine about and imo we'd just have to be thankful and congratulate the Chelsea board (who we've all slated for many times) for a job well done.
-
There are plenty of fish in the sea. If United get Hazard then it's safe to say they won't be getting Kagawa and then there's of course Lavezzi, Hulk, Muniain etc.
-
That's true but if I'm not mistaken Marin's form at Werder Bremen started to drop after they sold Özil to Real Madrid and Marin was forced to play behind the striker where he's not as effective as in a wing role. So at Chelsea Marin should be used primarily on the wings and then play him in a playmaking role only if all other options are unavailable. I agree with you regarding Modric though. There are plenty of other options available so no there's no reason for us to go and beg for that cunt Daniel Levy to sell us his players.
