  1. Nico Williams. Player with a loose carry, poor vision and passing who likes to flick ball past his opponents and run onto it. Nooooo thanks.
  2. Nico Williams average as fuck. Olise and Duran is perfect.
  3. Our squad now are maturing and growing together. And in turn the players coming in will be understudies and learn. And we will play a particular way and players can just slot in. Takes a while to get up and running but when it does you have players slot in seamlessly like Liverpool and City have had when young guys step in during points of injury. These guys had a rocky start with the Dodgers too and have been super successful since.
  4. In what way? Getting Olise, Duran and Tosin is all good business while getting rid of Ian. If we can sell off Lukaku and Sterling as well, while maybe getting in another piece ready to play now - it would be a good, astute window. We would have Palmer, Olise and Nkunku up front with an improving Jackson. That is a potent, high scoring front 4. Duran has mega potential IMO. Caceido, Enzo, Gallagher and Lavia are a good, improving midfield. Aside from LB, I’d like to see one more CB and it would be a great window. I don’t even know if LB is that pressing considering Colwill or Cucu can start there in Enzos system. Especially if Gusto or James are on the right it gives flexibility for Colwill to be on the left. We came 6th last year with 3 of our 5 best players not really playing.
  5. I’d pick up the phone and put a 2 million bid in for Oblak and Griezmann combined after that bullshit.
  6. Duran is a proper baller. He has a left foot shot that can break through parked buses.
  7. Olise is ideal for us. Works hard defensively, great set piece taker, decent at long shots and has some great vision to break down lower blocks. I'd be bummed if we missed him.
  8. His season was very promising for his age. Literally watched highlights yesterday of our goals and didn't realise how many times he turned a player or had a significant carry before passing it off to someone who then assisted. He really doesn't get the shine for all the good stuff he did. Could he finish better? Yes. Needs to be more decisive. But he keeps putting himself in good positions. Its a numbers game. I'm far more happy with a striker that keeps creating chances for himself and finishes 50% than the one that makes 1 a game and finishes 90%.
  9. You’re never going to have a perfect player in every position. We have serviceable enough options there. We are stacked in some positions. Sometimes the right player isn’t available. But some people on here always want us to buy for the sake of buying. I’m actually keen on the likes of Duran because I don’t see any out and out surefire thing at striker. Jackson is good enough and getting better. Why not sign Duran and see if he fills out potential and see if Jackson continues to grow. Sometimes those expensive options aren’t worth the risk and better to go for potential in meantime. Just need some time and cohesiveness.
  10. Thank goodness. Think he’s highly overrated and will flop the next place he goes.
  11. Mbappe probably gets signed early under current ownership lol.
  12. I feel like this is a fairly responsible and very high energy defensive unit too. I’ve heard good things about Olise and his defensive work rate. I really think Lavia will be an important piece for us. As a midfield buster that breaks the lines a bit.
  13. Olise and Duran. Would be huge. Great business if we get it done.
  14. Duran and Olise would be enough for me this window. A LB and another CB would have been great, but interested to see Cucu play inverted where he shone, and see what happens with Colwill, Fofana and Tosin now there.
  15. Honestly a nice looking map considering the limited minutes and the fact you take into account players need time to build and work into games. He has that bit of stoicism and asshole about him I think we need.
  16. Exactly what I'm reading too. This guy is in the top 1% of non penalty goals per 90. His expected goals per 90 non penalty - is .38 and he slots in .95. I get that its a small sample to go off of, but even watching his highlights and some extended clips, he does a lot of things really well. He seems a bit one footed, but aside from that, off of the little I've seen of both him and Sesko he looked the more talented one.
  17. Duran looks far tidier than Fofana. Looks a proper finisher and someone who can play with their back to goal. Go back and read the comments around the Cole Palmer signing - Duran looks a proper player too.
  18. If Duran is a Shields pick, all for it. I saw the dross posted here when Cole got signed lol.
  19. I don’t think there is many 100 mil players out there I trust to be actually worth that much. No out and out surefire things imo.
  20. If this is a case of Duran going for 50 and Conor goes the other way for 80 we will know what’s up.
  21. They’re all saying he is talented and only second choice because they have their best striker in the last 30 years.
  22. This is the issue. Talent is there. Just a risk at that price. 25 to 30 seems fair. Hopefully we get something in the range for Broja so almost a straight swap.
  23. I actually think Duran looks really good - but it’s a lot for a striker that hasn’t proved much. We got Cole for 40 mil and people were crying on here. So who knows. There is a good player in Duran though. The whole “he can’t play for Villa” thing is overblown. Villa were in a if it ain’t broke don’t fix it mode and they have their best striker they’ve had in god knows how long. Duran could be a big thing. He’s rapid, has great shot power, presses well, and has a bit of asshole about him.
