  1. Tosin was free and you’re complaining. lol… he helps us with actually buying if he is sold later haha. Fans on here are ridiculous. Also I remember people shitting on the board when Gordon was being floated out as an option. Has looked unreal at Newcastle. I get Garnacho is excess but funny seeing the same reaction. Club is trending upwards, ownership is failing fast and correcting their mistakes, our manager has given us an identity of play. Only Liverpool and Arsenal have been better than us this season as far as on field play. Exciting times.
  2. Garnacho is a fine player - but yeah - like others have said he isn't a need if you look at the team. It was a good move getting Trev back for as much as people want to slag management. They admit their mistakes quickly, and get it done. We are still having failures, but we fail fast and get better.
  3. I - unlike others on here - don't think the keeper or striker market is all that great. It was last season when Duran was available for cheap and a few others. Now there are inflated prices. 80% of people on here were screaming for VO and look at the level he is now. Imagine if we got him. Its not like this is ancient history, so the sentiment was easy to remember, but people were talking all kinds of shit if we ended up getting Duran or Gyokeres. Now apparently they are the answer. I hate this nonsense hindsight "I am right" view most take on here. We're heading upwards. We are playing better and have an identity (we know the type of football we can expect in terms of style). We are scoring goals and could score more. We know, and I'm sure the sporting directors know where the issues are - there have been talks about CBs for a while now, and it is clear they will sort it come next season as they follow through on what they talk about. Like what is the issue? No one here is patient at all, and we act like we didn't just have recent success in 2021. It isn't an easy job to turn around a ship of overpaid players, coming off transfer bans, a coach that was letting his personal problems slip into the team, and completely rebuilding the team. We have two top 5 young talents in the world with Cole and Estevao. We have a fantastic midfield. Our offence is potent for the most part already. You'd think we're Manchester United with doom and gloom further on the way if you read this board. Fuck me dead.
  4. I agree with him. Its easy to have blinders on after a bad keeping display - but even recently he has saved us more than he has hurt us. Again - I don't think he is the long term answer, but he hasn't been nearly as bad as people make out.
  5. We're 4th mate, and trending upwards. Not only that we have the youngest team in the league. Maybe let things simmer and build?
  6. It happens. Nothing is guaranteed. We still don't look great but have to turn it around. I still think we play better against the better teams.
  7. In 4th place despite a bad stretch of performances and clearly a few players out and not at their best. People acting like our season has been shite.
  8. Sesko just doesn't look all that great. But whatever... People will act like its finally a striker signing - and then he flops and they will blame the board again for overspending. Everything you read on here is reactionary and spoken completely as if hindsight was available at the time. Its just mind numbing more so than coping with a few losses.
  9. Pure cope acting as if everyone on here wasn't wanting to sell both of them. Just absolute peak revisionist nonsense. Both aren't good enough for here.
  10. City didn't become who they were overnight. Stockpiling talent is part of this to build longer term success, and have interchangeable players in that can just slot in. We're only 3 years removed from a CL win... People are acting as if we've been struggling for years... We're already back in a CL spot after a COMPLETE rebuild that included transfer bans, new ownership, etc. The ownership group has gotten more right than wrong after the first transfer window. We've literally got our core group to push us to the next level for the foreseeable future in Cole, Enzo, Moises, Lavia, Jackson - hell I'd even put Cucu in that. We aren't a load of signings away. 1 or 2 good signings and continued improvement and time together has us competing for a title.
  11. Isak just not good enough. Newcastle need a proper number 9.
  12. This forum overreacts to bad stretches. Yes - we've had a shit run lately. But other teams have, and will go through it as well. It ain't all ups the whole season.
  13. Damn. Our result a couple days ago looks alright now.
  14. A few draws and losses and the forum goes to sooky mode, and doom and gloom. I'll be staying away.
  15. Completely agree. I think Jackson is a scapegoat in this team - especially with the way we set up. I think he is far too valuable to let go. The reality is, the tide of the game is not lost up front, but in the middle. A lot of these other strikers that get lamented for being lethal finishers also get a tonne of chances, which Jackson actually doesn't get as much. Isak missed a bunch of sitters the last Newcastle game I watched a few games back. Literally 2 surefire goals, but no one brings it up because they kept feeding him the ball and he got one to go.
  16. People here are such overreacting drama queens honestly. Calling our sporting directors terrible for a few bad decisions amongst a host of good to great ones is ridiculous. They’ve formed a midfield group that will grow and be the core for years to come. They’ve found a gem in Palmer. They lured Nkunku who unfortunately now doesn’t fit and isn’t what he was. For as much hate as he gets - Jackson has been a fantastic find for cheap. Sancho has been a fantastic find for cheap. Cucu has been tremendous after the teething time. Defence in general needs a bit of work - but dear lord our rebuild has been better and a quicker turn around than most. We’re competing up the top end of the ladder and only need a few tweaks to stay at that next level which we’ve seen at the halfway point we can be at.
  17. Jackson is an easy target. He missed one header and we are blaming him? How about the assist? How about the solo run and hitting the post? Even the header was saved, and I'd say he did the right thing heading it down - but just got saved.
  18. Jackson needs to play but maybe on the LW. He is too good at everything else. He literally made chances by himself today. He’s an absolute hound machine as well. Play him and Guiu together.
  19. We're playing boring football. Need a break and reset for this team.
  20. Yeah - issues the whole time in the middle in the second half. Has happened the last 3 games. Our midfield gets bypassed easily.
  21. I don't mind this sub. We need a forward to keep them pressed.
  22. There is a discrepancy in the way the game is called for both teams.
  23. Palmer has been dog shit on corners. Take him off.
  24. If he got ball - it was barely. That needed a review from the ref. There is no way that was obvious.
  25. Looks like we'll be playing City in peak form again. Up 4-0 against the Hammers.
