But rather than complain and write it off completely, surely people should wait and see what Jose has planned. For all we know he may have decided that KDB/Oscar should be played deeper, or a big bid has come in for Mata etc.
-
Yeah he's had more than two bad seasons since even though he's come 2nd/3rd in the Chelsea poty awards in 2010/11 and 2011/2012.......Not sure if you're making this up to suit your agenda, but Brana has always been a solid RB capable of swinging in a few crosses. Like I said he's had more good games than bad games at RB and if he's average at best he'd have been sold by now and not been a key figure under so many managers
-
So you were saying Ivanovic shouldn't play at RB even in our double winning season when he was the best RB in the country and got in the PFA team of the year? The problem is you're being so selective, the next time he has a good game someone could come on here saying 'this game highlighted exactly why he's an excellent RB'. Fact is Ivan has a lot more good games than bad games at RB, and to say he is average at best there is just a bit silly. He played at CB more last season largely due to Luiz moving to midfield and Terry picking up his injuries and suffering a loss of form. Even then while he's been here, Ivan has seen off competition from Bosingwa (who was good at one stage) and Ferreira
-
Opinions I guess, but 3 or 4 Chelsea managers have disagreed with you
-
My only problem is that he doesn't close down crosses, but for every bad game you get from him, your likely to get three or four good games. You say he gets beaten for pace, yet i've seen him deal with the likes of Nani and Ashley Young. Don't be selective
-
This x100! Remember having to defend him to the hilt last season on here with you. Forgot who it was, but I remember somebody saying Chalobah was already better than him
-
Massive overreaction. If we took this attitude, then Ashley Cole would have played around 20 games last season due to the number of times he got roasted by average wingers like Garath McCleary. It's a bad game, we move on and hope he improves against United
-
Tough team selection. Have United to think about as well Cech Azpi Cahill Terry Bertrand Van Ginkel Essien De Bruyne Mata Schurrle Lukaku Rest Oscar and Hazard for United
-
For me he was probably our best player along with Oscar. Did great in the holding role and kept his discpline
-
Pretty much ran that game in the first half
-
Really think he's quite underrated. Does a good job most of the time at LB
-
It felt like he really slowed down the play once he came on
-
http://instagram.com/p/ch5n5hsvp8/ Training with the 21s at the moment as he has visa problems which means he can't travel to the US to join the squad
-
Seems like Gustavo is really underrated on here......
-
VfL Wolfsburg has a great interest. Dieter Hecking: "We have positioned ourselves. There are signs that Gustavo Bavaria must leave. " After the commitment of Thiago he has no chance of a starting place. But the needs of the Brazilian to play in the 2014 World Cup in their own country. For the first time, he does not rule out an exit: "I am very happy at Bayern, but up to 31 August can happen. " Hecking: "We know that we are not solely interested. If it should work but, wonderful! " Gustavo are also Top Picks from England (Chelsea and Arsenal). Be under 10 million transfer should not be to lift. Perfect: The Belgian Junior Malanda (18/Zulte Waregem) signed through 2018, but until 31.12. borrowed from Waregem. (That's a rough translation)

-
But if he really didn't think he was ready he could have asked for another loan. I also think one reason why he initially said he needs another season is because the club may have told him they were preparing to send him out (think WBA wanted him), but Jose decided against it once he arrived. Well we should wait and see if he's actually 4th choice because things can change quickly if he impresses like they did for Varane at Madrid, and with Terry increasingly picking up injuries and Cahill being Cahill more opportunities may arise for him
-
This all depends on his self-confidence. Just because he is younger doesn't automatically mean he won't have as much self confidence to bounce back from errors. Obviously none of us know how much self-belief he has, but for all we know he might be the type of player that has the mentality to learn from mistakes and get over them "It was the first day of training when Mr Mourinho came to me and asked me if I would accept the challenge to be a first team player and give it everything and, of course, I accepted. I had no doubts. Straight away I said yes. I played for two years in Holland, I played 63 games and another maybe would be worse than better." If he really had strong doubts about being in the squad he could have asked for another loan so he could develop more, but from this quote it sounds like he himself thinks he's ready to step up.
-
Not if the fans are prepared to realise that youngsters need time and are going to make mistakes no matter what. Even our senior players make mistakes (Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Luiz all do it!). I still think it's ridiculous that we're even saying he should be loaned out again for a couple of mistakes in friendlies which are only about picking up fitness and where concentration isn't even likely to be at 100% as the matches are meaningless. If you'd seen the lad at Vitesse these last 2 seasons and especially in his first season, you'd realise that he is in fact ready to make the step up and challenge for a place in this squad. These youngsters have to be bedded in at some point and now is the perfect opportunity for a CB in our squad, and i'd much rather it be Kalas who has proven himself in the last two seasons, playing over 60 games and been a team that put there trust in him at CB, than Omeruo who you suggested whose barely played over 20 games at CB in a competitive league
-
I think you should re-read what 'The only place to be' said mate.........
-
I honestly think some of these supposed mistakes have been exaggerrated or in some cases not even happened (opinions though I guess). The only time his communication skills were lacking was in that first game. His passing has been nothing special like Luiz standard, but then nothing awful, just keeps it simple. The Indonesian striker who created the own goal had also given Cahill and Wallace a few issues during the game too, not just Kalas. Really don't think there's anything to worry about yet
-
Cahill also got raped a couple times by that striker in the last game and I think he can't be blamed for that headed goal. Had he attempted to get a touch on that, I reckon it could have resulted in an own goal. Also shouldn't forget the good bits he's shown this tour such as proving to be decent aerially with his fantastic leap as well as making his fair share of good tackles . The aim of these games first and foremost was fitness, to make a call saying saying we should reconsider him being 4th CB isn't advisable and unfair. On that basis players like Schurrle, Ba, Moses, Ramires should also have there roles reconsidered
-
Bar the own goal (which is something that happens to all players) what else did he do wrong? We weren't tested enough defensively to say he didn't have a good tour. Give the lad some time, he really is great at CB, and obviously Mou has seen that
-
Thought he played his role nicely today. Love his diagonals
-
He can play as the No. 6, No. 8 and No. 10 quite well. Would say No. 10 is his weakest though maybe Good performance from him today. He really is pretty physical, it should come in handy when we have to face teams like City and Spurs who have big guys playing in the centre to stop us getting bullied off the park
