Like a real Legend should! Drogba the Timeless One.

In the words of @Sheva "bend it like Zoumma" He looked good tonight, though the backing off was worrisome, looked like Cahill was still playing at times. He seems to have trouble concentrating at times. He lost his marker (Vertonghen) for the corner, but also one of his blocks was a lucky fling at the ball because he was preoccupied looking for the striker. He'll get better with time, if JM rates him, he cant be a scrub, just got to work hard in training.

Exactly. We've said everything there is to say, and all the Lampard defenders have gone crawling into their caves.

Its December, lets start to rotate please. Because whats the point of having a big world class squad if your not gonna utilize options off the bench. I'd like to see Schurrle, Rambo, Remy and Luis come into the fray. Tibo Azpi--Cahill-JT--Luis ----Rambo----Matic-- Schurrle-Cesc--Hazard -----------Remy I'd like to see Cesc in the predominate #10 position, he's had some immaculate games there even though his favorite position (as said by the man himself) is the CM role. i highly doubt Spurs will man mark Cesc, and even if they tried i don't think they would be able to shut him out from the game. But with Rambo (hopefully he's healthy) we can have that much needed energizer bunny making runs when the game gets stretched. Same thing with Schurrle, who is very direct and even though he's been in a rut, he hasn't had many opprotunites to change his fortune around, maybe Wednesday will be the day.

Same. And hearing those City fans sing his name... And Apparently his loan is not ending until the season is over. Remember it was only to stay fit. Then it was only to play 5 min cameos here and there. Well now its until the EPL season is over then he'll join NYFC in the States.

Not gonna lie that was a game last year we definitely would have lost. Game was so open, end to end stuff but we failed to capitalize on the breaks, things just didn't move quick enough and nobody was willing to make runs...it happens. I also was looking for both Remy and Schurrle to come on at say the 60min mark, i truly believe we would have had some better chances had they come on sooner. I was surprised that Costa came off i would have let him finish the 90 mins since he wont be playing on wednesday but i was ok with. I agree with the sentiment that we need to rotate, something that JM is pretty allergic to doing. Last year we had that crazy December schedule and JM refused to change the back line at all during those games. We have the squad he wants, so utilize it. There are other people on the bench besides Drogba that can come on and help the team out. (and no im not knocking Drogs, but damn-it i wanna see other people too) Rambo, Remy, Schurrle (even though he still seems to be in the dog-house), Luis, Mikel, we need to really make sure we're getting the best out of our squad and that can only happen with rotation. Ideally against Spurs, we see this Courtois -Azpi--Cahill--JT--Luis ----Rambo--Matic-- Schurrle--Cesc--Hazard --------Drogba Otherwise, bring on Spurs, have a bad feeling about that game though, hope im wrong!

Absolutely. But you will never hear that from the media. I owned my mate the other day (Arsenal Fan) that he should be thanking us because we're the reason he even has his 4th place trophy. If it wasn't for us Winning CL, and Europa and getting to the Semis last year, England would have lost their 4 spots. But no. The media hardly ever give us our respect, and the FA even fucked us over when we asked them for an extra days rest before Atletico Madrid 2nd leg last season. It doesn't even amaze me anymore.

Really want Ake to come on now, is he on the bench? also Remy for Costa..at some point later on
-
Really...no Luis? Really? Really? Wow, ok then.
-
Can somebody please tell me how he played in the first half? I didnt get a chance to watch. Was JM justified in bringing him off? Cause damn Schurlle has been in the Dog-House for what seems like forever!
-
I thought the lads gave their hearts out on the pitch, and thats all we can ask for. Had a goal cancelled for offside, and Hazard missed a one-off penalty. It happens. You cant say we didnt throw it all at Maribor, but it was just one of those nights. Should Hazard have scored, either the pen or the one v one? Yes. But how many times he skip past defenders to help spark numerous chances, with Oscar/Cesc/Costa and Co. Im not gonna crucify him for that. Everybody had their highs and lows and it larticularly frustrating with Drogs always being offside md shit. But we're still undefeated, its November, and we're top of the group. Relax.

Nice goal..
-
Yeah i also don't know where this sentiment that Iva is a better CB than RB has come from, i'll never forget that match vs Arsenal in 2011, when we lost 3-1, and even though he scored the people here were all over him.
-
Typical.
-
They have ten men......don't you know that.....they're more likely to score now?
-
I love this ref! haha come on just 30 more mins,,, fuck it who am i kidding, City will score
-
Although the inevitable is coming, at least we won this weekend.

Phil Dowd: Public Enemy #1 Horrid Refereeing. Gutted we couldnt close the deal. But i felt that we were gonna draw, just had that feeling they would nick it as the game carried on. As per usual they were up for it, just watch them struggle with the rest of the league. Only dropped points to Manc Clubs AWAY FROM HOME, and still put ourselves in position to grab all 3 pts from both games. Cant be mad at the players, their human, mistakes happen, and its impossible to keep that level of urgency and ruthelessness for all 90mins. Thibo! Unlucky son, really played well. We're top of the league, we're top of the league!
-
He was sublime. Love the way he pinches in, when defending. Not sure how it will hold-up over the long haul, but it was interesting to see his style of defending.
-
It just wasn't fair, it honestly wasn't. Monster.
-
So happy to see him get that many minutes. And that pass was niiice.
-
WHAT A PASS! AKE TO HAZARD! Love it!
-
FINISHES WITH BOTH FEET! :blue scalf: :blue scalf: REMMYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn shame he's injured!
-
Cant help but think about this every-time we talk about potentially renovating/moving from Stamford Bridge. The dream that was.... Even going back to those pages where we were all excited as fuck that this would happen. If only the bidding wasn't a closed one

Would you really drop Oscar for this match? Even given how well he has been playing? This one is really tough, on one hand we're at home against the incapable le arse "AND IF WE DONT PLAY ATTACKING FOOTBALL I'LL BE DAMNED!" but on the other, i can see JM being a bit guarded in his line-up and play A Matic-Mikel (assuming Rambo is still out) and maybe it will give Hazard/Cesc/whoever that much more freedom to press cause of the cover they'd have and then even when Matic isnt successful in some of his challenges another DM is there to sweep things up. Interesting to see what he does, gonna be a good game. Not necessarily a smashing though, i bet money Le Wenger will actually come here looking for the draw, and change his tactics. Hope im wrong tho.
