Most coach in PL that was successful in smaller team usually had problem managing the bigger team (The last example that I remember is Roy Hodgson, He was successful with Fulham and now with WBA but he struggled with liverpool). I am not sure why, that is my biggest concern with pardew and rogers

Honestly, I am not sure who I want to be the new manager. - The rumour is that RA want guardiola, he is one of my favourite manager but he is even more offensive manager compare to avb and I don't see his passing football can work with our squad - Bielsa like to play pressure football and this season show that it's not going to work with our squad - Jose => he is not coming back - capello => boring football - Rafa => I never like him

When we hire AVB has his own system which has been adjusted tremendously to fit our squad, he has dropped high line + high pressure, but is still does not work. It is simply a case of system that does not fit the squad, so it's like you said. It's players fault, manager fault and the board fault.

I think everybody complained about lampard because his performance has not been good and he is 33 and as fans we always respect what he has given to chelsea but we also need to realize that it is time to move on

I think pardew mentioned how much he struggled handling senior players in West Ham, I don't think he want to face the same problem in chelsea

Excellent post Milan was a team in transition uder Allegri from a creative side (pirlo,seedrof,kaka) into a power side (Boateng,nocerino,Ibra) - (chelsea is trying to move to the other direction). They realize that pirlo is not in his prime anymore and they need to move on, so like them we have to accept that when a team try to change its identity there will be casualties especially for players who represent the team in the previous system(in our case,it is lampard , terry(high line) and others ) Allegri job was not easy but he inherited ibra,robihno,pato,cassano up front = they are all proven players and boateng was the biggest surprise last season. Again I don't want to argue about youngster but there is a big difference between playing robinho/pato compare to playing Mceachran, Kakuta and Lukaku. I think AVB have made that gamble by playing Sturridge. I think for 90 % fans out there think he is a very good player with huge potential. For me he is still a young striker with plenty of potential who play on the wing and struggle most of the time. He does not offer much in term of build up, his one on one skill is not great, his distribution is poor, his decision making is poor, his defense is bad but he offer a goal threat for us. And I 100% agree with viltwinz93 If RA still want to transform chelsea into a more expansive side, he need to be patient and give AVB more time to transform the squad but if he want result straight away, he should sack AVB and get a coach that want to play the old system

Ah the evergreen Zanetti, You don't lose much of your technical ability but you lose your physical ability that is why it affect player like lampard and drogba more. Btw zanetti started to play in midfield more because he lose some of his speed

wba certainly did not deserve that goal. We played really well in the 2nd half, press the ball like crazy. We really lack quality up front

Ozil was in his last year of his contract that's why he came in cheap and when you are real madrid ,one the biggest if not the biggest club in the world, it's difficult for anybody to say no (Ronaldo,Sahin,Kaka are league winner in their previous club but when real madrid is calling, they all said yes). I don't really want to debate about mourinho, for me he is arguably the best manager in the world, however AVB was chosen because chelsea want to move away from power + effective system (ala mourinho) into more expansive system. It is true that our players struggle heavily in this system but I think once we have the players that fit in this new system, we will start playing winning and beautiful football.

I think what semia meant is that SAF buy players not only to win now but also for the long term (smalling, da silva brother, cleverly). When they were bought by SAF, they are not ready to play at PL. Mourinho on the other hand, his transfer policy has always been to win now. It's true that Mourinho bought young player, but buying young player such as di maria, ozil does not count because not only they does not come cheap but also they are already international level player. It is very difficult to sustain long term success in this way unless you have plenty of capital (ex: Real Madrid)

Fantastic game by robben, this the type of winger that we need. Danny played ok but I really want him to learn to cut inside slightly better and faster, like in chelsea when he received the ball he hold the ball too long which lead into double team in the wing.

I think drogba costed us around 24 m pound in 2004 that will be at least 35-40 m in current transfer market. Mourinho best skill is not transfer at all, he bought plenty of good players but they were expensive signing, with ffp coming up Chelsea simply cannot do that. I think he spent around 30 m euro for coentrao, and AVB could not even afford to get perreira. Again, AVB had one transfer window (you cannot count january transfer) and Mourinho is not known for his youth policy either, I really doubt sturridge will ever get a chance to get into the first team if not for AVB. IMO AVB biggest mistake is that early in the season he assessed his squad wrongly , he came from Porto to PL runner up, you would think that malouda,kalou,lampard,terry, bosingwa,etc , all of them are in the national team, should be better than his porto squad but they are not. Like I said before, Mourinho is arguably the best manager in the world right now, not only he is great in term getting the best of his players but his system is very effective system. But I thought we want to move away from that system into a more expansive and beautiful system. This is probably my biggest reason why I don't want mourinho back at chelsea

No Mourinho is a great manager, imo arguably the best manager in the world right now But I really want to see how avb system really works if he has the player that he need at his diposal (high pressure + high line -> the two things that we cannot do with our current squad)

That is just awful, personally I don't really care whether we get to quarter final or not, our team is just not good enough. All I care is the 4th place, if he can do that , I am satisfied with this season

I think Gerard is much better than Lampard, he is better defensively, have much better skill with the ball, have really2 good passing accuracy and range. Lampard is probabaly slightly better in term of off the ball movement
