Like the report said, the first goal from RVP was exactly like warned about... measured ball through to Gervinho and it was all done there. If their team is as shit as in the previous game, then it's a must game for McEachran... Lampard has been playing quite a lot recently, only break coming against Everton. So I hope it's Meireles, Romeu and McEachran in midfield with Alex, Luiz and Bertrand in defence. But we'll almost certainly play our strongest team I feel.

I wish it was over, it puts too much spotlight on the club and especially Terry... I felt really sorry for him when he slipped. He made amends with his goal but once again it was taken away. I cannot help but feel that maybe our bad performance was partly due to the pressure on our captain (he wasn't feeling confident, so wasn't anybody else, especially the defence). Whatever happens, I hope it's over quickly.

I've held myself back from the forum since yesterday (pretty much)... I've learnt to just chill the fuck out, have a cigarette, drink coffee and read about other important things when things don't go as planned on the footballing front. Now that I have come back here to read the reactions, I really am embarrassed. "Burning the shirt", "Andre Naive-Boas", "title challenge is over", "AVB is the new Wenger"... just plain embarrassing. Get over it, it's not like it's our first thumping ever.. Remember Man City and AS Roma a few years back? In a few weeks/months once we've beaten some teams comfortably, a lot of you "AVB out/AVB is shit" guys are gonna jump his dick again, just wait. I did not like the defeat either, naturally, but I'm not gonna commit suicide for this... for all we know, this could've been a necessary loss, a wake up call or a learning curve.. call it whatever you want, the loss was important in negative and positive ways. A strong half of the "fans" posting here and there are just hilarious after defeats. Constructive criticism, yes, any time any day.. even if we win. Mindless bashing, no, I personally won't even read them.

I don't think anybody ever doubted that we need fresh blood, it's kinda obvious... Mata, Lukaku and Romeu alone won't do until we have players like Malouda, Anelka, Kalou and Drogba playing big roles. You might even name Bosingwa and a month or two ago Lampard was on everybody's lips (not anymore though, how quickly things change). So no doubt we need fresh blood, it's inevitable... dunno about january, but next summer once our obsolete players leave.
