I have a feeling Romeu, Alex and Torres will play. I think Romeu was brought on against Everton to prepare him for this game, Alex because he's not played much and Torres for obvious reasons... Meireles will almost certainly play unless AVB opts for Lampard-Malouda-Mikel/Romeu midfield, which I can't see happening. All the other positions are too uncertain, I'm not gonna predict.... and that's good that we have unpredictibility on our side now with AVB's rotation system, under Mourinho for example we almost always played our best and "untouchables".

So I guess we've found our Čech replacement for the far future, provided he stays clear of injuries and is a nr. 1 goalkeeper in every loan club. Although Čech is still young for a goalie, in 3 seasons he'll be only 32yo... Courtois will have loads and loads of time to improve before he becomes our nr. 1.

You dont consider lamps legendary? Fair enough hes not at his absolute best. But that is your formula. Where do you suggest we get legendary and world class players? I think ramires can become one in the future, it's too early to say but josh is promising and we tried our best to get modric, it didnt work out. I think youre underestimating our players or simply expecting too much. You got to admit they are hardly mediocre players are they? We have our weaknesses but i think we're doing the best we can do deal with them atm and ramires is hardly a weakness currently don't you think?

I'm glad Mikel and Ramires aren't like Scholes, they would be catastrophic at defending :mellow: But talking about level not ability, then players BLionheart mentioned are/were exceptional... all of our players can't be legendary, but just decent in their duties on the pitch, and Mikel and Ramires both are imho. And Ramires still has time to get to the level of Essien, the bison wasn't a hit instantly either.

De Bruyne... AVB said he was a tremendous talent and had amazing technical ability and that he hoped he would get enough playing time in Genk and Belgium. He can play as an "outside left" and also as a central midfielder. He also said that scouting him doesn't automatically mean he will become Chelsea's player.

Player scouting can take years, they have trained scouts/coaches who are paid to do that job, who can see details an untrained eye can't. Professional clubs rarely or never give judgement based on one game... It's actually easy to spot talent and skill, it's harder to spot potential.

Isn't it obvious why? Because he's a world-class manager, is respected by all the players and is synonymous with the club, has total backing of the manu board, has a really good scouting team and has an eye for talents.. but so it wouldn't turn into an Alex wankfest, he's still an annoying tit.

Patience... The team is still a working process under AVB. His first marks this summer were Mata and Meireles, both brilliant signings to be fair.. if we get 2 brilliant signings again next summer, we will be covered all over, and I'm pretty sure we will, as many are on the verge of leaving. And seeing our active interests in players like Neymar, De Bruyne, Pereira etc. shows promise that we are looking in the right direction, even if we aren't going to sign exactly those names, we are still seeing interest from the club towards such type of players... and for me it's encouraging. But for now overall I'm pleased with the team, there doesn't seem to be a screaming need for pure wingers atm, although this might change if Mata and Studge get injured or some shit like that.
