  1. The Italian godfather himself is protecting him, who would want to leave that kind of life behind
  2. And he has old academy mate Sinclair there and old coach Rodgers, so won't feel too uncomfortable at first Btw, talking about Sinclair.. looking at his wikipedia team list is hilarious loaned to 6 different teams from Chelsea before finding his feet. Bertrand is one team short of the record.
  3. I first said Sturridge without contest, but come to think about it, Mata is probably the smartest dribbler we have... like someone said, he doesn't do it often but when he does, it's effective. I still remember him embarrassing practically the whole City team.
  4. Now we have a reason to watch Swansea games It's the club where Lamps was on loan... history repeats?
  5. It's dragging so long probably so we couldn't say in a few years "Cahill the wooden-leg is on 80K a week, what was the club thinking?!" like we are doing now with the likes of Kalou and Ferreira.
  6. wouldn't mind Luiz at right-back over Bosingwa... he would be like a kid in a candy shop with the license to go forward.
  7. lol, you're talking about a fairytale "players shouldn't play for money but pride bla bla".. we all know this is not the case, I don't think Cahill is even a fan of us, just a gloryhunter like most of the players that join us. And seeing how our defence play, can you blame him for being a bit ambitious and trying to make the most out of it? Agents and clubs usually feed off the buying club's desperation. I think this is how things work - the club makes an initial offer, which sucks and represents the minimum, hence the player and his agent make a counter-offer, which sucks for the club and represent the maximum... Now they start negotiating for a deal which works in-between those 2 offers.. Now if there is a clause that Cahill is reluctant to back off from, then the club must find a way to make it work OR go for an alternative. With FFP coming the money pissing seems to be over, in the old days we would have happily agreed to the initial maximum offer and be done with. I'm actually glad we're not bowing down this time. Be patient, we're not that desperate yet for him.
  8. It doesn't matter what is Hazard's natural position. We have Mata and if we had Hazard they would almost certainly both rotate between LW and CAM positions throughout the game. Limiting a creative player to only one position is a bad thing, they are often given free roles as is the case with Mata right now. The thing is I don't see AVB opting for 4-2-3-1 regularly, I think he prefers to play 3 strong midfielders with defensive capabilities.. although I could be wrong.
  9. His inclusion of Studge and Romeu is encouraging... tbh I don't think any manager would have overlooked Danny after the form he showed (although it is possible since the club admitted thinking about a loan before he fired in pre-season, had he not done that under another manager we might have seen a different scenario), and Romeu is a bit of fine scouting by AVB's team (although you may send a scout to Barca youths and if he doesn't find anyone worth mentioning then he's a bad scout).
  10. That was not so long ago and already he's on 200... pretty fast he is
  11. I'm sure his 200th goal will be a cracker from 25 yards, the goal which wins us the league next season. How blunt it would be if it was a penalty in a 6-0 thumping in a cup against a bad team.
  12. Rooney's goal was luck? Sorry, RZA, but I have to disagree with you on that one.
  13. Thanks for trying to insult me in the first sentence, but I don't follow the Spanish league, hence I base my judgement on achievements rather than opinion.
  14. Well, in my country we get paid per month, so for me it is a bit unusual to talk about weekly wages. Anyway, 33K pounds per week for a player who never plays is too much imo.
  15. I think his physical readiness is in question more than anything... the gap between reserve and premier league is colossal.
  16. Because he is young and has immense potential, Chelsea doesn't like that
  17. the best summary of our playstyle I have read
  18. Statistics beg to differ. In order to consider a team considerably better than the others they need to achieve something... Frankly, I don't remember the last time Real were in a CL final (2001?). Their recent achievements top with being runners-up to Barca in the league. They are a squad of outstanding individuals (as the FIFPro team proves).. but as a team, they're yet to prove themselves. However, with Mourinho being given time, I can see them tasting success again soon - I can't see him and Ronaldo being titelless for too long.
  19. I find the inclusion of Suarez most funny
  20. WH hate Lampard, Lampard hates WH... yeah, can totally see it happening. I'm falling into depression, there is no sanity left in the world.
  21. I thought of it too, yes. It only highlights the lack of geling (harmony?) in our squad, players don't understand eachother and even the manager doesn't understand the players fully yet. Henry, as an arsenal legend, has no problem settling in... he feels confident where he belongs, not to mention that the manager knows him and his teammates through and through. Not the case with us. So I agree with you... and Kez for that matter.
