Yes, he has the potential... a potential that Sturridge is fulfilling at the age of 22 (started at 21 in Bolton on loan). Looking at what Emenalo said about Lukaku (that they don't want to throw them in deep end too soon and destroy them before they get going), I think next season will be more about grooming him while not making him a key player.

I don't think he'd replace anyone for him, he'd just get more appearances. As a sub or as a starter, it would make sense to come on for Lampard or Meireles, provided we don't add to our midfield in the summer.

I still believe our defensive frailties are a team issue, not only defensive line.. casting out Luiz and/or Bosingwa would help only so much, but our pressing and defending further up the pitch must improve. Also, the communication and cohesion between the whole team should be spot on, it's not yet. The team has been told to play more expansive and risky football, which results in considerably more risk passes and ball loss, hence leaving more pressure on the low lines to deal with it, something our team is not very used to but will get used to in time (btw, I believe that was the reason of the high-line too, which by practice showed didn't work). When we talk about the attack, we say it can't exist without a properly functioning midfield... I maintain that the same applies to defence. The best defence is possession and we can't hold it or use it to maximum efficiency, especially when closed down and under pressure and threatened by counter-attacks. When you look at our whole team's organization and placement when we concede, you can see it's a mess, all through from the backline to attack (or top of midfield).

Seriously? Every game he gets slated for his mistake(s), more than his compatriots... what about the whole "move him to DMF" campaign that was so active at one point. When he plays, he's arguably under bigger attention than Bosingwa, far more attention than the English left side. Apart from Torres, I think he's the player who gets most attention from our fans and pundits.

Didn't he arrive with Grant? I think people were so pissed off at firing Mourinho and his staff, that they hated anyone replacing them... and looking at Grant's face, it was easy not to like anyone who arrived with him and call them incompetent.

Luiz is MUCH more solid than Bosingwa. I wouldn't even categorize them in the same class. There are more things to his game than pace.

Some months ago I was optimistic about him, now reading through the page I'm not so sure about him anymore.. I mean looking at the juve president, he's probably a one-season wonder just like Malouda was. Could be wrong though.

yeah, I lol'd at that... and he was the one to play the opposition striker onside also. And at one point a cross came in and he tried to kick it with his heel or smth, McClean or whoever had an open shot but luckily missed.

The reason why I'm not saying he's back yet is because we've said that 2-3 times before and got disappointed every time. I have my guards up about him, interesting to see if he can stay consistent.

what we need is a player hungry enough to utilize his full potential and skills... superstars? well, we had Shevchenko and we have Torres, both can be considered superstars.. haven't been quite the answers we've been looking for, except in marketing department. I'd rather we get players who we ourselves make superstars, a la Drogba and Robben.

I wasn't so impressed with him as you guys, it was visible that he was in terrible physical condition.

I watched the MOTD highlights and at one point Bosingwa's defending was so bad, that even Hansen or whoever said smth like "what is he doing, where is he going? I don't know"... I literally started laughing at that point because Bosingwa was drifting casually out of the box to midfield when the danger was coming into the box, and needless to say he was the one playing Sunderland's striker onside in first place. God he's so bad.

How will regular watchers be able to use it? Or isn't it meant for us? Because they would be able to provide maybe hundreds of those cameras, but the need would be in thousands and millions. Anyway, would be great, it would give the opportunity to zoom some cleavage.

And that last minute thing where he didn't pass to Torres... he probably decided to waste time, which wasn't a bad thought.
