  1. I think he would have been a comfortable golden boot winner had he played more, maybe with one or two more goals. I don't think he had even a single full game. Don't understand why Fabregas (or Negredo) was preferred over him, he was useless as a forward and everytime Torres came on, Spain looked a lot sharper.
  2. You got nothing on Estonia. 13.77 - 5.53 (beer) Proud of my nation I make sure I properly contribute to that.
  3. Bertrand hasn't broken through yet. Yes, he had a few games under his belt due to the conditions of the team (he played whenever Cole needed rest at the end of the season and in the final against Bayern he played because Ramires was suspended, under AVB all of this would have been unthinkable). Once Cole is sold/retires, we might sign someone who overtakes Bertrand's position, and that would most likely be the end of his Chelsea career. Or we will get a new manager in a year or two who doesn't rate him or ignores him. I will say that Bertrand has really broken through when he is trusted more often and if he successfully succeeds Cole. At the moment, it looks likely that he will succeed, but you never know.
  4. Creativity, as I see it, is when you create things obviously, not destroy (what defenders and defensive mids are supposed to do). A creative player, for me, is someone who finds the right positions to receive and the right passes to give, let it be by creating a goal-scoring opportunity or changing flanks if it's the best option, doesn't matter, as long as it contributes to the team creating an attack. Having said that, I wouldn't mind Marchisio. He's someone Mourinho would have gladly taken back in the days.
  5. There's no evidence to support that claim. We would have more possession, thus we'd need to defend less than before.
  6. One thing that worries me a bit is that AVB got invaluable experience at Chelsea. He accomodated to the Premier League, learned that his tactical stubborness won't amount to anything, he played his first Champions League games (not that it will matter for Spurs, but an experience nevertheless), he had his first encounter with true superstars (smth that spurs don't have), high expectancy and pressure. True, he failed, but if he is as smart as people say he is, he will have learned from his mistakes and will avoid touching the hot stove twice in a row. Plus he will have smaller expectations, a more patient owner and he will try to prove everybody wrong and redeem his reputation... And he would actually have some decent players suitable for a quicker game. As much as I would like to think that AVB would dig his own grave again (not that I want him to crash and burn, but it's Sp*rs, come on!), I don't think it would be as likely as it was with Chelsea. I think sperms are a good stepping stone for him if he indeed succeeds.
  7. a child should be able to express her mind
  8. Terry was reported to the police by some random person, Suarez wasn't. E: LDN beat me to it
  9. I've brought this problem up before. The solution is to go into advanced search and choose "search in titles only".. otherwise it searches god knows what, and if you're lucky, the topic you're searching for is on the bottom of the last page.
  10. I just found possibly the strangest channel on youtube. It's about a guy who eats and drinks literally everything - from vodka and glue to lit cigarettes and condoms. Check it out An example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-y6f0g5odk&feature=plcp
  11. 'Legend' banner was just for prestige, like giving candy to a child so he would shut up. Being a moderator is about power, responsibility and representation. Two uncomparable things really.
  12. Wouldn't get too ahead of myself. He's only 15, plenty of new Maradonas and Peles have been ruined at that age. What position does he play? Judging by that video it seems he's an attacking mid?
  13. BlueLion would rig the poll There is no way Term would ever become a staff member here.
  14. And to add to that: ROOSER ... Wayne Rooney had a poor tournament WAYNE ROONEY MISSED the opening two games through his own stupidity in the qualifying stage and never approached par in the two matches he did play. Was he even fit? Scored a sitter against Ukraine but the fact is that while Roo is rated as a world-class player, he rarely shows it on the biggest stage. 4/10
  15. Going into a bidding war with Real Madrid would be financial suicide. Last year we were pretty much the only ones interested, Modric reportedly even told he wanted to leave, but our 40M bid was still rejected. Plus I've read that Levy will not sell him to another club in England. Sorry guys, but there's a very big chance that this ship has sailed. Doing business with Sp*rs = no go. We'd be better off searching for cheaper alternatives, IF the club are indeed after a central midfielder. Getting Hazard and potentially Hulk and Modric in the same window always seemed too far fetched.
  16. Definitely. It would be moronic to pay this kind of money for a 13 year old. The clubs' agreement probably has a bunch of clauses that could potentially raise the price to 3, but not any time soon.
  17. Likewise mate I wouldn't mind any of the 5 getting the job, but since it's a "citizen's" privilege to partake in democratic elections, I had to vote for someone. So I did what any diligent citizen should do - closed my eyes and pointed a finger at a random candidate.
  18. It's possible that Di Matteo thought about that, but decided not to act on knee-jerk reaction and let him remedy it. I don't think taking his captaincy away would do any good to the dressing room. He has been demoted already twice for England, it would devastate him and his camp (the majority) in the team even more. Furthermore, it would once again put Chelsea in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. By letting him keep the armband, they let it be what it was - a stupid and soon to be forgotten situation. Had he been demoted, it would have generated so many negative stories about Chelsea and put too much spotlight on him, the new captain and the whole club, that it would ultimately interfere with normal gameplay and delicate transitional period. Having said that, I can see him losing the captaincy if he's found guilty in court. The club might be waiting for the verdict, if he's found guilty, they might consider it dangerous for the club's global image to keep him as their representative face. But if he's found not guilty, then there is no reason to poke the beehive any longer. Let both occasions sink into the past and rely on Terry having learned from his mistakes.
  19. You can't choose your parents. It's not right to blame John for that. The only reason why the media picked it up is because they were John's parents, they wanted to destroy his persona through them, and it's worked, even on our own fans.
  20. Such things usually have some sort of reason in its root. By the looks of it its original meaning was to send some kind of message, a demonstration. Does anybody know what was its root cause? Of course, it looks moronic when copied and done for no reason.
