Wonder how he would fare in this Chelsea side... It's clear that Zizou doesn't know what he's doing, he doesn't have Ronaldo or prime Bale to bail him out anymore and RM in general look disjointed. That doesn't leave much room for individuals to shine when the whole collective is down. However Tuchel has built a well-oiled machine, would Hazard disrupt that machine or find his best form again?

What an absolute beast of a player he is, on his way to becoming world class!
-
I fully expect this to be the starting 11 with everyone fit. And I do think this team is good enough to get a clean sheet or score, if needed. Mendy Christensen - Silva - Rรผdiger Azpi - Kante - Jorginho - Chilwell Mount - Pulisic Havertz

I'm a slave to emotions ๐ Also in those moments I don't really think who is where, I realized it was Werner only after the fact (was not surprised, just straight up pissed off screaming at the TV). Good save by snake, but Timo made it easy for him. Luckily Pulisic raised the mood shortly after, good lad.

My patience is running thin, if not run out already. Yesterday's miss was the angriest I got at any of his misses. I was celebrating before seeing it go in because it was a 1000% chance the moment the ball was passed to him, so in the heat of the moment I just said sell this sack of **** but have now calmed down a bit. Anybody who's been following my posts know that I was most excited about signing Werner, not Havertz or Ziyech. Simply because I thought he'd fix our goalscoring problems and elevate us a level... That has not been the case, he's made it worse. I have been defending him up to this point, but not anymore. And fuck the psychological excuses, you don't need to be a mental monster to finish from point blank range, he's just an incredibly shit finisher especially for a supposed striker, period. Clearly I was wrong about him, based my opinion on highlights and stats. He must improve and improve fast or he'll fuck our entire season up. Pulisic isn't always going to be there to rectify his cock ups. One or a few more important misses like this and I will officially give up on him like I did with Torres and Morata. Overall he's a better footballer than either of them, but I'm so fucking tired of excusing shit finishing from STRIKERS with "good movement" or "stretching defences" or "at least he gets into positions" or whatever other bullshit we can think of to comfort ourselves while watching our strikers FLOP left and right.

All I can say is keep the faith. Chelsea have done bigger wonders when nobody believed we could.

Wait, I thought we were out of top 4 after the loss to WBA. Or after any loss with Lampard... How can we be done with something more than once?๐ค Considering how close the top 4 race is and how inconsistent results are throughout the league, would you bet everything and your life on Chelsea being done after a draw?

I understand the players being rested, but for example what was the point of putting James to the left to stay back? Our best crosser effectively disarmed. After those in-game changes we became worse, came closer to losing than winning. We were in trouble in midfield but Kante didn't come on... another questionable decision.
-
That performance was imo a result of questionable tactical decisions and pre-match furore. The players' heads were not in it. I think we were lucky not to have lost considering the chances BHA had, so there is that positive to take from it. I now expect to bounce back strongly after the club has withdrawn from ESL and some key players got rested... We will look a different side with Azpi, Kante, Kovacic and Chilwell back.
-
Kovacic and Kante make him look better. I thought it was going to be a disaster when line-ups came out, 'cause Jorginho needs someone defensively solid next to him... Mount is not it, he's a final 3rd player not last 3rd. I think Tuchel underestimated Brighton by exposing midfield like that. We desperately need a 4th CMF come next season, if Kovacic and Kante are out we're fucked. Gilmour could become that player, but he seriously needs to bulk up if he is to have any chance... too short and skinny to be a regular EPL CMF atm.

Don't try to make sense of Tottenham's actions, there is a reason why they are a trophyless banter meme club with a chicken on a turd as its crest. Shooting themselves in the foot is what they do. Hope Shitty fucking mop the floor with them in the final.

I don't think the Super League is going to happen, at least not in the currently proposed form. Far too much pressure against it for it to go through imo.

Most interesting part about this game will now be how the players react. It affects them the most, can't see them being happy about all the possible scenarios thrown around in the media, none of which look favourable to them (except for maybe huge pay rises). The timing of this announcement might be part of their strategy, to willingly show how they are ready to give up the league, knowing fully well that this will affect the teams on the pitch and possible point deductions, with many still fighting for something. It's like they are saying "we don't care". Having said that, I still expect the team to stay professional and win.

We have West Ham and Real Madrid in a 7 day span after this, rotations must be made. Dave might need a rest, he's been playing non-stop. Hopefully AC and Mateo are back for this one. Mendy Zouma - Christensen - Rรผdiger CHO - Jorginho - Kovacic - Alonso Pulisic - Mount Havertz
-
What's that all about? The Times article is behind a paywall. Those teams won't be participating in the CL/EL?
-
Getting his groove back slowly but surely. People forget he's been unlucky with injuries throwing him off the rhythm all the time. If he manages to stay fit, I can see him only getting better. I especially like how in his post-match interview he acknowledged that he isn't yet at his best. Love the mentality.

He is finished at RB imo, he's average there as he needs to bomb forward and track back with his declining pace. Not his strengths, James is better suited for running up and down the field all game long. However I don't think anybody ever wrote Azpi off at CB, this particular system suits him perfectly. Tuchel is great, a tactical mastermind. One thing I also like about him is that he shows trust in his fringe players, like Kepa, to play in a big game like FA Cup semi-final. Many managers wouldn't have the balls, the backup keeper usually stops playing around the quarter/semi-final stages. This reinforces the feeling in the squad that literally everybody is important, which keeps them motivated and on their toes whenever called upon.
-
Anybody else feel that his reputation for being a shit ball player is undeserved and has stuck from years ago, when he actually was bad with it? Whenever I watch him play now I see nothing wrong with how he uses the ball. He even deals with high pressure and playing out from the back quite well, don't remember the last time he actually screwed up (I do have shit memory tho so feel free to refresh it ๐).

We were doing fine until Silva decided to get sent off and we completely imploded after that. I see one main culprit for this - Silva first and foremost for that stupid tackle on a yellow card. Jorginho also for just being pants. What exactly is Tuchel's fault here? Starting Silva was a mistake only in hindsight, if he'd know he'd get sent off you can bet he wouldn't have started. It was one of those shitty post-international break games that didn't go our way.
-
You all right mate? How you feeling today after being so wrong so badly? ๐
-
So impressed with him, another epic performance! When Silva got injured I was very worried how AC would fare in the middle of defence, but he's done brilliantly since being subbed on against Sp*rs. So much so that he cannot just be automatically dropped when Silva gets fit.

Tuchel has so won me over. When we were thinking sacking Frank I was like "but there are no options available worth sacking Frank for"... how wrong was I. Tuchel is absolute boss. ๐
