  1. Surprised to see Ivanovic - thought he was injured?! Why not play Alex, and Ivan at RB? Then again, Carlo is the manager and I trust him
  2. As much as I am a fan of Kalou and what he can bring, playing him over our most in-form player? I know Malouda played for France in mid-week - hopefully he is just being given a rest and can come on a score a second half brace
  3. United did that in 14 games - we scored six more in EIGHT less games
  4. Ballack to Bayer, great deal for them.
  5. It's a penalty shoot-out... if it goes in, you've done bloody well. That goalkeeper = COCK.
  6. I think it's a shot at City more than us - however if that's the best he can do, he ought to hang his head in shame.
  7. Kakuta in for Lampard? I can dream, but I think Yuri or Yossi will come in to the midfield three. Stat of the day - in Chelsea's last 11 matches, the Blues have scored 47 goals (average of 4.3 per game) and conceded just four, keeping eight clean sheets (six of which are successive) in the process.
  8. Agreed, he needs to prove his fitness. But after how good and consistent he was in 2008/09 I can't help but feel he'll be back to his best sooner rather than later. That being said its been 12 months since he even kicked a ball in a Chelsea shirt...
  9. Ancelotti helped Maldini play till he was 176, he can do the same with Terry as long as he stops pushing himself too far.
  10. Ferreira will play RB cos Ivan's still out with an injured back for a few weeks.
  11. His attitude, maybe? His consistent berating of match officials and whining on the pitch? Plus the fact he cheated on Cheryl Cole... oh, hang on, surely the papers must have made that one up as well, surely she just left him for another reason? Unless you can honestly swear that you've never made such a comment about anyone in your lifetime, I don't think you have a moral leg to stand on.
  12. I'm concerned about Bosingwa. Bayern Munich allegedly keep showing an interest in him (funny since they already have Philip Lahm and young Badstubber in the full-back roles), and he would certainly have a hell of a lot of interest from other clubs. I just hope we don't sell him, because he's got his best years ahead of him and is one bloody good player.
  13. I don't think it's fair to compare Kalou and Nani; they operate as wingers, yes, but in different formations. Plus Nani is an out-and-out winger whilst Kalou is in the Anelka mould in the way he is a centre forward who just happens to be moderately effective out wide.
  14. Whether you agree with it or not, young people do look up to footballers as role models, the same way they look up to rock stars, actors and models. It's not just young kids either, when I was 14/15 I aspired to be Petr Cech; I literally copied everything he did in terms of his technique as a goalkeeper and I even wore a scrum cap when playing in goal That's why I agree with Zolayes, it's important for footballers to set a good example.
  15. So, this means that Bran, Kakuta and Bosingwa are all in the final year of their contracts and able to talk to other clubs in regards to a move away in January. Pretty worrying when you consider how important these players are/could be. However, Carlo has said: Just hope we don't waste time and have another Joe Cole scenario. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2150011,00.html
  16. Jose Bosingwa is also back in training and could be pushing for a start, but Branislav Ivanovic and Gael Kakuta (both back) definitely miss out. http://www.skysports.com/football/match_preview/0,19764,11065_3286084,00.html Incorrect about Kakuta but great news about Boss.
  17. Indeed, welcome back Kez, nice to see you back at your active best
  18. I remember him only playing about 10 times for us... didn't he have a recurring knee injury throughout the season?
  19. They'll do a similar survey in 2012 and find Barcelona and United's fanbase has gone down massively and Man City suddenly are the world's favourite club.
  20. Everyone in England rates Gerrard higher than Lampard, except Chelsea fans and those people with brains. And that doesn't bother me in the slightest. 2009/10 season: Gerrard Club appearances: 49 Goals: 11 Assists: 9 International appearances: 6 Goals: 2 Assists: 3 Lampard Club appearances: 50 Goals: 27 Assists: 20 International appearances: 8 Goals: 1 Assists: 3
  21. I'd be absolutely delighted. Don't care if he's a wanker - he's the second-best player in world football. Ashley Cole's a scumbag but a brilliant footballer and no Chelsea fan bats an eyelid.
  22. No surprises? You're kidding me? No way is our European fanbase bigger than Arsenal, Liverpool and Milan?!
  23. I can see Yuri leaving, and that's through no fault of his own - Cole and Malouda are just simply fucking brilliant. Still I rate him and thought he was excellent when Cole was out between February and April - and I personally think that Yuri will play more games this season. He's our best cover for LB and I can see him playing in the CM positions quite often this year as cover for Essien/Mikel/Lampard/Ramires.
