  1. After another week of cup shocks including the MK Don's win over Premier League Blackpool the draw for Round 3 takes place on Saturday, when the rest of the Premier League sides join the competition. The draw, which is due to get underway at approximately 12.15pm during Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, will include one side from League 2, four from League 1 and eight from the Championship. The numbers for the draw are as follows:- 1.Arsenal 2.Aston Villa 3.Birmingham City 4.Blackburn Rovers 5.Bolton Wanderers 6.Brentford 7.Burnley 8.Chelsea 9.Everton 10.Fulham 11.Ipswich Town 12.Leicester City 13.Liverpool 14.Manchester City 15.Manchester United 16.Millwall 17.Milton Keynes Dons 18.Newcastle United 19.Northampton Town 20.Notts County 21.Peterborough United 22.Portsmouth 23.Preston North End 24.Scunthorpe United 25.Stoke City 26.Sunderland 27.Swansea City 28.Tottenham Hotspur 29.West Bromwich Albion 30.West Ham United 31.Wigan Athletic 32.Wolverhampton Wanderers All ties will take place during the week commencing September 20th.
  2. One advantage we have is fitness; Stoke played in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.
  3. Does Bosingwa's ban continue from last season? He didn't feature in the Champions League at all last year, and had a two-game ban... has that been served or suspended due to his injury?
  4. We don't need anyone, not yet anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a new face in January, though.
  5. Whoever is at right-back will most likely be spending a lot of their time in the Stoke half, judging by past performances at Stamford Bridge by the Potters. And Ferreira is a very, very good crosser of a ball from deep positions, in my view. Maybe not so good when crossing from the by-line but he's excellent at putting balls into the box from deep.
  6. I think John Mikel Obi counts as homegrown but I may be mistaken. He was signed at the age of 18 and by the time his third season with us had finished, he was 21, which qualifies him I think.
  7. ARGH FFS, WE ALREADY HAVE A MANCIENNE TOPIC Merged
  8. I'd seen him play once, that was it. Didn't really think that much of him Then I saw him play at Euro 2004 and I was in love
  9. Might be, mate Just saying that should be the end of the problem.
  10. Žilina and Spartak should be easy games, but they'll really be up for it. If anyone thinks Marseille will be a walkover, I'll be here laughing.
  11. Ferguson won't leave until he's won number 19.
  12. Agreed. I've been critical of Mancienne but if he gets some experience he can be a useful back-up for us, much like Ferreira.
  13. Yeah, there 12 people who are called TrueBlue.
  14. I think any professional footballer who acts that way should be left to rot in the reserves; there are millions of fans out there who would play for their club for free and put in 110% more effort than wasters such as Mascherano, who really are an embarrassment to the modern day breed of professional footballers.
  15. American humour is quite different to British humour, you have to respect that. British comedians employ irony and sarcasm much more than our cousins across the Pacific, I find. We also tend to be a lot more outrageous

  17. There's showing you want to leave (handing in a written request for transfer), and then being an utter twat (striking). These players are paid tens of thousands and are role-models for people of all ages, of all nationalities across the world. And they're a fucking disgrace as far as I'm concerned, if I was their club manager I'd refuse to pay their wages and let them rot in the reserves for the rest of the season.

  19. Yeah, but also Anfield, Turin and Barcelona - great away European nights for this club, as well as the stunning home games in the knock-out round.
  20. Chelsea join Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham in the draw for the Group Stages of the UEFA Champions League. The draw is on Thursday evening, at 5pm BST.
