  1. Its all over the Turkish news sites, but the only English-language sources are Tribal Football and Goal.com... hopefully the sites I looked at are the Turkish equivalents of the Sun and the Mirror...
  2. Its all over the Turkish news he is completing a move to Gala
  3. Its all over the Turkish media he's completing a move to Galatasaray...
  4. So we won't ever see Drogba again in a Chelsea shirt? Seems likely.
  5. Welcome! I love your sig btw!
  6. If Ancelotti stays - McEachran would quite possibly be there, or Ramires and McEachran deployed one further upfield. Absolutely agreed. Josh could learn a lot from him as well, Pirlo has always had great composure and vision.
  7. To be fair, 99% of football fans could name 9 of our starting eleven with ease every week.
  8. Absolutely. I'm still shocked West Ham have done down, after the signings they made in the summer I expected them to finish mid-table, quite comfortably as well. Shows one of two things - either this league is becoming more and more unpredictable, or Grant is a shite manager.
  9. Ah right Well December's up, I'm going to write January either tomorrow (match report due today...), then we need Tomo to do February for Wednesday...
  10. The jury is still out on Grant He's had two teams relegated in two years, and I personally believe the only reason for his success at Chelsea was the form of Lampard, Ballack, Cole and Drogba in the second half of the season, and the support of Steve Clark and Henk ten Cate.Yes, he got us to our first and only Champions League final and I will always respect that, but how much of it was his responsibility? He's even admitted to taking a back seat during training and letting his assistants take charge. His success was based on the form of a handful of players and the backing of two very capable tacticians and man-motivators in Clarke and ten Cate. Obviously as the manager he would have had some input, but I'll never be sure about him. I really do think our near-Treble that season was down to Clarke moreso than Grant, but either way, he's still part of this club's history. History. Not the future. We can do far better.
  11. I don't think Abramovich would try and sabotage his own club. Yes, he likes to get involved - but he should know the point of having a coach is to do the footballing administration, not for the owner to try and take over.
  12. I've not heard anything official on it yet - nothing on any of the reputable news sites.
  13. If you'd have taken time to read the whole topic you'd see I'm very critical of the club's ticketing policy, which seems to prefer the prawn sandwich brigade to the loyal supporters who are being priced out of the stadium, hence the remark.
  14. That's very kind of you, Ray. Potentially, we'd be looking to venture to get our own dedicated server, which would allow us to run at full capacity at all times, ie. being able to handle high amounts of traffic we get during match days/transfer season. It would also ensure that we'd be able to improve the amount of features we have available to everybody as well, such as more add-ons.
  15. To be fair, I'd be needing new pants if I was facing a Juninho freekick as well.
  16. Love that Barcelona away kit. The reason for the red, white and blue on the Hamburg shirt is debatable... the red and the white are the colours of the metropolitan flag, and the blue represents that Hamburg is a maritime region... namely the world's eighth biggest port, or it could be a signal of its status as a free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire...
  17. Any picture featuring Avram Grant is a good call....
  18. Fucking hell, none of our squad are getting younger! Luckily, realistically speaking, Cech will have until he is at least 36 at the same level he is now... and that's another 300 games!
  19. It comes to something when a player needs his own physios... The startling reality is that we've signed Torres three seasons too late, in my opinion. His peak physical condition is behind him.
  20. Luiz is such a wonderful footballing defender, but as soon as he learns the necessary discipline in the Premier League, he will no doubt become a rock alongside John Terry. I'm not saying we should completely curb his attacking intent, but we see Terry and Alex venture forward occasionally to help build attacks - if he can learn the same discipline and know when is the right time to go forward, he will become a stalwart! That being said, playing him in the holding midfield role could actually help cement that discipline into his game...
  21. There looks to be an increasing possibility that he might come to Chelsea this summer. Although I'm still doubtful... if we sign him, though, Kalou and Anelka must leave to facilitate his place in the squad, as well as Sturridge's.
  22. Today, Frank Upton - a 1965 League Cup winner with the Blues - sadly passed away aged 76. Frank played only 86 times for Chelsea, but he did play in the second leg of that famous Cup Final win - a 0-0 draw at Filbert Street against Leicester to ensure a 3-2 aggregate win. Rest in peace. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2364039,00.html
  23. Vincent you have the heart and spirit of a lion! An absolute inspiration.
  24. I don't like using Twitter posts at face value when they're by unverified accounts. Could be any person in the world who can speak Portuguese and English with far too much time on their hands.
  25. Not a verified Twitter account though...
