Welcome to the forum. The Kalou argument is an old one but I have to disagree about Mikel - although he does sometimes frustrate me. His discipline is the reason why other players are allowed to shine, as far as I'm concerned this team would be a lot more vulnerable defensively without him.

I agree. Bertrand would be first-choice LB at four or five EPL clubs, ie. Wigan/Wolves et al, right at this moment. He's a quality player.

Agreed. I don't think we can talk about the starting line-up in six or seven years' time, because most of us can't guess what it will be in six or seven games' time! However, with this fresh talent coming in from elsewhere to add to the likes of Josh, Bertrand et al. emerging through the youth academy, I think in a couple of years we will actually see some Chelsea academy graduates in the first-team. Agreed. Add in competition from Meireles, who AVB evidently rates highly, and Lampard will have to up his game - much like he did when Ballack arrived.

Bertrand should be playing a minimum of ten Premier League games this season, in my opinion. Because not only he is ready, but because this Ashley Cole chap is nothing like the guy who was, in my opinion, our best player between 2008 and 2010.
