People seem to be missing the point of the topic. This is a topic is discuss our best squad from a particular, not our best-ever team.

Our team in 2007/08 was the best team we have ever had: Cech/Cudicini/Hilario Belletti/Ferreira/Bosingwa - Terry/Ben Haim - Carvalho/Alex - Cole/Bridge Makelele/Mikel/Essien Lampard/Essien/Malouda - Ballack/Essien/Cole Anelka/Shevchenko/SWP - Drogba/Shevchenko/Pizarro - Joe Cole/Kalou/Malouda If we had that team today, we'd walk the league.

I've always wondered where the surplus donations went... Thank you for all the donations this month guys! Let's see if we can break the £100 barrier!

Surely those women should be arrested, the boy only looks 12.

I think the only reason why Ivanovic starts at right-back is because he was a successful experiment by Hiddink and then by Ancelotti. I remember under Scolari he played predominantly as a centre back, and he was absolutely brilliant.
-
No-one denies that, he's just French bat-shit crazy!
-
"He's our new JT", "best defender in the league"... weren't we slagging him off last month? A couple of magnificent performances and infinitely better at CB than Luiz. However if Mourinho ever accepts Ivanovic and Terry as our strongest CB pairing (which they are), Cahill would be sat on the bench. For some reason Mourinho thinks Ivan is a great right-back. For me that is the only thing that is getting Gaz into the team. But credit where it is due, he has been excellent since we drew at the Emirates. Before then he looked very shaky.

Agreed, Courtois has a big mouth. The fact his dad has to come out and say his words have been twisted shows he is very immature. I don't remember Cech being petulant at that age. As for his performance - I have only seen highlights as I was watching Preston vs Forest, the FA Cup 4th round replay, which by all accounts was the superior game to have watched. Proper cup tie. But anyway, Courtois: very unlucky for two of the goals especially. As a goalkeeper myself I will acknowledge he can have done nothing about the goals except for Jesse's, but you can then argue it is a clever finish to reverse the ball through the goalkeeper - it is incredibly awkward to save a ball that is low and directly at you, funnily enough. You never know to go with hands or feet. Either way he should have done better but those saves are a lot tougher than people think.

Obviously I am biased as I am a Chelsea fan, but I never saw the appeal of Scholes. I think most people would agree that, at the very least, Gerrard and Lampard are on the same level. At their absolute best I'd have said Lampard just about edged it (he was the best central midfielder in the world 2005-2008 without question, in my eyes). But Scholes never did it for me, ever. Overrated to the extreme. A good player, but nothing special in my eyes. I'll always be of the opinion Beckham achieved more.

Who would you sign to lead the line at Chelsea?

Pellegrini will have learned his lesson after two league defeats, surely? Right?
-
I am too, to be honest.
-
4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses isn't the most impressive record, either - 15 points out of 30!
-
Exactly. We're good on the counter attack. If teams don't attack us in the first place, we're not even half as effective!
-
Hazard will win Young Player of the Year, no doubt about it.
-
The great mystery of Ivanovic is how he is incredible in the big games, like on Monday, yet utter dirge against shit teams like West Ham.
-
Well, Rambo was put into the 3 behind the striker, with Hazard staying left, and Willian being pushed central to accommodate Ramires on the right. Oscar was left out of the three and Ramires came in to replace him, so strictly speaking he did indeed play instead of Oscar. But again, I'm not getting hung up on the what-ifs, buts and maybes, but I do take your point! José's decision not to play Oscar was vindicated, but he did a good job when he came on, everyone saw that, so people saying we played our best football without him should also acknowledge we played without Torres, Lampard, Mikel, Cole, Schurrle, Salah, etc. etc. We have a squad for a reason!
-
They are poor, but they always raise their game when they play against us. Apart from the 2-0 at the Bridge last season where we absolutely dominated them, and the 3-0 at SJP in December 2011 where that scoreline really did flatter us, we've struggled against them in the last half-dozen or so games. This will be a scrappy, awful game, and I think we'll be lucky to see more than a couple of goals, I really do.
-
But then you can say that if Oscar had have started ahead of Ramires, he'd have scored that chance Rambo fluffed and we'd be signing his praises! Food for thought indeed, but the hypotheticals shouldn't be looked into. He has been one of our best players this season, and certainly one of the most exciting to watch.

Meireles' goal pissed off Benfica fans far more than losing the Europa League final! Porto legend! HAHA, how the fuck did Joe Hart run more than Jovetic?!
-
Ba deserves a run out after his number of cameo appearances recently. He's only been given three starts all season, but has done well in all three, scoring one and assisting one in those three matches.
