Are we even linked with him?
-
So why are Spurs going? Not even the best club in their postcode.
-
If we're wanting to buy a "solid" squad player, why the hell are we spending £40m on this one-season wonder, when we could be going for myriad other players who are far more effective and would fetch a lesser price? Nonsensical. That Chalobah lad at Watford would fit the bill.

P.S. Andreas Christensen >Paolo Maldini

When you nut but she keep on goin
-
50% fit Bakayoko > fully-fit Matic. Have we resurrected Michael Essien?
-
I don't think we can really judge him in his current physical state, especially since Spurs quite literally had at least four players around him whenever he got the ball. Should have scored, should have held the ball up better, but I reckon even a prime Drogba would have struggled yesterday. I'm still unsure as to how we won.
-
Never heard of him
-
LMAO you think we'll score 2.
-
Not sure about Christensen's shot, Sky showed a really good angle from behind the angle that the ball was struck... I genuinely believe it was going to come back full off the post. Any striker worth their salt has to gamble on the one at the back post, so I can't really fault him for that. But I do entirely take your point! He's better than a lot of people give credit for.

He's not going to last the season, is he? I could see him walking, to be honest. The fact he signed a new deal without committing any further time to the club, suggests both parties want to keep their options open. Obviously Conte is not the yes-man who answers to Emenalo that the board want. Anyone up for Hiddink Round 3?
-
To the Board, In 2015/16, you failed in invest in a title-winning squad. This was not a squad of exceptional talents - instead it relied on the brilliance of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard to drag itself through the final three months of the season. Instead of improving that team, you went out and bought Pedro - okay, fair investment, but he'd need time to settle - and a bunch of second-rate players with no real transfer strategy. It was like someone had simulated Football Manager by 12 months, and picked out a few obscure, random "potentials" who will no doubt never even play for the club. José Mourinho paid for the subsequent shitstorm with his job, but the biggest sufferers were us, the fans, who had to endure a season of mishit Willian free-kicks (most people only remember the good ones...), a midfield double-pivot of Nemanja Matic and John Mikel Obi, Eden Hazard substituting himself, and two "strikers" who scored two goals between them all season. Not to mention the fact our season ended when Kurt Zouma's knee decided enough was enough. In came Guus Hiddink to oversee the subsequent purgatory that led to an absolute humping by PSG in the Champions League, FA Cup humiliation at the hands of a Chelsea reject, and a 10th-place finish. Lessons seemingly have not been learnt. Back the manager who won us the fucking title, and do it now. No title was ever won or lost after the first game, but after 3 or 4, we all know we could be out of the reckoning. We barely have a squad. So stop being shitcunts and buy some players. Best regards, Alex xxx

What I can't stand is the double standards. Not even one replay of Ben Mee's studs-up, scissor challenge that earned him a yellow, but for the sake of consistency, should have warranted a red. Not even one replay of the elbow by Tarkowski on Michy, which should have been a penalty.
-
Just watching the highlights of the game on Sky, it's convenient that they forgot to show Ben Mee's knee-height, studs-up challenge, isn't it? Agenda. Still, Cahill was a fucking donkey. He's a walking accident and I suppose it is a blessing in disguise he can't be slaughtered by Harry Kane once more.

Love Cesc, but he was a stupid, stupid boy yesterday. Stupid for sarcastically clapping the FA, who, in their Gestapo-like pervasive worldview, believe that anyone who has the temerity to challenge them warrants punishment. Stupid for going in recklessly in an area of the pitch where it is needless to put in such a tackle. Arguably could have been a red.
-
Didn't look over-awed or out-of-place at all yesterday. Uncomfortable at times but that's because, effectively, he's with a new team and playing with new team-mates, possibly also in a new system (I don't know, I don't watch the Bundesliga as it's even more boring than the La Liga snoozefest). Definite potential, let's hope Cahill's out for 3 games so we get a proper look at the lad

Absolutely love this bloke's attitude. I would go as far as saying he was the only one showed showed some bollocks in the first half. What a stupendous cross for Morata's goal, too.
-
He was really good yesterday, as @Sh0n3x mentioned above, his movement for his goal was fantastic - on the first view, I had no fucking clue where he came from! More of that please, senor!
-
Despite the fight-back, it gives Conte more ammunition to go the board, tell them what absolute shitcunts they are, and inspire them to actually maybe considering buying another player or four?
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see either Bakayoko "forced" into playing even if not fully fit, or Rudiger/Luiz starting in CDM alongside N'Golo.
-
This is what I'm happiest about. I love Antonio, but what I saw in the first half worried me. It seemed as if there was no fight or spirit, the complete opposite of last season. The second-half performance doesn't excuse how poor we were until half-time, but I'm actually proud and in the end frustrated because we so nearly snatched something. I think I'd have preferred to have seen us get smashed than lose by such narrow margins, but there is a moral victory to be found amongst all of this and I am seriously impressed by Morata. Just think - he was playing against two banks of four, for a team with only 10 - and then 9 - men on the pitch, missing two of their best attacking players in Pedro and Eden. Imagine how good he'll be when fully fit and with a half-decent line-up alongside him? Usually after a defeat I'm fucking gutted, but the way we rallied says a lot about the manager and about this team. I'm proud despite the defeat, I remember a similar occasion when we lost 4-2 to Man City under Ancelotti in the Double season. We went down to 9 in that game also, but from 4-1 down, in the last ten minutes we dominated them. Got it back to 4-2 and then nearly scored a third as well. Today was a similar display of character and things will only improve when we bring in some reinforcements, when our two best players from last season (IMO) are back in the side, and with some more reinforcements. The positives: Let's focus on the plus points and move on to next weekend.
-
Proud of this fightback. Amazing.
-
In the circumstances, I actually have to say I am proud of the fight and desire of the players. Since Morata came on, I'm not sure which team was down a man.
-
We'll no doubt panic-buy Drinkwater in time for him to make his debut next Sunday.
-
What the fuck are we going to do against Spurs?! We have one central midfielder.
