Wait and see City drop points at Fulham and these cunts stuff us 3 or 4-0. Probably not even going to bother watching it - it will be a 3421/352 again with Kante and Gallagher upfront because Lampard is clueless.
-
Why not? If he is/was in the door sooner he could properly evaluate the players he wants and then say right get rid of players X, Y and Z before pre-season starts their not going to be part of my plan. The squads huge, its not going to be easy for him to just come in over pre-season and trim 7 or 8 players with all the loan players returning and an already bloated squad that is like 30+ players. I had a look at the squad and loanees to return who may be integrated/re-integrated in pre season - there is probably going to be over 45 players here in pre-season looking at the squad now and the loanees before players start leaving. That is ridiculous. Granted some will not be part of the squad but we’ve seen it time and time again, that managers tend to try out a lot of players in pre-season. Thats not including Nkunku also. Ok fitness wise he maybe won’t get much out of the boys but theres still what 6 games he could try combinations and systems out (or if he was appointed 5 games ago, 11 games). Means pre-season could be tailored/streamlined as some things will have already been predetermined in terms of the squad what formation maybe works, who plays well together, who doesn’t. The season is done and dusted but at least having a highly renowned, highly compete manager in place who is going to be here beyond the summer would keep some of these on there toes. Where as with Frank the players are going through the motions because they know he is not going to be here next season so it doesn’t matter if they show up or not.
-
Why did he bother taking it if he thought he couldn’t improve us though? Just defeats the purpose of doing so. He might as well resign if he thinks he can’t change it no? Your logic is baffling. Yeah he’s not bullshitting about it but hes still got 6 games so seems like hes just given up already.
-
He was brought in for a reason though - to try turn the tide and steady the ship. These comments basically admitting defeat - oh look its not my fault if I can’t get a turn around out of these. So why did he bother accepting the job? Why did they bother hiring him? His attitude and general comments have been piss poor - his appointment didn’t inspire confidence but imagine listening to all this shite every time before and after a match? Would get the players right up for a match/training. Managers are meant to try and inspire players - no wonder we have lost 5 in a row under him, hugely inspiring.
-
Listening to his interviews and comments since coming in makes me wonder why he even bothered coming back. “these issues predates me” “I cant see things getting better” “I want to win games but I can see why we aren’t” “l took it on knowing what it may be but I’m proud to be manager here” this one is the worst of the lot - we are fucking 11th, winless in however many games, playing some of the worst football we’ve played in years yet “he’s proud to be Chelsea manager” “it’s really hard at this stage of the season to get that turn” The guys a fucking joke. Really inspiring. He will never manage at a high level again and honestly I am glad.

You didn’t say that but you said this season is one of transition. How often do teams in a “transition year” go from finishing 4th to 11th (perhaps even lower)? Not very often. It’s ridiculous to even use that as an excuse to explain this massive drop off. I mean we have went from a not so semi stable club off the pitch (with the circumstances of sanctions on Roman) to an absolute disaster (with no sanctions) on and off it. Do you think when we signed players Lso Boehly & co told them it would be a season of transition….. Whats changed in that time? Who’s decisions have influenced 95% of the change? Don’t tell me your that naive. We are a laughing stock. Boehly and Eghbali’s ownership so far has been a laughing stock. Its no coincidence. If it were Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, City or Spurs - you’d agree and be pissing yourself laughing at then. Even for all the bad seasons they’ve had, have they ever had a season this bad in the last 20 years? We could finish lower still.
-
More time him and Eghbali take to do what is right, the more time fans will continue to turn on them - deservedly so also. Sack Frank. Get Poch in. Give him the 6 games or whatever to figure out who he wants to work with and who he doesn’t. Already wasted best part of a season so why are we hanging around?
-
I see he isn’t taking any responsibility regarding not playing a CF tonight from minute 1. Just blaming a lack of goals in the squad saying it predates him. Perhaps that is partly true on goals being an issue before him but playing no more than 1 recognised attacking player at home v Brentford and Real Madrid is on him. Part of the problem, not the solution but looks like he is now trying to cover his own back with comments like that. Hope he enjoys managing in the championship because there will be no PL clubs touching him with a 9 ft barge pole.
-
We weren't that bad though under Tuchel in particular, there was a lot more individual or unforced errors that cost us. Now its just a full blown shambles, confidence is gone, nothing goes for them, tactics are a mess, team selections a mess. Everything.
-
Lampard truly tarnishing his legacy as a player coming back here as a manager AGAIN after the first time imo. There was like a 15/20 min period where Mudryk - who I’ve felt has been shocking since coming here so glad to see him prove me wrong - as well as Auba looked lively and along with Sterling looking more of sorts on the right side… maybe a decent front 3 to use no? Begs the question - why didn’t he start a CF? Why didn’t he start 2 wingers? Why has Auba not played more often? If he was sharper from more game time, he likely would of scored the chance from Kovacic’s pass - you can see he is rusty but the runs right and the intentions good. Most of the other players were shocking but we wasted 45 minutes in the first half - by not having any real recognised attacking players bar Sterling who was shoehorned into a CF role. So that’s on the manager.
-
So 45 mins wasted, a goal behind and finally… Frank puts on a CF and another winger.
-
Fans booing at HT. Deservedly so. Should have been louder if anything. Fuck paying to watch that. We were bad under Tuchel in the first games of the season yes but under Potter and Frank, it is fucking life sapping watching these shower of fannys. Absolutely pathetic. Poch in ASAP. Boehly and Egbhali have a word with yourselves if your both going to let this nonsense that you created continue beyond tonight.
-
Also why is it when we don’t have men in the box we cross it but when we do, we dont?!??!?? Every FUCKING time.
-
Tremendous. Talk about the basics of football. No point setting up hard to beat if you cannot defend a basic corner. Again - Frank - this is a fucking regular thing that happened under him last time and at Everton. Lampard out at HT, Ted Lasso in?
-
I see the tactics work the ball wide, cross it in, hope to god we have men in the box. Makes it even worse we don’t have a 9 in there (or anybody over 5 ft 10). Chilwell’s corners pretty excellent…… nat
-
Lampard should be sacked for playing Gallagher upfront again, what a bellend. Or if its a 3421, he should be sacked for playing Kante as a 10. Fucking joke of a manager. A near billion pound squad and he’s reverted to this shite. End this fucking season just forfeit all the games remaining. Terrible terrible terrible. Kai is out, he has a number 9 on the bench and another one out of the squad- yet he plays someone who barely resembles a midfielder upfront….
-
The answer (or should be the answer) to the question is we appointed him. Case closed, cheers. Saved you all 20 mins.
-
How is that clear? You going to say that having 4 diff managers in one full year of ownership- yeah Bruno was 1 game and yes Franks caretaker but its still 4 managers on oaper - is signs of a competently run organisation? Honestly cant win with you at all. Stuck by Potter for months now your telling me Boehly/Eghbali’s footballing decisions haven’t been that bad? Its more than getting one manager wrong, its ripping out the whole footballing infrastructure, delegating roles to themselves their not suitably qualified for (Boehly as whatever he wanted to call his role in the summer window being heavily involved in the transfers), the dragged out failure to recruit technical and sporting directors to replace Marina, Petr so soon, hiring Potter, sacking Potter far too late, rehiring Frank. Sacking however many other folk in the club. There is a complete clusterfuck of things that have contributed to this season all stemming from poor decisions made by Boehly/Eghbali. Even the point on Enzo, I didn’t expect us to get it done and was very vocal about how stupid they looked mainly because Boehly and Eghbali told the players camp they would pay the release clause in one go to agitate him to move thinking he would push hard - before proceeding to negotiate for about 2 weeks until it was done. Put it this way - forget the football shit - do you think if Amazon hired 4 CEOs in one year they’d be deemed to have had a successful year?
-
One example perhsps thats right but he specifically only wanted to go for van Dijk, Alisson, Fabinho, Thiago (& the boy who went to Wolves for 42m) & Nunez. When they knew Werner was too expensive they only pursued Jota. When Sporting priced them out of a move for the boy at Wolves, they didn’t panic buy anyone. I think Klopp has had the sort of control you would want any manager to be given re transfers.
-
Tbf it depends on the owners. And their model. If the new model was proven to work and was successful, you could at least justify it but it doesn’t and if it doesn’t again - then it has to be questioned why aren’t we given them more of a say/more control? Just look at Klopp’s transfers at Liverpool. Ok we can’t get our main target this window, don’t buy anyone else and we will go again next time. Thats proof of a manager getting total control and it being successful.
-
Hardly too early 🤣 Your post really just screams the typical if he goes to Spurs he isn’t good enough for us mentality - which is ironic d considering the fact we are basicslly hiring an ex Spurs manager specifically for what he did at Spurs. On Nagelsmann - I mean its fair to say he was maybe harshly sacked from one of the best and biggest jobs in world football - which he deserved to be in. We did consider him so its not like the club felt he wasn’t ready for the job in some degree - they just weren’t willing to give him the control he wanted by the sounds of it (Enrique also). It’s also clear he wont get full control at Spurs so maybe it won’t happen (hopefully). I mean they wouldn’t give ‘box office’ managers like Mourinho and Conte more control for whatever reasons (some may be right some may be wrong) with Levy there so can’t see it changing. It does seem a bit ridiculous we basically hired some major cogs of the RB model to implement it, only to basically either be rejected by or reject their most successful clubs golden boy manager though.

Would like to see Fofana thrown in up front out of the guys who haven’t really played - with Kai out makes more sense than perhaps throwing in Carney somewhere and going with this Gallagher/Sterling/other strange combos. His lack of inclusion since Potter froze out Aubamayang has been strange - I mean we lack goals and not saying he’s going to score 30 goals in a season but an actual more traditional/nature 9 would of been refreshing to see perhaps. Rest of the team, try and keep the regular fixtures though - in defence and midfield in particularly. Fully agree throwing in a lot of youngsters who haven’t featured could probably be more detrimental than good - you generally want to integrate one or two of them into a team thats doing well to take some of the burden off of them/so they can maybe make mistakes and they won’t hugely affect the game. Right now, not so much. Enzo and Badiashile have to regular parts of this team though to the end of the season (they more or less have been already or Enzo has). And then maybe DD Fofana should get some minutes as he is actually the only 9 outside of Auba who I have no idea if Frank will use him or not.
-
Are we linked to Pedri? Thought it was Gavi? Or just in general.
-
Yep he was a weird signing. English, young, handful of PL experience - seemed like an odd Abramovich era signing if I am honest. Just didn’t make sense. Probably should of stayed at Villa.
-
Resigning Mount would be far from it. I mean surely most can see Poch might actually utilise someone like Mase, no? He fits the profile of these kind of players he has improved at Southamtpon and Spurs - granted MM has been pish this season in terms of his consistency and outputs but he has that aggression and energy to get around the pitch and make a telling contribution in a high pressing team as well as some individual qualities which we all know he can show - just needs to start doing it again and really fine tune that part of his game. Even Gallagher, I think Poch may even find a place for him in the squad - although I hope not as firstly I think he isn’t cut out for the level we want to be going towards and secondly, we need to cut some players to make the squad smaller (Ruben also has to go 100%). I’ve always believed if the club takes the contract down from 7 years to 3/4, Mason would resign regardless. So we will see.
