Awful. Paid £100m too much. Anyone defending him needs to stop watching football. There are no excuses to be so sloppy as a professional midfielder in possession. Under pressure, under no pressure. How many braindead fouls does he concede also? 100% biggest flop of the season not just in the PL but probably the whole of Europe.

Yeah if we sack Poch to hire Hansi Flick or Jose, I am done with this ownership. Well I will be honest, I have been thinking that way since they sacked Tuchel in all reality and even before the failure to keep essential personnel like Marina and Petr about from the old regime until they could smooth the transition and appoint their own people it was absolutely crazy. Regardless, Poch has to go but can’t see it before the summer and in all fairness he still has that cup final he can maybe wins. Who do we go to next though? I mean which top manager is looking at this job and thinking yeah I want a piece of that? We don’t have the pulling power or historical success we had under the previous ownership so don’t get too excited. We aren’t sacking Poch and getting Klopp. Or Pep. Or Tuchel. Or any of these up and coming managers like Xabi Alonso. The owners are to blame for everything. Absolutely everything. Not one decision they have made has had a positive effect. They have been making awful decisions and gambling since coming in. Players are an absolute embarrassment too, people said lads downed tools last season but we have got a squad of gutless nobodies who clearly don’t have what it takes at this level. They’ve barely picked up from what we seen last season at times, if at all, quality wise the level is so bad too. No excuses either they’ve had a pre-season, its a new group with a lot of younger players… you’d expect more energy, a bit of youthful exuberance or a buzz but there is absolutely nothing. And then ability wise, nothing. Clearly. Lets just say 80% of the £1 billion we have spent has been wasted and people need to answer for it. Those 2 nuggets in charge of footballing operations- & I’ve been saying it for months and months - aren’t up to it and will be a cancer to any chance this club has of making any progress. Well, if there is any chance. Seriously wont be going to the Bridge anytime soon. Enough is enough.

He wanted a 3 year deal - which I believe would have been on reduced terms to meet the new direction of the club - but we wouldn’t offer it so he was quite right to take another offer. The club pretty much gave up after one offer as 3 years was some sort of issue for them. Yet they have given utter shite unproven players 7 & 8 year deals. There is no consistency. Yes people will say his injuries but he has played virtually every minute in Saudi and we have had more injuries than fuck knows what since Boehly appointed whoever as medical staff. Also, let’s not pretend people (particularly people on here one who has been banging on about selling Kante for about 5 years 🤣) wanted him to leave also. Some of us seen this coming. Losing Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante in the space of 2 windows and replacing them with 2 guys with like 200 games at a decent level between them and a few kids who may be good was suicide. But all three of them “weren’t good enough for Chelsea” which is odd because even at their worst they were all much better than what we are seeing now from the 2 we got for quarter of a billion pounds.
-
The club might. We need to generate funds by the sounds of it to not breach FPP or whatever it is. Thats without talking about making any more signings in the summer also. Its a real mess we could potentially end up in.
-
Should be titled “8 Chelsea starlets who could be sold in 2024”
-
The word briefly probably means he was like an 8 or 9th option or they seen his name and thought fuck that.
-
Yeah sure to go with the other 37252 young midfielders we have who aren’t going to make the grade here in all likelihood. Lets just sign them all.

If you read the post I had quoted and continued reading the conversation beforehand you would of seen myself and other users were talking about Nunez at Liverpool… Oh come on what a load of nonsense 🤣 Is it the systems fault Caicedo cannot play forwards when under pressure most weeks? Or that he keeps conceding stupid fouls from braindead decision making/reading of the game most weeks? Or is it the systems fault when Enzo cannot run and folk get past him very easily most weeks? Because he isn’t aware of whats around him most weeks? Or that he goes missing in bigger games against better teams? Yes he can dictate a game against a league 1 or championship side having like 100+ touches but any decent premiership footballer could do that. Thats not why he was signed. I am genuinely sick of the excuses for these 2. Nearly £250m spent on them and they are giving out absolutely nothing performances. I get people believed they‘d be fantastic players and signings but lets get one thing straight -we aren’t fortunate to have them here, they are fortunate we rather stupidly spunked 250M on them because no way any top team would sign them based on what they’ve seen this season.
-
Far from it. He has double figure goals and assists this season. IIRC its 11 goals & 11 assists in like 2000 minutes. If he was really clinical though he would have about at least 50 goals for Liverpool by now though because he has missed a lot of chances. But he still gets goals and a decent amount for someone who if he was more clinical would be scoring 20-25 a season. Easily. Another men v boys performance. Badiashile, Enzo, Caicedo in particular for me so so bad. Enzo looks like he is running in quick sand every time he has to go back the way. Send him and Caicedo back to Argentina and Ecuador because they are no fucking use. Poch is gone come the summer I reckon.
-
Another youngster who wouldn’t have made a difference here, or at least more than likely. Brentford is a very good move for him, particularly for where he is at in his career and what they do in terms of developing players. The chances of playing without huge added pressure as well, where he can make mistakes is better. I am assuming your reaction means your upset that we haven’t or won’t sign him?
-
Sesko’s output is very misleading, he has only started 5 games for Leipzig. But yes he is a project player also - although the potential is huge. But again Broja was our own Sesko/Jackson 2 seasons ago after a spell at Southampton where the level and doing well there can be very misleading - as I am sure it will also he with Lavia - and he still has struggled for continuity here so it doesn’t help. Any CF we sign should be someone with 2 or 3 seasons of established and consistent performances in a competitive league. Who these players are is the issue as these top level guys are difficult to find but that should be the sort of experience we are needing for the likes of a CB & CF to help the team.
-
Exactly. Nail on head. I bet hardly anyone on here saying he would be a good move has even seen him play yet he’s automatically “better than Broja”. The same Broja who not too long ago, was better than every CF we had 2 seasons ago whilst on loan at Southampton. The level of idiocy on here sometimes blows my mind.
-
Yeah he needed to play a run of 5 or 6 games from the beginning early on in the season to get into a grove for me. Using him sporadically and benching him the game after he scored was also mindblowing retarded. Some were saying he was similar to Haaland (😂) after his loan at Southampton so laughable really but just shows that the level there is different to here - as we’ve seen with Caicedo & Colwill too and undoubtedly will see with Lavia. Unrealistic expectations from the offset never help. £30-35m = sell.
-
Glad to see some more recognition for Disasi, last few games he has really shown some good moments.
-
Another win scraped. 3 points but papering over the cracks. Joe Cole talking about beating Fulham 1-0 “feeling more than it is” yes its a rivalry but fucking hell, embarrassing.
-
Also amount of times our lads wave their arms any chance they get when we don’t get a little foul is mental. Play to the fuckin whistle instead of stopping and waving your arms!
-
Just me or is Noni an absolute eyesore to watch? Looks like he is going to trip over his own feet every time he gets the ball.
-
Obviously it is. Makes no contact with the ball fuck sake 🤣
-
Caicedo is killing our build up holy fuck £115m he cant pass the ball forward. Cowboy shit.
-
More movement needed second half. Like watching 4 scarecrows in attack first half.
-
Yet he was meticulously known for running tactical drills and attacking patterns at Espanyol, Southampton & Spurs. PSG was a weird one for him, that front 3 not pressing, all superstars in their own right.
-
Yep. Think he needs taken out the team just to sort of take him out the firing line but that wont happen to Marc & Ben are fit
-
Wait and see Pahlinha put in an absolute proper performance against us in midfield as well. Why we didn’t even try to get him in the summer is beyond me instead of Ugo or Lavia. Fulham can be as good as they want to be but have been inconsistent this season too. Not confident either way.
-
Well tbf, for me, I think most top managers would look at this job and think fuck that. For a magnitude of reasons. In the past with Roman, you knew once results went to shit and expectations weren’t being met that the next permanent managers instructions would be get the team back being really competitive and winning trophies. Or they would be out. There is a clear pattern in the last 15-20 years, when we changed managers, we usually ended up winning trophies until that cycle happens again. There is next to nothing positive that has come out of these past 18 months or longer with Boehly & ClownLake. Nothing what so ever. Nothing that would excite any genuine top managers if we were to change Poch. Our best finish with them was right at beginning when they took over when Tuchel got us 3rd place. In the 2 full seasons - when this one finishes can’t fucking come soon enough - our finishes we’ve finished 12th & will likely be around 8-12th this season. There doesn’t seem to be any real ambition to be successful now from the club, it seems very much a long term strategy. And a risky one at that. Then not to mention the lack of quality in the squad, the recruitment criteria/profile, the fact that spending a lot of money is going to be difficult as we already have spunked £1bn in 3 windows, no European football next season again (90% sure on this)… what top top manager is going to go yeah this Chelsea project is what I want to go and get involved in.
-
Is it just me or did anyone else think Cucurella’s performances under Poch definitely improved a lot compared to last season though? They couldn’t get much worse granted but I don’t believe he all of a sudden is a bad player, even like Caicedo although his price tag is scandalous and he is having an even worse first season than Cucu did so far. Loaning Lewis out to play every week would have been the right thing to do. The loan to Newcastle with buy option is more than likely to fall through unless he meets certain performance criteria, even Eddie Howe has said he doesn’t know if he will be at Newcastle next year. So maybe if he comes back, we find him an actual loan to try develop him instead of thinking about making a profit on him. Another silly decision from the footballing directors and owners (although I think he is a Geordie so maybe was difficult for him not to push for this move also) because he has rarely had a look in for Newcastle really. I don’t think for one minute that currently he is a better option than the LBs we have got right now though (Maatsen not included). And anyone saying he is, they’re just straight up lying.
