Yeah not feeling that Poch is going to get us anywhere. Saying our reality is mid table after a £1 billion pound spend makes either him look bad or the recruitment look bad. Something has to give, preferably the recruitment guys IMO but I think theres more chance Poch will go before they do.
-
Honestly if he is a Lawrence and Winstanley choice may as well expect him to be a dud. Hopefully any signings made in January will be Pochettino led.
-
Apparently he was the best midfielder in the PL last season (or so he was according to half of this forum), now he is a project? Fuck off. Piss poor again tonight alongside his partner and not for the first time they’ve been all over the shop. Both are young players but still, it is unacceptable to say they are projects when we are talking about a World Cup winner who cost £105m and a supposed top midfielder who cost £115m, both of who couldn’t even do the basics for their position or look half arsed tonight. Same with most of them. If they had done the basics and lacked the quality yes different story but they didn’t even do the basics, didn’t look arsed. Absolute joke. If this level of performance is acceptable for the coach or the players then I cannot wait for this season to end. Another waste of a season as we continue to drift off in to becoming a mid table team.

General consensus was that the past 3 windows these owners put their hands in their pockets and signed some genuine potential “world class” players so they deserved some slack despite a lot of criticism from various sections of the fanbase. Honestly, for me, they’ve stripped the club of what it was under the previous regime and for the worse. The whole plan, from overhauling various departments of the staff, huge amount of signings/departures and general direction they are looking to take the club. Giving the majority of these young players 7/8 year contracts has allowed some sort of notion to set in that we don’t need to be competitive immediately because we will definitely be competitive in the future. Or thats how it looks from the last 18 months. Not to mention the owners, manager and media constantly driving the bandwagon using words like “project” and “processes” like there is no tomorrow. After a £1 billion pound spend, to look considerably much worse off than we did 18 months ago, embarrassing isn’t even the word. And it is not sustainable either to spend £1bn and get it so considerably wrong which begs the question, how much more money are these going to need to spend? How much more can we realistically afford to spend if we aren’t anywhere near to where we should be competitively in terms of European football? I’ve said it time and time again, Winstanley and Stewart both have to go, they are at the top of the food chain for footballing operations. Their targets, transfers, negotiating…. out of their depth considerably.

Clearlake have absolutely killed what Chelsea is and has been about since 2003: being successful and being successful in the present. Pochettino will be another sacrificial lamb, be it tonight or somewhere between now and the end of the season and yes not without blame. Been saying it since the Tuchel sacking - the real problem lies with the owners, the culture they are bringing as well as these dipshit football directors who everyone was sitting wanking over because we paid a huge release clause for one player and about £70m too much for another in last January’s window. Giving some of these young players these 7 or 8 year contracts as well… and even the more high profile names/fees. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo tonight, wow, pathetic and not for the first time this season. Cost £225m in total. Mudryk again, passed for the goal but every decision he made was poor. Cost £70-80m. Based off tonight you wouldn’t say they were worth £30m combined - hopeless. These fucking clowns running our club and picking our transfers are clueless. How they and Poch can think Sanchez & Disasi, are good enough for a club like Chelsea? How? They wouldn’t get a fucking game for Sheffield United ffs.
-
Probably the recruitment boy from Brighton we signed when we took Potter.
-
James miles off it. Fucking miles off it. How fucking obvious is it he is coming inside there? Little skip and jump thing as well, pointless….
-
Beginning to think his signing was a PR stunt.
-
Moments of magic? Are you kidding me? What ones do you mean, the missing a sitter? Messing up an easy pass? Shooting in a position where his team mate was better positioned? Yes he played the pass to Palmer but hardly magic, the magic part was done by Palmer… Anyone using Mudryk and moments of magic needs to stop reading text commentary and watch the actual game.
-
Undeserved but great finish. Palmer is a one man team, everyone else has been shocking. He’s not been great but only one you’d actually think can do something worth of note.
-
Yeah I’m sorry but if this is the continued level of performance, Poch can get to fuck. Hopeless performance wise and tactically against this Manchester United side? Sackable offence on its own. Also did we sign Michael Jackson instead of Nicolas Jackson? What the fuck were he and Sterling doing there
-
Been coming. They’d had what 2 or 3 big chances already before that. Enzo-Caicedo pairing in a 4231 is laughable. Gaps everywhere. Also Enzo again what the fuck is he making a challenge like that for on McTominay for when the balls gone up basically? Absolute baffoon. Is he trying to get sent off 😂
-
Anybody. Mudryk is a wasted shirt
-
True but still, Palmer and Sterling works on the wings. Would of rathered Poch played a kid in MF than him. Sitter missed and a piss poor pass by the man in question in 2 big situations.
-
Mudryk is a waste of a slot in this team btw also. Poch is going to lose his job constantly picking him. 100%.
-
What the fuck is Enzo playing at?
-
Wow, Luton beating Arsenal. Unsure how anyone can say Raya is a better GK than Ramsdale, absolutely insane. Mental how we and them both ended up with Raya and Sanchez, 2 of the most overrated GKs in the league. …..and its 3-3
-
Still want a lot lot more for him. Definitely has the capability to do more. He has been up and down all season after a promising first 6 months, he’s not really hit any real consistency this season - although I think he’s played a lot of football in the past year and may need a break. Plus neither has the team as a whole but both Enzo and Moises, for the money we’ve paid for them, they were huge statement signings - I don’t think it is wrong to expect more of them particularly. Connor’s probably been our most improved and best midfielder this season under Poch.
-
Lo Celso with a belter. Spurs have faired pretty well compared to the first half. Brave approach trying to go toe to toe with City but they also look like their struggling for some reason.
-
🤣 Lavia is better than Caicedo? Sorry but not a chance. Caicedo’s a good player, never £115m though but he has struggled here yes. Can’t wait for the inevitable meltdown/calling Lavia trash when he doesn’t live up to your outstanding expectations… Onana from Everton? Crack the next joke….
-
Just seeing the game now, Gallagher sent off and Caicedo probably should of went also…. our discipline is really becoming a concern.
-
Yeah lot of other questions re Tuchel that we won’t ever get answers to but we were also told Luis Enrique was seen as “too demanding/wanted too much control” and thats why the Boehly-Clearlake consortium went another way with Pochettino. Again on TT, Bayern are a notoriously well run club and have a specific way of doing things, always have, but even they are willing to work with Tuchel despite knowing his history… so makes me inclined to think that Boehly & co could have maybe been able to do so for longer than 5 months or whatever it was. Again which nobody ever mentions was after an incredibly stressful time for him & the club where his behaviour was absolutely exemplary from the fall out from Russia-Ukraine & Roman situations. Throw in Pat Nevin being removed from media duties by the club I would say that big bad Boehly & co don’t like their decisions being questioned - despite it being blatantly obvious to everybody including Stevie Wonder, that their decision making has hugely influenced the past 18 months, as it has been pretty piss poor. But this is the typical American way, yes its your sport and your club but we know better because we know everything….. and we will do it our way regardless of what you think because we are right and you are wrong. Only just over 8 more years before they can sell up, can’t come soon enough. I think things are going to get much much worse if I am honest, the sheer incompetence at board and footballing operations level is incredible. Either way on signings, one thing is constant, these sporting directors have had involvement on every big decision/signings since January and 90% of them have been bad/severely overpriced with no hope of value for money. And barring Sterling (may divide opinions but been the best one from that first window) the first batch of signings under Boehly/Tuchel haven’t done much either.
-
Started doing good? He scored 1 goal but his performances before and after were hardly good. And he was rightfully subbed off at HT after the Fulham game. Then he scored what was definitely a cross against Arsenal. Not sure where the good performances have been. He has had made around 30 appearances for us and has rarely convinced, how much more leeway/chances does he get? I don’t see people saying the same for Noni but that’s because he didn’t cost £80 odd million. Lets just face it, he isn’t good enough. We got taken for a ride.
-
How many apologies is he going to make? Apologised for not being fit/re-injuring himself last season, then for a poor season, now for a petulant red card…. be one for every day of the week at this rate. “Another lesson to learn” the guys 23, captain of Chelsea, an England international… Even if it was seen as harsh or not, he should know not to kick the ball away after conceding a foul or whatever it was. Just ridiculous in this day and age after the severe cracking down on these type of things over the past few seasons for any footballer to get red carded for this. Never mind the captain, the guy who alongside the managers go to the referee meetings regarding rule changes and everything else at the beginning of the season. If I am honest he has struggled heavily since taking the armband for performances and fitness. Was an incorrect decision when it was made IMO, always thought Silva should of taken it. He has too much to get right yet because RJ is still unreliable fitness wise.
-
So it will soon be coming up to the 1 year anniversary of signing this guy. Apparently, he has been “frustrated” by the lack of top quality service he’s getting here? Or so an ex team mate from Shakhtar has suggested in the media. Ironic because I think most of us have been frustrated watching him run the ball into a area with 3 or 4 opposition players or fuck up easy chances. If we get any offers for him and Noni in January - just sell. Cut our losses. Jesus if he wasn’t on an 8 year contract or whatever, would say just rip his deal up.
