  1. What happens when you wing recruitment. Or then marginalise players on big wages and long contracts without anyone wanting to sign them.
  2. Wont happen. His career is as good as over here although he should be involved in the squad instead of Disasi & that sunday league footballer Tosin 100%. The club will sell him off next summer for profit. Just not happened this window because nobody has stumped up the fee they wanted. Plus in the slim chance it did happen to take him back, I kind of hope he tells them to ram it after not taking him on the US tour and banishing him from first facilities, he deserved much better than that. No way to treat an academy graduate. No surprise now the PFA are looking at abolishing clubs bombing first team players to make them move now also. Get it for 2 or 3 guys but 10-15 players… another masterclass from Clearlake 👍
  3. Obviously Chelsea sources are going to say its a good offer. They said the same about the offers to Mount & Gallagher too which were 1 and 2 year deals. Probably said the same about every other player who has declined offers here too. I quite believe we have offered the £130k p/w believing it to be a very good offer too. Without a shadow of a doubt…. If you were OshimenC you wouldn’t think we were that desperate to sign you with an offer like that. Piss take. Just give him £170-200k p/w and get it fucking done. We have lowered the average wage to 70k across the board one big signing isn’t going to bankrupt us or cause any huge issues fuck sake. Sancho on loan as well - stop fucking about. Dont need him. Try to offload some players instead of signing another winger.
  4. The issue is (I get the idea of being patient with some players/ waiting to January or next summer) but this is a pivotal season - if we fall further away from the top 4 than to it then again the implications this has on the club financially are definitely going to make things more difficult. Not to mention again, the further we fall away the harder it makes it to make up the ground. I genuinely don’t think those guys are going to get the 20-30 odd goal contributions extra most would expect from a reasonable level of CF. The wage structure is one imposed by the clubs owners so ultimately if we don’t make progress due to signing players of lower quality or lower pedigree on those wages/not being able to attract the elite players - then it is on them. On a different note what the fuck are we doing going after Sancho…. when we have so many guys to get rid of maybe 10 off the top of my head at least. This club is bonkers. Like regardless of how Oshimen or Toney would do or what they’d cause - another winger over a number 9 is fucking mindblowing.
  5. Did we break even? Probably not. Who they gonna sell him to next?
  6. Lets be honest, I do get the point your trying to make but realistically we are going to get nowhere with a false 9. And the itinerary all summer has been to recruit a striker alongside Guiu. Oshimen and Toney not perfect by any stretch but both much better than Jackson, Guiu and playing anybody as false 9s. Jackson couldn’t finish his dinner and Guiu needs to grow into first team football. Be a painful season again. Saudi’s not fucking about though, agreed deals for 2 players, if Oshimen doesn’t go they get Toney or vice versa. Ruthless.
  7. Nobody disputing that. Not at all. Do you think if we had offered him a third of that from the get go he’s be going to Saudi though?
  8. Napoli played us a blinder. Got Lukaku for what £10m cheaper than we originally wanted to sell him for only for Oshimen to go to Saudi 😂 Not sure whether to laugh or cry at these muppets running the club. Ok we can say the Saudi’s have offered insane money all we want but if we had actually put together a half decent proposal - he’d already have agreed a move here by now. Not rocket science, we start fannying about, offers opportunities up to other teams. If he was 20 or 21 and had played 25-30 games in some obscure league you can bet your arse we would have paid the £115m release clause too.
  9. Why would we do it….. Oh wait because not one person running the show has any clue what their doing. Whole Sterling situation is also self inflicted. Ideally we get a fee even if its only £5-8m or something. Like the Jorginho deal. At the same time, cannot see why Arsenal would think they should have to pay a decent fee for a 29 year old player on huge wages when he has been stripped of his squad number and sent him to the bomb squad at his current club. If it were shoe on the other foot, I’d 100% back us going the way Arsenal are looking to go about it. Be interesting to see how it goes.
  10. They will need another club to sell all the players we have with no future to. This talk of us offering Sterling & Chilwell to Man United is surprising. I get they aren’t top top class players, have no future here etc but still seems weird to try and actively offload 2 players to a direct rival for top 4. I know Mason’s move didn’t work out but United are crying out for a left fullback and giving them a half decent one is bizarre. Although injuries probably only thing stopping Chilly from properly performing at a half decent level. But does seem very financially driven to try and get the high earners off the books.
  11. Felix first. Then Sancho potentially? Next we will be going for Rashford. All the supposed world class talents from 3/4 years ago… Sancho would have made more sense prior to signing Felix and even Neto. But not now. But suppose when do our transfers ever make sense?
  12. And more or less all of them were shite for us too 🤣
  13. Perhaps but still means we are overstocked. Even if Noni goes. We literally need 2 guys, maybe 3 to leave to integrate them 2 guys in and ensure they get decent amounts of minutes. Given both are left footed right wingers too. I mean Nkunku and Felix can all play off the left and as a 10. Cole off the right and as a 10. Mudryk plays off the left. Noni off the right. Pedro Neto plays off both sides.
  14. It’s already going to be more than tricky to integrate Estevao and Paez. Irrelevant of how good they are or aren’t. Before the signings of Neto & Felix - not so much, could see them both coming in, perhaps fighting out for minutes on the right wing with Cole moving centrally longer term. Now with Neto, Felix, Noni, Cole, Mudryk, Nkunku… never mind finding minutes for all of these guys. Throw in those 2 next summer and even Angelo who everyone thought was an amazing talent also, cannot tell me there is a plan and pathway for these guys. I get Neto probably is a replacement for Sterling. But for these 2 next summer… where do they play? And who leaves? Neto, Noni & Cole all play off the right. All are under 25 so obviously part of the “long term plan” if there is one…
  15. Apparently willing to stay here and evaluate his options “not only in this window, but in future windows” according to reports from Sky. This is why signing any players on 7/8 year contracts is fucking moronic. Never mind beyond average ones.
  16. True. And on that, there are definitely other players in the squad barring Noni who this applies to also I think - guys who are lazy or poor trainers. Lets see what happens. Sancho links maybe down to Maresca-City EDS connection too.
  17. Sancho would of actually made more sense to play RW/LW as he is actually a natural winger compared to Felix. But none yes makes no sense unless Mudryk goes as well as Raheem, which is unlikely given the footballing directors hard on for Mudryk.
  18. His position, consistency and lax attitude are the biggest concerns I have. If the penny drops here, OK, I will eat humble pie but I think aged 24 it should have done so by now. Particularly given the clubs he has played for already. I suppose his stats there do look promising but I think that for what we need, particularly in terms of reliable contributors in the final third, he’s another wild card. If he is happy being a squad player ok fair enough, he doesn’t strike me as the sort of guy to do that though and I don’t think he really improves our first 11. Or is an actual LW.
  19. World class talent is a big stretch… particularly now when he’s played maybe 7 seasons and had two real stand out ones (first at Benfica and one for Atletico where he was POTY maybe 3/4 years ago?). Usually by 24 players are a bit further along, lot more consistent and starting to properly develop as players as they look to progress into their peak years 26/27. His trajectory and development is anything but that. I don’t see him doing much because he is a luxury player. Can’t afford to have them sort of players in modern day football if you want to be an elite team. Maybe as an impact player perhaps? When games open up and theres a lot of tired legs space? His record in big games is also poor for Atletico & Barca - think in all the quarter finals, semi finals and finals he’s played in he has never scored or assisted (was on a Sky article). Just because an English player cost £50m, doesn’t necessarily mean £46m for Felix is a good deal. If we knew what we were getting every week I could see the logic, but like Mudryk, Noni, Raheem, Nicolas Jackson… Joao is another one in that collection of inconsistent and frustrating. I mean he already showed that in a 6 month loan spell here. Even more, he isn’t naturally a winger which is where many expect him to play, square peg round hole etc. Maybe the penny drops here but generally cannot see it. And if he comes with the same sort of attitude towards off the ball work he did at Atletico, he isn’t going to last very long as Maresca wants us to be a high pressing team by the sounds of it.
  20. Would of rather took a €20m gamble on him than Felix for £46m. Although both are literally the same type of player, all style, no substance, no consistency. But at least for €20m not that big a hit when we would go to sell him next year.
  21. Recognise their error? Should’ve known from the start. Clearly - and this has been for a long time now - there is no actual plan in place for on the pitch and it’s more of a business model… Whats been constant/consistent in our transfer business? Young players, lower incentive based wages, long term deals. Selling academy players for PSR. Selling players on higher wages (some that were only signed 12/24 months ago). I mean otherwise, can you tell me how it is anything else, when managers like Tuchel, Poch, Potter & Maresca all have literally next to nothing in common in terms of playing styles? And you don’t build a playing squad without tailoring it to the manager and his philosophy in all honesty. You can put blocks in place but ultimately, can’t do it all.
  22. There is been hated on for being successful like we were under Roman but then being hated for looking like you have complete retards running the club from top to bottom. It is definitely the second one, not the first. To even think these mob running the club will make us even remotely successful is absolutely crazy.
  23. Well can’t wait for next summer when people are complaining about his inconsistent performances and number of goals or assists. Another scatterguns signing which doesn’t make sense on any level but clearly there is no plan. So lets have at it and see what happens….
  24. Getting rid of Disasi 12 months after buying him is proof enough that the football directors are fucking clueless. Tried his best, had some half decent moments but probably never good enough in the first place. The fact its taken them a year to figure this out, when the plan was always to work towards a certain style of football, is even more proof of how hugely hugely incompetent they are. If it was even in doubt.
