Would’ve liked to see him more based on what he has done in limited appearances this season. Maybe wont be not the most clinical but least he doesn’t have the same petulance Delap & Joao Pedro have. Well it looks like the game plans going to be give the ball to Estevao and hope he does something.
-
Guiu doing a fine job upfront, holding it up, where has he been all season?
-
Some of our passing has been ropey. Like basic passes, being played too late and then puts pressure on the receiver or just poor angles from players receiving. Someone give Joao Pedro some boots with long studs in them, he’s falling all over the place 😂

Wharton will be £80-100m though but yes would take him in the summer. Although again, would a bit more experience be a bad thing in there? Your right though, no offer for Guehi is a joke. At £35m, key position we are screaming out for someone good in. I don’t know if we are planning trying to get him on a free in the summer as that story keeps popping up or just have no intentions of making a move but either way, it is daft. £35m is a bargain for a player of that pedigree. Not making an offer says more. And a bit off topic but given the Cucurella - City links, if we are looking for a left back be in the January or the summer, I think Diego Moreira will possibly end up coming back. If its not Barco from Brighton that is.

Villa needed to find someone to take a player. They are struggling to get someone to take on Harvey Elliots loan deal. Malen to Roma was one mentioned so they could sign Conor on a loan with an option but guessing Spurs managed to stump up to take him from the get go. Something to do with PSR. Oh boy. No mention of a GK yet again. And that old saying “should an opportunity present itself”…… Another attacker is interesting. No chance of us getting a top, top player and wouldn’t expect us to even try - particularly given the scenario surrounding enquiring for Semenyo. Get the feeling it will be another winger as Emegha is already coming in this summer from Straosburg. But again, say we do go for another CF as well as bring Emegha… why did we sign Delap/Joao Pedro? Or if it is another wide player, why did we sign both Garnacho and Gittens? Or Quenda? Defence & midfield yes we could do with doing something there 100%. Particularly this month in MF if we loan Essugo - it makes no sense to loan him without replacing him. The lack of talk of a GK is shocking though. Penders or not.
-
He only sees it specifically from an owners/business point of view. So yes: -the club is making profit -assembled a young squad where the fees are being paid out over durations of longer contracts -younger players on long term, performance related contracts, will be modest wages due to some of their stature -coach on long term contract which will no doubt, again, be very modest again given his statute -potential to generate revenue for European qualification of some sort if achieved (6/7th place and above gets Europe?) But if you’re looking at it from a sporting point of view, it’s a mess. And it won’t change because the main issues in the sporting side, will clash directly with what they are trying to do on the business side. But no, Eghbali is as competent as they come… he has only been directly involved with hiring Potter, Pochettino, Maresca & now Rosenoir on 5, 2, 5 & 6.5 year deals. All within a 4 year period. Screams competent 🙄

Does BlueCo or Boehly own the NY Times 🤣? Not sure if it’s a coincidence or not but they always post a lot of pro/positive/optimistic Chelsea articles when things are going shite.
-
Sure will be a nice option for them. Semenyo, Doku, Marmoush, Savinho, Foden, Chekri, Bernardo Silva… quality options for wide & central positions. Liverpool or United would’ve been the clubs that best fit him in terms of what they needed positionally & competition but he will also get a good number of minutes for City. Same bloke who thought Delap, Gittens & Garnacho signings made us title challengers🤣
-
Aye has improved a lot - not made as many mistakes, keeping out goals he would’ve let in last season, big saves in big moments etc but still the bar is low based on his first 2 seasons. His kicking & decision making is going to be an issue and that won’t change either with Rosenoir’s philosophy (look at Penders at Strasbourg, sweeper keeper essentially). He shouldn’t be the clubs long term number 1. Maybe not an immediate issue as CB is probably more pressing (if he can maintain this form for another 18 months or so would allow us to see what Penders is going to do) but still, we need top top players at CB, GK, CF.

The initial changeout of guys like Neil Bath & Jim Fraser 2 years ago was weird enough. Genuinely we had a great track record throughout all age groups & developing first team players of a certain quality. Bit worried that again, BlueCo’s decision to keep chopping & changing could also end up backfiring on this front as well. Hopefully not, they will need good academy players to sell for compliance with PSR. Was impressed with that. Seemed to give off a lot of positive energy too. Hopefully he gets that into the players because they look absolutely gormless out on the pitch Says he wants to make his own decisions & be his own man - let’s see though, will he be allowed to do so? Not expecting much, speaking well isn’t enough.
-
Wingback 😂😂😂😂 Please god no
-
Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Liverpool, Man City & Arsenal all after him but he’s nothing more than a solid PL CB sure 🙄 Trev, Tosin, Fofana & Colwill are all a lot worse than him…. in various different levels. But all worse. I mean you have seem them play for us right? And have seen Guehi play? Seriously? Would be a massive coup to get Guehi, not going to solve every issue we have (lacking an elite GK also) but definitely a massive, massive improvement on what we call a defence.
-
Ben Roberts back to GK coach. Can someone please tell me why he was given a job title that is “Head of Global Goalkeeping” like the job itself, what does it even entail? Either way - Sanchez is clearly here to stay then.
-
Essugo to go on loan? So we are going to be looking to sign another MF player in January? Can’t rely on just Caicedo, Santos & Enzo every week. Lavia’s fitness & injury record also doesn’t inspire confidence.
-
Exactly. How many top centre backs are you going to get for £30-40m yet alone a home grown, ex academy player who is already living in & around London? Its beggars belief that they have quite clearly no intentions of going for it. Yet some 16 year old CB from Ecudaor, Cyprus or Afghanistan or wherever who may be good in 3-4 years will be their first priority. Could have done it in the fucking summer too when the previous manager was screaming put for a CB in the press after Wesley’s injury….. they have no interest in competing with the big boys. Like zilch. Has Lavia really played enough football here in the 3 seasons to be considered part of any potential spine? Like in those minutes has he really looked like someone who can contribute, can be relied upon to that level? The club were more than willing to offload him to United in the summer in a deal for Garnacho as well. He hasn’t done enough & probably won’t due to his injuries - not his fault but when you sign an injured player & he gets injured again constantly, your always up against it. Do think he will (rightfully, probably) be on the chopping block in the summer too. As mentioned, you need depth. Look at any successful side we had here in the past. Fofana (again has he really done enough to be considered part of a spine) & Colwill are out long term… we have got Tosin & Trev in most weeks. Tosin couldn’t spell defend yet alone try & do it. That potential spine you put, never mind Lavia, 3 of those 6 are severely injury prone?
-
Figures were not right yet spunked £100m on Gittens & Garnacho…. Aye right…. The briefs are hilarious. They think they can pull the wall over our eyes. Its the same with that dipshit journalists who got the Q&A with the leadership group, gullible enough to write an article putting the same sort of nonsense in it then release a corresponding one a few days later saying their skeptical….. yeaaaaah 😂
-
Hypothetically though, nobody would be digging him out. Or any of the others for playing poorly. You don’t see teams get this many stupid red & yellows throughout a season. Maresca passed the buck regarding discipline earlier in the season (& last as well or was it just this one?) & Poch had also mentioned it with certain players too. Players clearly not that arsed about it either. The 2/3 bookings after that red were bullshit and all avoidable. I get certain players may pick up cards for fouls like Cucureulla or Caicedo due to the nature of their game but for guys to get bookings for dissent every other week is poor.
-
Aye thats a huge part but their manager & players have got a lot of experience too. We could’ve played at the Bridge & the result would’ve been the same, they’d have just taken the sting out of first 10-15 minutes, silenced the crowd then kicked on and done the exact same. Not that it would’ve been difficult for them, they looked far more comfortable than we did. I mean everyone was raving about Tosin, Fernandez & Reece’s influence with the group after the Maresca scenario & the players getting up for the game v Man City but fuck sake, you shouldn’t need to play a big team to get up for a game of football. That is the ultimate small club mentality. Get up for every game. Regardless of opposition. We should know what to expect, we are struggling, obviously to have half a chance for any team, you need to do the basics very well. Don’t have to play well every week but get up for it, bit of know how to get through tough moments and then show some quality. A struggle to do this is clear as day signs that we have poor standards, lack of experience & leadership throughout this squad. Do you really think the likes of Reece, Enzo, Tosin are going in & digging out Cole Palmer for instance after his performance last night? Or someone is digging out Enzo Fernandez? Or Cucurella? Are they fuck. They are all soft & too nice. Oh it’ll be fine we’ll get a chance next week. New head coach comes in he’ll solve all the issues. If we had 3 or 4 top, senior players in that group it would be a different proposition. Regardless of quality.
-
We absolutely did not have title aspirations what gives you that idea? BlueCo’s PR machine saying they want to win the CL after winning the Conference League (surprised if they even knew it was the third tier of European competition)? A glorified pre-season tournament? 😂 There is no evidence anywhere that we had geared up for that either in the transfer market too. But yes we will be lucky to finish top 4. The league position at the beginning of December was a false position performance wise. This group is nowhere near ready to be regulars in the CL, mentally, technically & physically miles off it. No guts or gumption. Not one of these guys has anything about them to drag us up, the only one who could do something (Palmer) signed a new 9 year deal and has been near abysmal ever since but there are so many average players signed for big money that need to be replaced. Big job on Rosenoirs hands, which he is probably ill equipped for.
-
He will have to get used to it. There is definitely minimal/no tolerance for BlueCo now, how it has taken this long is beyond me as this has been a long time coming & the direction/strategy has been obvious to see from the first full year. I think if Rosenoir does well, it papers over the cracks but if he doesn’t do well, it will just get more & more uncomfortable for these charlatan owners. As it should.
-
After all that positives in the media about Fernandez & Tosin’s leadership, steadying the group etc, they both get booked for dissent for one of the most obvious red cards you’ll see all season. Couldnt write it 😂
-
Cucurella you fucking muppet. One long kick & an absolute calamity. Won’t be singing that daft wee chant tonight will you 😂 Just get off the pitch fuck sake
-
You’re the only one mentioning first team & fringe players specifically. Nobody else. Why bother signing lots and lots of players if they have no intention of being part of this plan BlueCo apparently have? Its a business model. Everyone can see it. These have no real ambition of competing at the very very top. As long as we get by and their making a healthy profit, BlueCo will be happy.
-
Maybe they weren’t bought to sell at first, but maybe they were? You cannot have a 50 man squad so it is natural they would have to sell some of these guys they bought, no? And given how frequently we have been buying players since BlueCo have come in, you cannot say that it makes sense to buy another 4 or 5 players every window but they always do. In the same positions. So obviously some are bought with Strasburg in mind or loaning out or flipping for profit? No? Naming like 3 of the 40 odd players we have signed under BlueCo means nothing (Cucurella one of the first buys when they weren’t going with the co sporting directors direction as they weren’t in place). There is clearly more than enough evidence that they have sold players, that they’ve signed maybe 6-12 months earlier. Whether its intentional or not, it has happened. Countless times.
-
Good luck doing that with guys like Neto, Gittens, Garnacho, Delap 😂 Also said his ‘game’ is similar to Maresca’s ….. we don’t want to hear that pal cmon
