Well there is one thing this group of players will be remembered for: being the worst/weakest group of players bought for this much money EVER in footballing history. Maybe not the history Boehly and Clearlake want but it will be what this group is remembered for. Fair to say Boehly & Clearlake out. Stewart & Winstanley out. Pochettino out. Then get rid of some of these absolute imposters. There is no passion or quality from top to bottom in the whole club. Actually embarrassing. Also Madueke, Mudryk… are these guys even human? Yet alone footballers? Talk about braindead. Do they even look up and at whats going on around them on the pitch? Ok so Mudryk got a goal but I am actually surprised given how often he seemed to run the ball out of play/into traffic as if he is a blind man. Fans will start boycotting games soon if things don’t improve and I don’t blame them either.
-
Sack the medical staff. Definitely something wrong here.
-
Poch will unfortunately be the one who gets most of the blame, as hes the manager, but these owners have killed the club. Killed it. Completely.

Guirassy is the most established out of them you listed but I think its still unlikely he is going to be that effective at a bigger team or even a regular starter. I think if he was good enough, for his rumoured release clause £15m, some bigger teams would of made a move for him in January.. Openda is one I forgot, consistent goal record everywhere he has been apart from Belgium when he first turned pro. Leipzig will be rubbing their hands together when it comes the time to sell but I doubt it’ll be going after 1 season. The prices being bandied about for potential top CFs is borderline ridiculous. I mean Gyokeres is valued at near £90m and he played for Coventry over a year ago. No doubt, we will be the stupid cunts who pay it and think we got a good deal out of it. Like with Mudryk, Caicedo, Fofana, Cucurella and even Fernandez. Still the list doesn’t seem much better or different from last summer at all. There was Kane, Osimhen followed by the likes of Holjund, Goncalo Ramos, Kolo Muani. Barely any standout top top CFs. Same again this summer, barring Osimhen, maybe Toney who is the bracket below then the could be top top CFs in 2 or 3 years
-
Is there really? Its pretty much the same as it always has been the last few seasons. Particularly compared to last summer where it seemed to be clubs chasing a lot of young/unproven players who could become top strikers as opposed to actual top strikers. Barring Kane to Bayern and Benzema to Saudi, did anyone else actually sign a top quality number 9? I don’t think so. Likes of Holjund and Ramos are players who could be good CFs but nowhere near top quality yet. And cost a shit tonne of money. Barring Oshimen and then Toney this summer, I don’t really see any top/good options being realistically available (Mbappe - lets assume he is 100% a Madrid player). Then we have the likes of Gimenez at Feyenoord, Gyokeres at Sporting, Ferguson at Brighton & Sesko at Leipzig - are all very much in the same mould as Hojlund and Ramos - they could be very good strikers but they aren’t yet. And will cost premium prices because there isn’t enough realistically attainable top centre forwards. My favourite 2 that has been mentioned for seasons is Latauro Martinez and Dusan Vlahovic, both players who haven’t wanted to leave Inter and Juventus for seasons. Yet people still think we can sign them 😂
-
Yeah we a team that lacks consistency in terms of performance and some actual proven quality yet folk want to keep signing young players who are just as likely to dip and need time to develop as opposed to looking for ready made quality. Its a weird one.
-
Yeah was “more realistic” adds on compared to what Arsenal offered so known Boehly and Clearlake, probably £13m add on for making his debut and £13m add on for scoring a goal 😂
-
Seen that yes. But everyone, were inferring they would sack him and appoint an interim manager to the end of the season. I am not surprised one bit that they didn’t go that way. Even more so given the likes of Flick and Ole being banded about as emergency options. Wouldn’t gain anything that way - same way we gained nothing swapping Tuchel for Potter early on & then after sacking Potter for Lampard in with like 8 or 9 games to go 😂 Alonso is first choice but he is also Liverpool’s first choice so it will be interesting to see what he does, and what Bayern/Liverpool do if Alonso rejects them. Imagine letting Klopp leave/getting rid of Tuchel and then not getting Alonso…
-
So were Christopher Vivell, Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart, Graham Potter, Joe Shields, Kyle Macauley & Matt Hallam…. all figures identified by Clearlake. And as usual, a massive deal was made regarding most of their appointments as they were “very good” in their chosen fields. Most have had mixed/poor results so far… or are no longer here so expectations should be low. Definitely. The previous body of work in the last 18 months in terms of managers, recruitment and departures backs that. Just because Man United wanted him it means nothing really. Its still fair to say that Sir Jim Radcliffe hasn’t had a great deal of success owning Nice and restructuring United is a much bigger much more colossal task. I just hope there isn’t a perception that just because they have made shrewd moves in getting Berrada and Ashworth (will get done eventually) from City & Newcastle onboard there, that everyone he and INEOS want/wanted to get are going to be of that calibre. I mean again, as mentioned time and time again over the last year, who is picking our players here? Is this guy gonna be further collaborating with the guys we have here for Strasbourg too seeing as his role is more towards the mutli club model part? How many folk are actually involved with recruiting at the club now we seem to have new recruitment guys coming in every 3 months. Its a clusterfuck. You’ve got all these guys and then a head coach/manager who was shouting out for experienced players in the summer, the complete opposite of the profile of players we predominantly went for.
-
Hopefully this is true as would mean the end for Mudryk. Not a top level player in there at all. Just raw athleticism and nothing else. How it has taken almost 1.5 seasons for anyone to see it is beyond me. Best part of £90 million package and a 8.5 year deal, should be an inquest and certainly questions directed at Lawrence & Winstanley to start with.
-
£111m for someone who will be here for 7 years. Incredibly risky. If he flops/isn’t the player we think he is, then we are left with another longer than typically usual contract. Why are we not offering these guys 4 or 5 year deals then not renegotiating further down the line like every other club does? I mean has Boehly learned anything? Has the two idiots running the footballing side of things Lawrence Stewart & Paul Winstanley not analysed the moves and strategy we’re employing? We have guys like Caicedo, Enzo, Mudryk, Madueke, Badiashile & Fofana who are on these long deals and haven’t done enough irrespective of price tags - which ok still time for them to come good and 1 of 2 will for sure, yes - but we may most likely struggle to shift the guys who don’t cut it for a decent price due to this either. Arsenal & Man Utd aren’t going to buy all our offcasts/expensive players nobody else wants forever particularly when you see some of them. Gusto and Palmer have been the only one who’ve actually been consistent and looked good on a regular basis out of all the lads on these long deals. Imagine giving someone a 7 year deal and being stuck with them being pretty poor for 3-4 seasons of it because nobody wants to pay more than £30 or 40m for a Mudryk or a Fofana or a Madueke or whoever - thats the reality with some of these 😂 I just get the feeling that the owners and footballing directors aren’t learning anything. Personally the footballing directors need to go and be replaced with a competent person/persons if their hiring duos.
-
A lot of peoples numbers look average when you take away penalties though, Toneys might do yes but even Cole Palmer who is our leading scorer loses like what 4 or 5 goals if we do that. Penalties and set plays are part and parcel of the game. Especially with VAR.
-
Wouldn’t be so sure. If they were to put things in place to secure Alonso yes maybe but if they can’t get him, then what? They are being linked with Zidane and OGS to replace Tuchel if they don’t get Xabi Alonso 😂 Some other names being touted about include Mourinho, Klopp and Hansi Flick too but I doubt any of those will be their top choices for different reasons (well Klopp would be but think the Dortmund connection would mean he would say no even after a year out).
-
Still never a £72m signing so definitely not as if we missed out on a bargain by any stretch of the imagination. Jackson cost £35m and whilst has been so frustratingly inconsistent has also got 7 PL goals and could have had a lot lot more. Now if Jackson cost £72m and Hojlund £35m then I could see why people would be bothered. All the talk of Braithwaite from a few pages ago, yes he is an impressive young CB but don’t think we need another young CB. I mean particularly when we have Colwill and Badiashile, both young left footed players still. Silva will be gone in the summer and I would think Wesley Fofana will be in a difficult position if he isn’t fit and healthy enough. Although he was never worth the money either way and has never particularly looked great playing in a flat back 4 either as he used to play in a back 3 with Leicester.
-
Disasi having an absolute beast. Best performance in a Chelsea shirt by a mile, same with Jackson barring the sitter.
-
Ben Jacobs is basically still also saying that we still need to sell to avoid being hammered by PSR though. So he is effectively contradicting himself claiming we can spend £200m without sales because if we can, then why do we have to worry about PSR? It makes almost 0 sense. The likes of him and Si Phillips clearly have no idea but theres nothing new there.
-
It isn’t results orientated at all though. Nothing to do with that at all Its the fact that they have been taken over and geared up towards being a club that will only benefit another club, us. Their fanbase didn’t think that Boehly & co taking over was in the best interests of their club. Their January transfer windows provided outrage. The sale of their most experienced player followed by the loan signing of Santos who didn’t break into a poor Nottingham Forest team, where the belief is that he will play most weeks irrespective of how good he is ot isn’t because he has come from us.
-
How can we spend £200m if we apparently need to raise £100m before the end of June or July to comply with the profit & sustainability rules? What a clusterfuck
-
So lucky. Been awful all game, lucky enough Conor doing the business. Travesty if we sell him at all.
-
If people think this is bad just wait for City to pump us 5-0 on Saturday.
-
The supposed saviour for our MF yet injured 90% of the games of his Chelsea career so far. Wtf is going on
-
Guessing he hasn’t learned anything after hiring Graham Potter after a one off season then.
-
Term world class thrown about far too often. Particularly considering it is like the 3rd good game of the season for Enzo. He really needs to do it every week in that position. Thats the challenge. Has the skillset to grab a hold of the game by the scruff of the neck. But hasn’t done it enough this season.
-
Yes all good tonight great freekick but needs to build on this and kick on in a big big way. Been anonymous way too many times this season, like many, but particularly him and Moises. Step it up lads. The celebration for me is one of them things its like what does it mean? does it mean anything? Fuck knows. Only ever seen Messi celebrate like that in an El Classico so don’t know.

You keep banging on about Maatsen as if hes some sort of top LB. Hes not. We have bigger problems than Chilwell/Cucurella at LB. Much bigger.
