I don’t think Tuchel will come back in all honesty. Plus I think Boehly & co are too proud to admit they made a mistake in the first place. So much for stability though, 4th head coach (5th if we include Lampard) in 2.5 seasons. They clearly don’t have a clue what they are doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if Poch was extremely keen to leave though.

Yep if we sell Connor or Trevor this summer this ownership group are at it. Trevor has impressed since coming back in regularly and well Connor’s season speaks for itself- barring Cole been our most consistent player and best midfielder. Just beat Bournemouth now. Our finishing position will paper over the cracks over what has been a really poor season for us. The fact most sides competing for Europa and Conference spots outside the top 4 have fell off/been poor has helped us a lot.

He wouldn’t be starting anyway, for sure. Walker is going to be the undisputed first choice for Southgate. And probably rightfully so as he has been incredibly solid and consistently fit for City again.

Don’t think its down to a health kick. More like 2 years taking cocaine and other drugs on a daily basis. Would certainly explain a lot of goings on at the club for sure 😂

I think getting over £60-65m mark for both Maatsen and Broja will be unlikely. Dortmund will probably try and low ball us for Maatsen. Also if the player is desperate to go back therr, the opportunity to get a deal in place for less than this release clause may be a real possibility. Going from recent quotes from his agent, they already know that the club want to cash in on him. No doubt, other clubs will know this and try exploit this situation as opposed to paying the apparent £30-35m release clause put in the contract when they renewed it. Maybe not but it is a hunch I have. Contract expires in 2026 too so doesn’t leave us in a brilliant position compared to Broja, who has a deal to 2028 if I remember rightly for trying to get a bigger fee. I think if we get £50-55m for both thats probably a fair representation of their actual value. Ballpark £30m for Broja given how his last 12 months have gone and then around £20m for Maatsen. Really can’t see us getting much more for either. Both haven’t particularly excelled on their loans to the point where you would think there will be a bidding war or anything.

Depends though. Radcliffe isn’t actually hugely successful in football with his team in France. Man United haven’t been particularly successful the past 11 years and I think if the appointments INEOS have made/makes and any manager were on the right page, it wouldn’t be as difficult as some may imagine, even if it were Tuchel, Conte or a Mourinho. I think with it being a fresh impetus at Man United so to speak - with the ethos seeming to be Jim Radcliffe & INEOS know they need to get back to where they were, with a hugely competent operator with the NUFC sporting director also going to be in place, most managers would see that as as interesting job. As long as they are on the same page with expectations. I think Tuchel’s spells at Dortmund and PSG have been much more about falling out with people than his spell at Bayern. Bayern are maybe more similar to us in the fact over the past 2/3 years they’ve been a mess on and off the pitch and need a regeneration. Whilst here, I think Boehly put too much responsibility on Tuchel with involvement with the transfer side of things like the frequency of dealings/meetings with players/agents as opposed to letting him just come in at a later stage. That certainly had a huge effect on that relationship deteriorating. But I think they were still naive in pulling the plug and believe that they would undo the decision if they had the chance again.

Taking Sane off for Kim was absolutely incredible. The worst sub of the lot. An attacker who was a huge outlet foe them for a defender, who struggled in the previous leg, looking like they wanted to hand Madrid the initiative. Granted Neuer makes that mistake for first goal and it turns the game on its head but the Kim for Sane sub is mindblowing. I can get taking Muisala off as he was down with cramp and wasn’t particularly great throughout. Even then, in other circumstances, not like Muller isn’t a good, experienced player so it could make sense either. Kane off was also on the odd side. There will be massive inquiries into the disallowed goal by Bayern also. I mean what is the linesman doing flagging? Without that mistake and first sub, Bayern would 100% be in the CL final. Without a doubt.

The whole 30 shots and hitting the woodwork 6 times over 2 legs will make it look a bit more like Dortmund got lucky but PSG for all the shots, all their individual quality and for Luis Enrique being an apparent top top coach - how many speculative shots do they have from outside the box? Like they must of had at least 15 efforts from outside the box tonight alone.
-
Yeah it is crazy. Paris will be kicking themselves as they could definitely give both Madrid and Bayern big big problems in a one off game. How they haven’t scored is mental last 10 minutes but at same time I think Vitinha has hit the bar 3 times alone from about 25 yards out but PSG’s gamesmanship and players rolling around like pussies for absolutely nothing is laughable. Get what they deserve. Mats Hummels one of the best individual defensive performances I can remember in a long time. 35 years old and absolutely shackled Mbappe. Interesting what this means for Luis Enrique also.
-
Enrique and PSG bottling what should of been a guaranteed shoe in tie to get to the CL final. Yeah they’ve hit the post 4 times over 2 legs but they should be steamrolling Dortmund with that side.
-
Yeah forgot him as well. Just looking at stockpiling again, same thing the Abramovich regime was heavily criticised for. Multi club model isn’t looking like something that will happen/survive longterm given UEFA wanting to come down hard on it. So seems pointless. Ramsdale probably is on paper but I get the feeling he is like Kepa. His confidence took a huge knock in the run in last season when Arsenal ultimately blew the title. Now he doesn’t get a look ahead of Raya who isn’t particularly much better either in terms of shotstopping.
-
Only thing with that is also if he isn’t ready then again, it’s back to square 1. Petrovic and Sanchez aren’t anywhere near good enough either. Sanchez maybe be a reasonable number 2 given his HG status but he is the best of the 2 of them and that is a problem in its own right. Unless Kepa is coming back but again, not the best.
-
Are Cole, Noni and Angelo not young left footed right wingers though? I get Cole has played centrally also but surely a left winger is more a priority given Mudryk’s genuine lack of ability and Sterling struggling here. Fuck knows though, this recruitment team and strategy has been very erratic. Probably buy 2 more GKs in the summer also. Which again is probably needed given how average the ones we signed were. And be another summer with no deal for a proper first choice CF or CB I bet.

Cucu must of read all of the comments about how Maatsen should be playing in his place 😂 Looked very confident. He has always got that aggressiveness and willingness to get really close to his man tonight. Caicedo looks more assured without Enzo next to him. Don’t know why but just does. Poch talking about both phases of the game with Sky in his post match, with the ball and without the ball and also going on about competitiveness. The competitiveness without the ball side has been a huge issue this season - I am glad he is talking about it.
-
Chilwell has struggled for fitness. But so has Reece James on the otherside also. Two of our best players missing on a regular basis. Maybe Tammy would be useful as a number 2. But thats it. Which is why he left here because he didn’t want to be a number 2. Now he’d maybe play every week but not the level of player you want as a number 1 if your looking to be ultra competitive. But people banging on about Maatsen as if he’s much better than Ben and Cucu are dreaming. Even tonight Cucurella tonight showed he can play very well at a high level. I mean needs to do it consistently though absolutely. Price tag is what it is. Sure and when him and Reece were absolutely flying for us under Tuchel you probably said he was the best left back on the planet….. Maybe. I do think if he was as good as people make out though Poch would have used him much much more than he did. And in his actual position. Particularly given the fact Ben’s struggled with injury/form all season and Cucurella has been inconsistent since arriving.
-
Because we were going to sell him for FFP due to fact he would be pure profit.
-
Has been very bad all season though. Hopefully improves next season. Can say that about 4/5ths of the squad though.
-
This is the sort of game we need every week. Against a team who will dominate the ball and we can just try to pick them off on transition.
-
Sure Maatsen who has never actually played properly in the PL shits on Chilwell who over the past 5 seasons has probably been one of the best fullbacks in the PL. He hasn’t got a future here and in 2 or 3 seasons I don’t expect anyone to give a shit when he hits Tammy Abraham levels of decent career but not elite level. Because thats where he will be. Mudryk is awful most players in his position could be named are better than him. Only signed him because Arsenal wanted him - nothing will change my mind on that. Given how Poch has played virtually everyone, including players who have struggled immensely for consistency and performances, the likes of him, Washington and a few others haven’t. I really think that speaks volumes about how good he actually is, or isn’t. Don’t get me wrong, a CL run with Dortmund means more £ for us and that is ultimately why we will be selling him. He has basically no chance of being involved here given he couldn’t make any real inroads in the first half of the season with Poch and we desperately need to raise funds.
-
Suppose people will be saying we should recall him for first 11 and sign Sancho in the summer if Dortmund score finishes this way 🙄
-
Probably a good thing. Not having to listen to their great ideas. Also pretty sure it was confirmed Amorin was in London for WHU talks? If its true he wants £10m a year salary (turned Liverpool off him), he won’t be coming here anyway.

Opinion: Jack Grealish to Chelsea would be a great move
OneMoSalah replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
Grealish? Really? Another winger who rarely shows up and lacks consistency. Simon Phillips must be on crack -
City still have the experience/knowhow and will have the bit between their teeth now. Arsenal have never ever done it when the pressures on and it really matters hence why they bottled it last season. Get the feeling it will be too little too late this season, the Villa result was huge. Also the draw with City really they probably had to win that to give them the upperhand.
-
City wont drop points though. Arsenal have thrown it away 2 years in a row really. And this is arguably the best team they’ve had since the Invincibles yet they have won nothing major. Rice been an unbelievable signing though, can’t believe people thought Caicedo and Enzo were better value for £100m plus, he shits all over them so much.
-
Spurs hard done with at 1-0 as performance was good at probably should of has a goal for 1-1 but Arsenal showing how ruthless they are. They have been brilliant at set plays all season.
