  1. No longer want players over the age of 24? Or expensive? Wow. Only took them £1bn with at least £200-300m on players they probably didn’t need to sign. Signing players under the age of 24 is basically what they’ve done from day 1. They will never learn.
  2. Yeah bet Arsenal are laughing at us now with Mudryk though. Liverpool won’t have been too disappointed given how Mac Allister and Endo did last season either in comparison to Caicedo and Lavia too. Arsenal are in a much better position to compete for titles than we are - I think thats the point folk are trying to make, despite the cup final this season. Still got to win them right enough but would say a settled side and project like Arsenals is more appealing than ours at present but again with all the upheaval and changes that have been made again in such a short space, what do people expect it to look like? Either way, not entirely sold on the idea of Sesko yet. We already have Jackson who is young and erratic in front of goal, for me it seems naive to go into the season with two young CFs. The options are limited for more proven and reliable 24-28 year old CFs though.
  3. Signing Olise without giving Hutchinson a go in pre-season and having already agreed a deal for the Brazilian kid from Palmeiras would be typical us though. Not to mention that we spent money on Angelo also last summer who was apparently another generational level talent. It is not a priority position unless there is serious movement meaning that we sell/loan 2 of Cole, Angelo, the other Brazilian kid or Hutchinson. Would be unnecessary money wasted again by Clearlake on positions we don’t need to prioritise immediately which is becoming a staple. GK, top CB, a LW and maybe a LB (Chilwell’s fitness more an issue than Cucurella’s ability as it is) should be top priorities this window. Yes Palmer maybe plays more centrally, but it is a maybe for now. And if that happens, then surely the club will want us to try utilise 2 out of the other 3 left footed right wingers we have already on the books if they are part of the clubs vision? And even then, what happens with Nkunku if Cole plays centrally as a false 9, 10 or an advanced 8? If we keep buying attacking players who either don’t have a long term future at the club or are the next big thing every year we will end up like the previous January when Potter had about 33 players to try juggle
  4. Tosin and Max Kilman. Lets hope not. Diomande has potential but again we need to actually sign some players who are proven and ready to play at a high level consistently from their first game. James McAtee also been heavily linked - Maresca would of wanted him at Leicester if he stayed there so apparently he’s prioritising a move for him. 21 years old. Spent season on loan at Sheff Utd. 3 goals 3 assists…. Underwhelming
  5. We will see how much of a backbone he has when it comes to recruitment and even his team selection. Thats going to be more key for him than letting players go/not go to the Olympics. If we keep seeing the likes of Jackson, Disasi & Mudryk starting every week then it‘S clear he is a yes man and will have very little power upstairs. Not saying the lads upstairs will be saying you must play X Y or Z but there is also no doubt that we should be replacing all 3 of them from the starting 11 and perhaps the the squad.
  6. Want to spend more efficiently? I hope this is a joke. Why not do that from day 1? Absolute helmets. They literally are just winging it. I mean how has it has taken them the best part of spending £1bn to realise they should look to spend more efficiently? And even more so, surely having gone from 3rd place to 12th place to 6th place during the 2 and a bit seasons of their ownership they could have seen that throwing money at something doesn’t always work? No? Was their whole mantra when they came in not that they felt Roman had spent too much money in a unsustainable way on players, wages & agent fees also? Honestly cannot wait for these to pack up and fuck off 😂
  7. Sure he can play both sides. With Cucurella likely going to be used in an inverted role, having a left footed left winger outside to keep the width is a good option also. Fair enough I think its probably a dead cert he will be sold and likely have a decent season whilst we get another season of Mudryk playing horrendously.
  8. True also. I mean maybe there is more to it. Not saying he is ready for us but he can’t be any worse than Mudryk has been, slightly different positions but surely the manager could give him a run out in pre season and see what he’s got. The McKenna links were odd too. It’s almost as if the co-sporting directors are doing everything on impulse/making it up as they go along. Club wanted Poch, was the number 1 target, a year later he’s out. Then it was basically every name from Thomas Tuchel to Kieran McKenna. Then it was Enzo Maresca. It was very reminiscent of when Todd was giving it billy big bollocks and basically trying to sign every player under the sun when he was acting sporting director. Scattergun approach.
  9. Surely to fuck he can’t be any worse than Mudryk? Should be one of the first players to be offloaded this summer. Hutchison, as well as Trevor and potentially Conor will be victims of Clownlake’s daft sell for pure profit approach whilst average players like Mudryk, Disasi, Sanchez, Petrovic etc will continue. And the managerial appointment as well could certainly be another risky move. Then they will continue to wonder why we aren’t making real progress/successful.
  10. Shouldn’t be replacing Chalobah with someone of the same level though in all honesty. Should be upgrading. Particularly with Thiago having left as well. I really hope we are going for another CB and a top one or we will be stuck with an average backline. Likes of Disasi & Chalobah/Tosin aren’t the CBs you build a defence chasing a CL spot around. Plus we have Levi and Badiashile as well, both who are younger and struggled last season so the need for a top top CB has never been more appropriate. Too many 3rd/4th choice CBs.
  11. Interesting move. Wonder how long before the fans riot and want his head 😂
  12. He is maybe better on the ball? But thats maybe. We need a top CB to lead our backline, not an average one. He isn’t an improvement on anyone we already have but I suppose if they can sell Chalobah for pure profit and replace him for free with someone they will see it as a win. If I am honest, if a club like Brighton/West Ham/Bournemouth etc signed him on a free I’d go ok thats a sensible signing. For us, its so mediocre. But thats obviously the remit for us now. Average and some sort of ties to Man City.
  13. Maybe they could. But again Strasbourg’s fanbase have made it clear they have no desire to be in any multi club model & want BlueCo out. Plus I don’t think we should just sign players for the sake of it either, multi club model or not. If these players are going to play at any club with the intention of coming here, yes, go for it but when Reece and Malo are 24 and 21, both top players who will likely never need replacing in the next 5-7 years, why bother signing him? Unless there is doubts around one of them? I don’t get the whole signing players for the sake of it mentality, just so other clubs don’t get them etc - look at Mudryk for example he was 100% in that category for me. I’d be surprised if we continue to pursue the multi club model in all honesty after the backlash from Strasbourg’s fanbase.
  14. So does every other player we’ve signed apparently. Point is, Reece is 24 and Gusto is 21. Makes 0 sense. Doesn’t make sense long or short term. Also Tosin Adarabioyo? Seriously? Fucking hell. Signing another 3/4th choice CB. Wouldn’t get a game ahead of Disasi or Chalobah.
  15. Probably get promoted with Burnley and get the job here after Maresca is sacked.
  16. What the fuck are we going after another right back for? 🤣 When will the club do anything smart under this ownership though? Also we should go after a different profile of striker. No point having two similar CFs. Need variety in the squad but someone who has proven they can score goals is a must.
  17. If City sell Ederson to Saudi, he will go there. Although he is s good GK he isn’t an upgrade on Ederson if City get him.
  18. Irrespective of if it gets the credit it deserves or not, winning it with the best squad in the league by a country mile doesn’t warrant getting the Chelsea job. We had the same thing being linked with Jokanovic before (can’t remember the year but was another manager linked with us who’s achievements didn’t warrant the job). Although he was also an ex player here but don’t think that made a difference. Also on another point, if having worked with Pep is a massive selling point for a managers job at a top club then I don’t know. There has to be so much more to it than that. And based on how he got on at Parma and then Leicester (which I think isn’t remotely impressive given the players they’d retained), I don’t think there is a lot of other huge selling points outside of Pep link & playing style. For me Arteta is definitely a one off and even then it took him 2.5 years to properly get going.
  19. Then its fair to assume Thiago Motta really won’t be that great a coach if he isn’t able to get Chiesa in his system. Considering the levels of players he worked with at Bologna and the sheer ability Chiesa has when fit, it would be absolutely farcical if he cannot get him in 😂 Sounds like a bullshit quote.
  20. 5 year deal 🤣 be a nice payout when he gets sacked within 12-18 months. Absolute insanity.
  21. He doesn’t look like the sort who will. But yes he could do so.
  22. Yeah I would think so. Would be surprised if he’s going to become a top top player either. Maybe he proves me wrong but I am not sure.
  23. Young midfielder does things any midfielder should do and gets an OTT post on twitter about it. I wonder if he will remain in France for another season with Angelo. Probably be a wise move in all fairness if he’s getting games.
  24. Maresca is a joke of an appointment if I am honest. So what if he was Pep’s number 2 for 1 season? Walked into a PL quality side in the championship and lost a lot of games. Got sacked in Italy after 14 games. He will be sacked by Christmas/next summer 100% no way he is getting us a CL spot/competing. Which is the same criteria that they used to justify replacing Poch.
  25. Apparently Mourinho is this mystery manager. Lots of movement on betting sites with him shooting up the list.
