Did you not say we had world class recruitment maybe 8-10 weeks ago, changed your tune 😂
-
Eghbali is going nowhere anytime soon and arguably he’s the biggest issue now. It appears he is calling the shots, hired the sporting directors etc. Boehly won’t be chairman from next year if I remember correctly, could possibly be bought out by Eghbali/Clearlake.
-
They won’t change shit because of the fans though. Lets be real. Look at how well thats worked out for the Strasbourg fans, they’ve done a lot more protesting and shown discontent over a much longer, prolonged period than we have and nothing has changed there. At all. BlueCo don’t care. Attendances probably will have to start dropping by a huge number constantly for a prolonged period to make any sort of difference to these. But it won’t be noticed due to the change in atmosphere, it will be noticed due to loss of match day money. Even then, Boehly & Eghbali will just keep flogging tickets to tourists at hugely inflated prices as they have been. Fans not going to games & renewing season tickets may sound extreme but it is the only way to show these IMO. Can boo/whistle/whatever but they are ruthless billionaires who probably don’t care what people think of them as it is.
-
True but too many chancers in that squad too. Wholesale changes needed, wont happen elsewhere though, just the playing squad.
-
Can’t wait for this season to finish and half of these to leave.
-
Delap carded as welll? Theres a fucking surprise more bookings than goals
-
Embarrassing this lot. Gutless. Be may as well calling the project Hail Mary we are doomed with this group of players, staff, sporting directors & owners.
-
Doesn’t matter how it was be it 60m or 89m. Regardless of the price, he is shite. And hes likely to end up spending 5-6 years of his 11 year deal not playing. BlueCo should stick that on their spreadsheet.
-
Too old for BlueCo.
-
He will still be off in the summer. And good riddance.
-
They already did that after sacking Potter, despite it being at the point in the season where they should’ve let him finish the campaign (they should’ve sacked him well before April). Frank being appointed then was a PR stunt appointment. The scrutiny on them now is a lot more than it was then, the owners and sporting directors are clinging on in all reality given the majority of the fanbase now coming to the glaringly obvious realisation they are muppets. I mean I don’t know why it took so long really, seen this coming a long long time ago when they sacked Tuchel. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they try and go down that sentimental route one more time thinking it may give them some reprieve. The best way to describe them is that they are abhorrently arrogant. What they say and what they do are two different things. Don’t be fooled into thinking they won’t continue doing what they have already been doing for the last 3.5 years. Why wait so long to fix something thats already glaringly broken? They cannot be so oblivious to the fact that scraping into the CL and winning a Conference League & a glorified reformatted pre-season tournament version of the CWC isn’t exactly brilliant achievements for a squad that cost over £2 bn? For a squad they even went on record a d stated themselves they believed was a CL quality squad. If they were going to change their approach, the likes of Frank, Silva, McKenna and perhaps even Iraola wouldn’t be prominent names on the apparent managerial shortlist 😴
-
Simeone would be a dream appointment. His personality is precisely what this group needs - it would make or break some of these. He defo would fall out with too many of the 6, 7 or 8 year contract princesses and the sporting directors though.
-
The repetitive narrative in the media about us reappointing Frank is a joke surely? I mean he has already shown in 2 spells here he isn’t really cut out for managing a big club in the PL. He was barely cut out for Everton. Plus he doesn’t have the personality or authority to challenge the owners or sporting directors. He’s not got enough merit as a manager in the bank to do so, probably why they have him on the list. Would be a daft appointment given the sheer amount of work needed to change things at the club. He’s done well getting Coventry up but the links are ridiculous, be it pure speculation or that he is actually on the shortlist again. Suppose they’ll probably announce him on a 10 year deal though.
-
If anyone is stupid enough to offer £100m for Enzo Fernandez and we don’t accept it, I will be concerned. I don’t think we will regret it at all. He’s basically playing as a number 10 for 3 seasons and yes whilst his goals and assists have been meaningful contributions the last 18 months, for this so called all round top midfielder we were supposed to be getting, definitely not shown that enough and when he has played deeper, games just pass him by far too much. I get his performance today was good but he doesn’t do this often enough to warrant this status he seems to get. He was arguably a huge part of one of the worst midfield performances I have ever seen against Brighton in contrast as well as multiple poor performances throughout the season where teams just run over him. The interim coach can blow smoke up his arse to the end of time but he has shown time and time again over the course of the last few seasons he doesn’t really have it in him to perform at the highest level. He isn’t ever going to be a world class player. In an oversaturated transfer market to get close to what we paid for him is a massive win. He isn’t going to go to Man City or Real Madrid and become a world class player all of a sudden, not a chance.
-
Honestly an older head like Jose, Conte, even Tuchel is probably better suited than every manager we are linked with at present. Especially for this squad. Never mind tactics, its the personality we need to get right more so than anything else. They would tear strips off of these and boy do they need it. The fact Madrid are considering Jose isn’t a surprise, given the personalities in that dressing room and how their seasons finishing. Needs to bring a few of them back down to earth, ie Bellingham, Vinicius Jnr, Mbappe.
-
This group winning an FA cup would be nothing short of a miracle. But it would also further reinforce the delusion at ownership, board and sporting directors level that the project is working. Beating Leeds should really have been a foregone conclusion though. The fact nobody was entirely convinced before the game screams that there are huge, huge issues. European football at least. But still, wholesale changes are needed/coming. Hopefully for the better.

Wont sign players with PL experience so instead scraping the barrel for managers with PL experience. Saying that he’d of been a better appointment than Potter & Rosenoir. And be better than some of the names linked but again, mediocre. True but I think the ambition & progress at Como is more realistic as well as achievable. Plus he will have plenty of options I would think. The point I was more making is the job here will not be as attractive or difficult to get, the calibre of managers we have appointed since BlueCo came in has fallen considerably from the level we were previously appointing. The frequency we are appointing them too, it will be alarming for any candidates being considered. Given how these are running the club, the trajectory, continued poor recruitment, potential financial situation etc, they will probably keep feeding head coaches to the wolves whilst the sporting directors will never be held accountable. They are one of the biggest problems at the club: they have completely bluffed their way into this se roles and the owners are blindsided/deluded/too stupid to see they are not cut out for it. Serious managers will not want to work with them/within this model.
-
Don’t know, seems more likely he stays at Como than comes here. He has some sense. Believe he turned down the Inter Milan job previously. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does another 12-24 months at Como before leaving. For a better job than here. They are pushing very hard for European football this season and were unlucky not to make the cup final. The progression has been huge since getting promoted. If they get European football why would he want to give that up to come to a team that could still finish in the bottom half of the table 😂 Plus in all likelihood, even if he did consider it, the managers job here will be available again at least twice over the next 18-24 months. Lets not get our hopes up that this shower of useless cunts will make the right appointment. They haven’t done anything to convince anyone otherwise. I don’t think the head coach role here will ever be something that will pass certain people by with these owners, whereas before with Roman, it definitely would’ve. We are going to keep hiring amateurs because it is run by amateurs. So inevitably they will keep having to look for new managers.
-
Oh cmon you think they are going to change it up now? Even with the fan outrage & protests? These are arrogant non footballing people who likely believe they are still doing the right thing. Even then, nobody who is elite is going to come here whilst we are run like this, with these sporting directors, stop kidding yourself on its not worth even trying to think they will. In fact nobody who is even mediocre is going to come here at this rate. It is most definitely going to be another novice with no reputation or leverage to work within their beloved structure. Potter, Maresca & Rosenoir weren’t top tier managers when we appointed them, they were guys who were lucky to even be in consideration for the position yet alone get it. And even then, Maresca was so discontent with the set up by the end of it. And he’d only been a first team manager for 2.5 seasons. If they really wanted to change they’d be announcing the co sporting directors & Joe Shields departures. Instead they will be fronting this “period of reflection” that was mentioned in the statement - yeah lets see. Be more of the same don’t get your hopes up. £125-150m spent on more u21 wingers when we need a GK & 2 x CBs desperately.
-
Tbf if anyone comes in and loses this dressing room, which is full of nobodies who think their big time because they won a fucking glorified pre-season cup & 3rd tier of European competition, they need to step away from football. This group is full of fucking clowns, they need someone to rip them to shreds to humble them. Unfortunately the man we did have who could’ve done that (Tuchel), they sacked 4 years ago. And if they want O’Neill it will happen. Look at Rosenoir. Happened within 48 hrs. Indeed but it wont happen. It should’ve happened already by now. 2 managers ago.
-
Open to selling Lavia & Santos 🤣 The two of them were meant to be the cornerstones of this team going by some folk on here. Yet BlueCo just happy to cash in 😂 Lavia has been an absolute disaster of a signing. Surprise surprise, clubs interested but wary of his injury record - as we should’ve been when we signed him injured. Stupid cunts. Essugo also likely going. On loan. Sarr back to Strasbourg also doing the rounds. What a shit show 😂
-
I still can’t believe its taken a huge % on here so long to catch on to how fucking idiotic this ownership have been since that first full season in charge. Like how nobody seen this huge fall off coming 2.5-3 years ago is beyond me. People initially thought because they were throwing hundreds of millions at u23 players, they were doing the right thing, thought they were being smart, folk were creaming themselves at the net spend, signing the likes of Lavia, Fofana, Fernandez etc who would be brilliant players for us after playing 34 games between them before signing but it all soon unraveled and now look at the fucking nick of it. Clueless. No front of shirt sponsor. About 85 managers in the past 4 years. The same glaring issues that were there all those years ago. Not a fucking ounce of sense in the ownership or sporting directors. Glad the people who bought that shite also have woken up.
-
Nobody at that level is coming here. Emery has too much control at Villa, he won’t get that here, which will shut down any slim chance if any at all. It will probably be a sticking point for him getting a lot of jobs. It’ll be Gary O’Neill or someone of a similar ilk who will be too green for the job, will be unable to turn it down & succumb to the fucking idiots running the show. Thats where we are now.
-
The club has no shortlist or no number 1 candidate apparently. Says it all. They have no fucking clue. They’ve well and truly burned their chances of hiring another elite coach after the Tuchel sacking or any other half reasonable manager after Poch. They have killed their own project.
-
Fantastic, the owners look even more retarded. Wheels are well and truly off.
