Werner and Pulisic very frustrating. Offering next to nothing. I know its one game but its same old same old, doing very little. Cannot see them starting a lot this season if they keep at this sort of performance, more so considering once Lukaku is done he will start every week and Mount probably be back in once he gets up to full fitness.
-
Hes at Southampton….. Werner looks like hes going to struggle against this season. Not good.
-
Ruidger knew what he was doing with that. Love the aggression but decision to go in that forceful to a ball he was always likely to win is Rudiger down to a tee. Just never thought about it.
-
🤣

Ziyech has been on fire this pre season. Mental people were wanting to sell him because Hakimi went to PSG and he “convinced him to not come here” jesus 🤣 Is Timo Werner convincing anybody? He isn’t convincing me at all. Thank god we are getting a proper goalscorer in though maybe prop his game up a bit.
-
True and he did have a worse record than Tuchel but he’s had a pre-season now and they’ve had an amazing transfer window in all reality. If he doesnt win Ligue 1 it would shock the whole footballing world. I think PSG will quite rightly be favourites for the CL this season also, even more so if the front 3 gels because it is going to be lethal. I mean look at Neymar-Suarez-Messi under Enrique, theres the potential for that level of output. And don’t tell me Luis Enrique is a better manager than Pochettino because he is not.. Atletico? Really? Whilst a good side I’d be shocked, even more so shocked if that PSG team don’t click together too and cannot get into the last 4 at least. If I were a betting man and they get out of the group’s convincingly I’d be thinking they will go very far. But do you really think he wont win the league now? I mean Lille beat PSG in the super cup but it wasn’t exactly the same team they will play most weeks. Poch is a good manager, doesn’t have the medals to be considered elite but a good manager nonetheless.
-
Wait what? So sack Poch, who has won only in France and give a top manager who usually wins, who wants a lot of finances a lot of finances? Do you want PSG to do well or?
-
When Messi is announced, I am sorry but Pochettino has to win the CL with PSG. I mean Messi, Neymar and Mbappe upfront, who has a better front 3 than that. We’ve already seen Messi and Neymar in the same team, Mbappe through the middle for them also who is a high level player, looks unbelievable on paper and cannot imagine there being any complications. Throw in Sergio Ramos, who is still very good, in at CB. Another good player in Wjinaldum for MF. Hakimi at RB. Donnarumma too for GK. On top of the top of quality they had as it was, he cannot afford any fuck ups in Ligue 1, the domestic cups or even going for the CL now you’d think he’s got to get to the final at least.
-
So we are to take he’s not a good signing off of a video that is 1 minute 52 seconds long when he played over 3000 minutes in Serie A, 474 minutes in the CL and 473 minutes in the EL last season? Aye ok then. People are looking too much into it though. Hes an elite goalscorer first and foremost.
-
And teams in Italy dont play like that against Inter Milan? Or other national teams against Belgium? No? I mean we created a lot of chances under Tuchel IIRC just didn’t convert them so I think he will be fine. Plus you’ve got him occupying central defenders which also means players like Havertz or Werner don’t have to.
-
Lot of talk they want Dzeko and Zapata to replace Lukaku, which seems odd why 2 players to replace 1 CF?
-
Thats him saying he wont fight to leave and is an Inter player but still not exactly him saying he is 100% staying is it?
-
Lets hope so. Because I think as far as front 2’s go, they would be a very good partnership. Then throw in Son too.
-
Martinez apparently going Spurs €60-70m to play with Kane. Kane and him would be some pairing.
-
Talks of trying to do a swap deal for de Ligt with one of Jorginho or Werner going in the deal.
-
I hope this is why but probably not.
-
I think Messi will end up somewhere obscure. Like back in Rosario or something like he stated he wanted to do although I hope he is tempted to go and prove himself at another big club in a big league.
-
When has a manager that has been sacked here ever been out of a job for too long though? Plus Parker and Jokanovic are easily just as average as Frank are. I mean Parker and Jokanovic taking Fulham up with the largest budget in the championship and instantly getting relegated is hardly a sign of great managerial ability, is it? I mean Jokanovic spent like 100m once Fulham got up too and they were horrendous. Even Bournemouth are probably on a bigger budget than 90% of the Championship so again, Parker, with a squad containing players who have already played in the PL regularly and considering they were in the play offs last season under Woodgate, if he doesn’t get promotion he will be under heavy scrutiny.
-
We are gonna be stuck with Abraham. If we weren’t sitting demanding 35/40m it would be much easier to shift him. Ironically Villa probably the only team that really needed another CF that could afford that reported asking price but even then they were reportedly more interested in a loan…. Bailey, Buendia, Ings on top of bidding for JWP. They are probably going to be better without Grealish you’d think looking at their squad.
-
Well not necessarily but its not just on Zouma either, is it? The club can clearly afford to pay the buyout clause (based on £85m + Alonso bid for Lukaku) but are trying to cheapen Sevilla by shoehorning someone in who doesn’t want to go by sounds of it or by trying to sell Zouma to West Ham to generate funds. Cant just spit the dummy out at Zouma can we? Just go and give them the €80m if hes that key a priority… would make more sense than haggling or throwing in Emerson/Alonso/Zouma/whoever isn’t necessarily a first choice player. Trying to throw in Zouma and lessen the price would indicate that perhaps TT and the club see how much of a priority Kounde is differently? I would hope a CB wouldn’t be the top priority. All for good value for money but again, if he’s that big a priority…. give them the €
-
Too big? In all seriousness, why would anyone leave a club you just won a CL at to play for West Ham? When your in your prime years essentially? If he wants to stay and fight for his place/be a second choice, fair enough. He has his limitations but he’s not the worst option to have and we aren’t exactly poor/short defensively either so him remaining hardly scuppers any urgent needs. I mean are we urgently needing a CB? Spending 80m on someone who for all we know might sit on the bench anyway considering how much Azpi improved at RCB and Rudiger at LCB when Tuchel came in would be a curious use of money. I mean is Kounde displacing any of those 2 and Thiago Silva immediately first game of the season in a back 3 which probably will be our shape again this season? I get he’s a talented boy but theres more pressing needs ie someone to take the burden of Ngolo in central midfield and a top striker upfront are more urgently needed than a CB as it stands. Also someone to challenge Reece at RWB.
-
Hopefully him and Timo get more PL goals this season, ie close to 10 or over 10. More confident in Kai than Timo though. Timo has to hit the ground running. No stupid misses.

The thing is, it doesn’t even have to be 30 in all comps to be a good deal for us. Diego Costa only ever scored 21, 16 and 22 goals in all comps in his 3 years here and we won the league twice. Then Drogba only ever scored 20+ twice in his whole Chelsea career, 06/07 and 09/10 seasons. If Lukaku gets 20+ in all comps we will win more games 100% and thats without considering what Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Mount may all contribute, which hopefully is closer to 10 goals and some of them to surpass 10 goals. Lukaku is certainly much better and more clinical than everyone we have in forward areas, considerably. Tammy’s good enough to score goals but he is clearly a second choice striker at a big club. Lukaku was bad for a period of that last season with United undoubtedly but if people actually watched him at Inter and realised he’s a much better all round player, instead of going off this assumption he’s a championship footballer they’d maybe understand hes not as bad as they think at that side of the game. Granted not Benzema or Lewandowski for instance but who is? People complained about Diego Costa’s hold up play “destroying moves” and were delighted when we replaced him with Morata too, look how that backfired in terms of losing Costa’s aggression and physicality. I mean is Haaland an excellent all round player, who is brilliant at linking up and playing with his back to goal CF? I mean do people watch every Dortmund game or Norway game? Was Sergo Aguero that player when were linked? I mean honestly, I would of liked to see us go for Lautaro Martinez though if we were looking to be a more fluid front 3 as he can drop in the pockets and does that linking up a bit more and better but someone like Haaland or Lukaku indicates Tuchel and the club want a more physical striker who is likely to be less involved outside the box but still guaranteed to get you close to that 20+ or above every season.

Fucking hell you sound like United fans when we pipped them to Robben and then Essien…. Or anyone fans who were mad that we “doubled peoples wages in the past” or offered large sums of money to blow other teams out the league/bought the league/whatever. Christ almighty. I guess everyone we signed ahead of other clubs in past offering them more wages as a sweetener or whatever are also in this same bracket you seem to be putting Lukaku in? Or just this one deal? If Lukaku is the right signing, comes in and scores 20 plus a season for the next 4/5 seasons, who cares that we are doubling his wages or whatever? Its hardly as if he is only coming here for the money and if you can’t see that and are using quotes from before Inter actually confirmed Inzaghi on a deal which was in June, prior to 2 bids being made by us, then you clearly don’t understand that this happens virtually every transfer or every couple of transfers. “Player X says he is staying” “Club Y bids for Player X” “Player X is open to move” “Club Y and Club Z agree fee/deal for player” “Club Y announces player X on whatever year deal”

100m for 37 career goals in 252 games. They wont get Kane now though, 100%, unless they sell like 4 or 5 other players because Spurs will want 150m at least now.
